What Is So Fascinating About Normalization of Male Chastity?

A recent industry survey I saw recently says that male chastity devices (combination of full belts and cock cages) ranked third globally in a current list of the top five most popular sex toys. That suggests normalization of male chastity is underway. In other words, male chastity is practiced more widely and becoming more mainstream and less of a kink activity or taboo. That’s a good thing, right? Or is it? Today’s topic is about what I find so fascinating about the normalization of male chastity.

Here on the eve of Locktober 2022, I’m contemplating a spirited discussion I read last night in the forums at Chastity Mansion. Just from what I’ve seen on social media and the number of visitors this website and others devoted to discussing male chastity get daily, I’ve felt for a long while now that male chastity is becoming increasingly normal. Once relegated to the kink community, the practice of male chastity is less taboo. More individual guys and couples who might otherwise consider themselves more vanilla than kinky have embraced chastity devices. Without giving it much thought, I suppose my default position has always been the more normal and mainstream male chastity becomes, the better. So, reading some opinions in the forum discussion surprised me. There were many guys who weighed in on the discussion that felt that normalization of male chastity was a negative. Here’s why.

Male Chastity as a Kink or Taboo

For many, viewing male chastity through the lens of kink or taboo is an important part of their enjoyment of the experience. For some, it’s the most important part of it. These guys feel if a guy locking up his cock becomes normal, they may lose interest in doing it.

On one level, I can understand this. Different guys have different motivations for wearing a chastity device. As an example, submissive guys see it as a satisfying submissive act.

There are also guys who are into kinky activities like SPH and cuckolding. If you fetishize shrinking your penis and entertain the illusion that wearing a cock cage permanently shrinks your peen (which it doesn’t, actually) then your interest in chastity may be mostly a satisfaction of your kink.

The same is true of those who combine wearing a chastity device as an integral part of engaging in cuckolding or their enjoyment of being on the receiving end of pegging.

Even guys who wear a chastity device to work or other public spaces because it makes them feel a little naughty knowing that they secretly are wearing a device beneath their clothing are approaching chastity from a kink perspective. Often, they may enjoy fantasizing about what people they encounter in public or the workplace would think or say if they only knew. Nothing wrong with any of that, of course.

But there are many guys and couples these days who don’t embrace chastity because they are interested in breaking taboo or satisfying a kink. And there is nothing wrong with that either. I count myself as part of that group.

Vanilla Male Chastity Perspective

It’s probably a safe assumption that those of us who embrace chastity from a more vanilla point of view are those who are the most enthusiastic about the normalization of chastity. And why our reasons might not be exactly the same, I think some commonalities exist. Here are two reasons I think normalization of male chastity is a positive.

Male Chastity Benefits Women

While many men may initially find having a partner locking their cocks attractive because it satisfies a fairly common male fantasy, I believe strongly that women gain more benefits from locking their partners in a chastity device than the men wearing the devices do. Sure, there are benefits for both. I just think there are more benefits for women. So, the more common it becomes in our society for men to wear chastity devices, the less weird or disgusting ordinary women will find it. To a significant degree, fear of being judged negatively by their partners is the main reason so many men find it difficult, if not impossible, to tell their partners they want to be locked. The more normalized male chastity becomes, the less this will be a problem.

There is a femdom blogger I’ve followed for a while now whose writing I find brilliant. Not only is she massively intelligent, she is also deliciously kinky and expresses her thoughts wonderfully. Honestly, I have a shameless crush on her, though of course I wouldn’t dream of contacting her to admit it. But she recently wrote something that disappointed me.

She stated that it’s a well-known fact that men vastly exaggerate how beneficial male chastity is for women. With all due respect, that simply isn’t true. Frankly, I think it’s impossible to overestimate how much locking her partner benefits a woman. I can only assume the blogger, while she has lots of experience with submissive men within the framework of female led D/s relationships, hasn’t much experience with male chastity or she wouldn’t hold the opinion she does. At least not long-term, 24/7 chastity experience. I’ve communicated with too many women who lock their partners, and have read too many books and blogs by women that extol the benefits for women from male chastity that I know those benefits are not exaggerated. And I believe more women should get those benefits, ordinary women. Not just femdom women or those on the kinky end of the sexual spectrum.

Male Chastity Benefits Men

The same blogger wrote in the same post that men are not ruled by their libidos, not in the sense that their sex drive is anything like a life-sustaining drive to satisfy hunger by getting food. The presumption is men don’t need to wear chastity devices to control their libidos. They just don’t try to control their urges for sexual gratification. Again, I respectfully disagree with her opinion, but I don’t fault her or respect her any less for having it.

The truth is, as a woman, even as a dominant woman, she hasn’t any real understanding of the male sex drive. She is no more capable of understanding the male libido and its effects for men than I am of understanding why women have so much more control over their libidos since I’m male and have no frame of reference. The male sex drive, thanks to many thousands of years of evolution designed to ensure the survival of the species, is very much akin to a life-sustaining drive to satisfy hunger. It’s almost a perfect analogy. That’s why men spend an inordinate amount of time seeking to satisfy their needs when their brains and bodies demand it. I make no excuses for the power my sex drive has over my behavior, but I’ve never denied it because you can’t. You must be a male to understand it. And I have seen nothing more useful in helping me to control the tyranny of my male libido than chastity devices. The more normalized male chastity becomes, the more willing ordinary men who are not necessarily submissive or interested in kink will be to try chastity and benefit from it. And chastity makes us better, better men and better partners.

So, those are my two main reasons for believing normalizing male chastity is a positive thing that I hope continues. But what about you? Do you see normalization of  male chastity as a positive or a negative?

Locktober Eve 2022

We’re just hours away from the kickoff of Locktober 2022. Amazingly, I received the shorter HF001 device I ordered from Badassworkroom yesterday, just in time. I tried it out yesterday and again today with two different base rings and goodness gracious! It’s perfect! As hoped, the shorter cage solved the “sticking peen” problem. So, I’m wearing it for Locktober. Weirdly, even though I’m locked all the time, Locktober still excites me. One of my favorite pro keyholders has graciously agreed to supervise this year. Honestly, I have the self-discipline now to complete Locktober or any length of locked period I choose without having a keyholder. But it makes Locktober so much more arousing and satisfying to have one. I’ll remove the device I’m wearing now at 10:00 P.M. and then I’ll put on the new HF-001 so that I can turn the key at the stroke of midnight. Then I will lock the key in the safe, surrendering control to my keyholder for 31 days.

Good luck to all taking part this year. Don’t back up, don’t back down. That’s the only way I know…

Locktober Strategies Revealed

The time draws nigh, looming, a cloud, a dread beyond. In twelve days, Locktober comes. So, it seemed a good time for Locktober strategies revealed, to help those readers who are standing at the precipice, gazing into the abyss, and screwing up their courage to accept the challenge of locking up their most prized possession for 31 long days. Whether this is your first Locktober attempt, or if you’ve tried it before but failed miserably, hopefully here you will find strategies that will help you succeed in 2022.

When it comes to self-improvement, two of the biggest stumbling blocks people encounter are a lack of motivation to get started and a fear that a goal will be too overwhelming. That stops many guys from trying or succeeding at chastity. That’s why a one-month challenge like Locktober can help tackle both issues. A thirty-one-day challenge feels doable—you can do almost anything for 31 days. And you can also use a 31-day challenge as an experiment. If chastity for a month enhances your life, you’ll create momentum that motivates you to use it to create more positive change. Here in this post, I’ll share with you my best strategies for making it to the finish line this Locktober.

Step 1: Decide to Succeed

It may sound obvious, but this is perhaps the most difficult part of succeeding.

During my chastity travels, I’ve had many conversations with guys who’ve told me they want to live the chaste life, but they never seem to make it happen. Why is that?

Because it’s tough to adjust to wearing a chastity device 24/7. Really tough.

In fact, wearing a chastity device for an entire month for the first time may be the most challenging and uncomfortable thing you ever do.

At first, this can be very scary.

Successfully completing Locktober means making some tough decisions. So, how badly do you want to succeed? What are you willing to do – and to give up – to make it happen?

Once you decide you will wear a chastity device for 31 straight days come hell or high water, suddenly, almost anything is possible.

Step 2. Learn to Embrace Discomfort

If you want to learn how to wear a chastity device 24/7 for an entire month, or longer, get prepared to say goodbye to your comfort zone. The very essence of growth in any difficult endeavor is to move beyond what you’ve experienced before.

You have to break new ground. And there will be discomfort, both physical and mental.

First, having a hunk of plastic or metal hanging from your junk doesn’t immediately feel normal. It takes some getting used to. If your brand new to it, you’ll probably have to deal with some chafing issues and some sore spots. Also, you will battle some very strong biological urges that all men have that evolution has programmed into us for thousands of years. Your body and brain will not be happy with your decision and will fight back. Expect the discomfort and then embrace it.

When I was a high school freshman, I went out for the football team, mostly because all my friends at the time intended to play football. I hadn’t played in junior high or in any Pop Warner leagues growing up. For me, football was a completely new experience, and after the first week of two a day practices, I hated it and decided to quit. Nervously, I went to my coach’s office after practice one afternoon and told him I wanted to quit. Frankly, I was scared to death because I saw him as a mean guy and feared he’d make fun of me. But I overcame my fear and went to talk to him anyway because I was that desperate. I wanted the discomfort to end. To my surprise, he was understanding and spoke to me with kindness. He convinced me he knew how I felt and why. Then he told me something I’ve never forgotten and never will. “If you want to quit, I won’t stop you. But you must understand something, son. If you quit football, any time for the rest of your life when you face a challenge, you will quit. You will be a quitter the rest of your life, and I don’t want to see that happen. You’re better than that.”

Long story short, he convinced me to stay on the team for one more week and if I still wanted to quit, he wouldn’t say another word. I agreed and something miraculous happened. During that week that I agreed to, even though I fully expected to quit at the end, I learned to embrace discomfort. I learned to embrace hitting other guys on the football practice field and getting hit. I embraced the soreness, the fatigue. And at the end of that week, I didn’t quit and went on to become a starter on my team for the next four years. I’m convinced that learning to embrace the discomfort made the difference. And, you know what? I’ve never quit a single thing in my life since.

Years later, I volunteered for an advanced military training course known for how few soldiers successfully complete it. On the first day, the instructor made us run five miles wearing our PT uniforms and running shoes. Nothing tough about that. At the time, I was running much further most days just for fun and fitness. But for this run, we also wore fully loaded seventy-pound rucksacks on our backs and carried rifles. At the end of the run, my feet were like hamburger and so were those of a lot of the other guys in my platoon. The next day, I could hardly walk wearing combat boots. But I never once thought about quitting the run that day or the course, even though things only got tougher after that run. That was because I’d already learned the secret back in high school football. I’d learned to embrace the discomfort.

Step 3. Get Help and Support

Guys who usually try Locktober and fail are those who try to do it on their own, self-locked, with no support. That makes it easier to get discouraged, give in to the discomfort, and quit. It makes it easier to rationalize and make excuses. That’s why you should consider getting help and support. But not every guy has a partner willing to act as his keyholder, or maybe any partner at all. No partner? No problem. There are professionals who will help and will hold you accountable for a nominal fee. And that can make all the difference in the world. I’ll offer two options here for professional help, people I can confidently recommend.

The first option is the Oxy-Shop Keyholder Service. I’ve used it and highly recommend it. A while back I posted a review for the service if you haven’t read it. Mistress Elena, who operates the service, is a consummate professional, and she makes it a fun experience. And best of all it’s so affordable, only $35 for the month. Do make sure you let Mistress Elena know you’re doing Locktober if you sign up so she knows not to offer you early releases.

The second option is pricier, but Goddess Summer knows her stuff and also offers more teasing than you will get with the first option. Tributes start at $75 (payable by Amazon.ca gift card). She also offers two other more expensive options with more teasing and interaction. Check out https://summerschoolforsissies.wordpress.com/2022/09/11/locktober-2022 for more details if you’re interested.

If you have no partner to support you and can’t afford or just don’t want to pay for professional keyholding, there is one free option where you can get both help, information, and support. No one will hold your key, but you will find other like-minded folks at Chastity Mansion who will offer their support and even answer questions you have as you navigate Locktober. You can sign up at https://www.chastitymansion.com/forums/index.php and membership is absolutely free.

Concluding Thoughts

Overcoming your natural male biological urges and completing 31 days in chastity is never an easy road. However, it doesn’t need to be an unpleasant journey. It can actually be both a fun and challenging experience that forces you to dig deep inside yourself.

It challenges you to change how you are and can help you become a better version of yourself.

The strategies presented here within this post can certainly help you along that journey. But ultimately, your success depends on you and how willing you are to make the necessary changes to succeed.

A Helpful Chastity Primer Heading Into Your First Locktober

Badassworkroom HF001 Resin Chastity Device Review

I’ve long been an avid fan of Badassworkroom and the company’s custom made steel chastity devices. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the two custom devices I’ve ordered from them so far. So, when I discovered they now offer a line of colorful resin devices, obviously “inspired” by KINK3D’s Cobra chastity cages, I had to try one. These cages, dubbed the HF-001 model, are available in five sizes. I chose the D1 size for this review. As far as I know, these are molded resin devices, not 3D-printed, but these devices are of high quality, smooth without any seams, and I love all the colorful options.

The last time I reviewed a device “inspired” by KINK3D’s Cobra chastity cages, I heard from a few guys who disapproved. One said he felt I had done a disservice to KINK3D by reviewing a device, clearly copying their design. I understand that opinion, and it isn’t wrong. However, as I’ve explained before, I try to review a variety of devices at different price points as I can imagine some guys simply can’t invest $155 to $185 in the devices KINK3D offers, but would like to get a similar product. And at the time I published that review, the made in China “knock-off” devices sold for between $9.99 and $16.99 depending on what seller someone chose. That device was truly a “knock-off” in that the manufacturer not only copied the design and manufactured the devices with 3D-print technology, they also copied the KINK3D nomenclature, using “Cobra” in the device’s name. Sure, they added two additional words, calling it the Cobra Male Chastity Lock, but just like the fake Holy Trainers that even had “Holy Trainer” stamped on them, I’m guessing they hoped to convince potential buyers in the same way they were getting the real deal at bargain basement prices.

While you can look at Badassworkroom’s HF-001 and see the obvious similarities with the Cobra, the company isn’t engaging in unethical marketing by representing the device as a Cobra. They aren’t trying to fool anyone. And it isn’t 3D-printed. Is that enough for the HF-001 to fall more into the inspired than the copied category? That’s your call to make. My take is if you want to buy an original KINK3D, made in the USA high-quality 3D-printed device and you’re willing to spend the $155 to $185, I applaud you. And if you like the style but can’t justify the significant investment and a similar product at a lower price that performs the same function satisfies you, I see no shame in it. I find it hard to believe copied devices take much business from the original creators. Someone who wants an original Cobra and can afford the cost isn’t likely to buy a copied version. And those who buy copied versions I doubt would have ever bought an original anyway. Using me as an example, I prefer steel devices and while I don’t doubt that KINK3D products are terrific and worth every penny, I’m in the camp of those who wouldn’t consider paying $155 to $185 to get one. So, to each his own.

HF-001 Chastity Device Specifications

Compared to the KINK3D device, available in eight sizes, the Badassworkroom offers the HF-001 in five sizes. I chose the D1, which is comparable to the Cobra N+ in size. The D-1 is a size smaller than the first Cobra-like device I tried and reviewed. While that one fit the length of my flaccid peen, if you read the review, I had an annoying issue with it. When my penis shrunk, as they do with the male organ’s constant state of contracting and expanding, mine would get stuck at about the midpoint of the cage and absent an actual attempted erection, the tip would never return to the end of the cage. This made peeing even more problematic than usual with chastity devices. So, I hoped a shorter cage would solve the issue. More on that bit later.

I admit the thing that first attracted me to the HF-001 was the availability of the four additional vibrant color options for those of us who like something other than basic black. I chose the purple color and was very pleased with my choice when the device arrived. Now let’s look at the specifications.

Available sizes
Dimensions
Colors

Besides the cage and “MagicLocker” the HF-001 comes with four different base ring sizes from 43mm to 51mm. The 43mm fits me perfectly. I think it’s an unusually wonderful variety of sizes where one should fit most guys.

Not only do you get the set of four base rings, you can also choose between “arc” rings (ergonomic) or standard round rings. Unfortunately, you can’t mix and match. You must take all four using the same option. I chose the round rings which do the job for me. I had an unpleasant experience with an ergonomic ring once, so I choose to stay away from them. Not to say others don’t love them. Before leaving the base ring topic, you can also get a custom-sized stainless steel ring with this device at an extra charge if you’re so inclined.

Comfort and Feel of the HF-001

As with all plastic chastity devices, the HF-001 is pleasingly light-weight. The cage and the base rings are smooth as glass inside and out, so I haven’t had even the hint of any chafing. The color is spectactularly vibrant and they color the resin itself so it doesn’t rub off or stain your skin. I put mine on September 1 and haven’t removed it since. It’s that comfortable. But alas, going one size smaller on cage length didn’t cure the same annoying sticking problem I experienced with the first Cobra-like device. With the HF-001, when my peen retracts, the head sticks about three-quarters of an inch from the end of the cage and that makes the issue even worse while urinating than I had with the longer cage. It positions my urethral opening right behind a bar at the top of the cage and even sitting, pee sprays like crazy. So, I have to use a Q-Tip to poke and prod to set things right every time I visit the bathroom. This issue results from two things. Like all Cobra-style devices (including the original I’ve now learned), the cage is (by design) not perfectly round. Instead, it’s slightly oval-shaped, from side to side. The other problem is me. My flaccid penis is chubby and I have a good bit of excess skin below the glans left over from circumcision. These two aspects of my organ don’t play well with the oval shape and that causes the sticking problem at the choke point. Other than that, I have no other problems with the fit and feel. It’s a comfortable device to wear.

Safety Considerations While Wearing the HF-001

Like any Cobra-style device, the design of the HF-001 is simple. There is a cage, base ring, lock, and two tabs on the cage that slip into a pair of sockets on the base ring to add stability. That makes the two components fit tightly together so there is no wobble. You must exercise a little care to avoid pinching when mating the cage to the base ring. It’s a simple ball-trap device, so the usual cautions apply. Choosing the proper size base ring is important. Choosing a base ring size that is too small can cause significant issues, including the risks associated with compromising your circulation. As a rule of thumb, skin discoloration or skin temperature of the scrotum that feels noticeably cooler than normal body temperature are indications of reduced circulation.

Hygiene Considerations When Wearing the HF-001

Thanks to the cage-type open style, I give the HF-001 high marks in the ease of cleaning department. It’s simple to keep the contents clean with a handheld shower head. I’ve worn mine for sixteen days without having to remove it for cleaning. Expect to sit to pee to avoid making a mess, and especially if you have the “sticking problem” I do, don’t even think about trying to pee while standing.

Final Thoughts

First, a word about “security” which, if you’re a regular reader of this website, you know by now is a relative term when discussing ball-trap chastity devices. The HF-001 does what the manufacturer designed it to do. It doesn’t fall off accidentally, but if you want to remove it while it’s locked on, it isn’t hard to do. The same thing is true of any device made using this design. So, if you want to compare it to the original KINK3D version, the HF-001 is no better and no worse. But it may not be the best choice for those with little or no willpower because there are other devices available that require more effort to escape from. That said, for those of us ready and willing to stay locked when required without cheating, this is an acceptably secure device.

I’m impressed by the overall quality of this device and love the color options. The darn sticking problem is my only real complaint. But as they say, if at first you don’t succeed, try again. I like this device well enough that I’ve already ordered another, this time the E1, the model with the shortest cage. Hopefully, with no extra length in the cage at all, the tip of my unruly peen will stay put at the end of the cage where it belongs. One way or the other, the E1 is what I plan to wear while flying when I visit Europe later this year. Several months ago, I bought one of the plastic locking plugs for the trip that I’ve mentioned that slides into the MagicLocker receiver and you then secure it with a plastic numbered lock. That means all plastic, baby, and it should speed me through security with no risk of having an embarrassing show and tell discussion in a small, locked room with TSA.

At $50, I think Badassworkroom has fairly priced the HF-001 given the high quality. If this device interests you, it’s available directly from the Badassworkroom official website, and also from the Badassworkroom Etsy store. Pro tip. If you get one, order from their Etsy store and you’ll get free shipping. Orders at the website incur shipping costs and you might as well save a few bucks.

Disclaimer: This review represents my own honest opinions. I purchased this device at the full retail price using my own funds, and I have no affiliation with Badassworkroom other than being a satisfied customer.

The Stuff About Chastity Device Security You May Not Have Considered and Really Should

Weirdly, three different guys contacted me last week about chastity device security. They all wanted to know how to find a chastity device that was completely inescapable. They all posed their questions a little differently, but it was the same question. And they weren’t asking about incorporating a piercing. They were all talking about ball-trap devices, not chastity belts. All had the same impression. Somewhere out there in the ether was the genuine article. The real deal. The holy grail of chastity devices. Either a device so perfectly designed it was escape proof, or some enhancement they might incorporate that they just hadn’t yet found that could make it so. Spoiler alert. There is no magic inescapable ball-trap device (like the one you have now). None.

There was a device manufacturer I saw mentioned on various chastity forums a while back that advertised having an inescapable device. I forget the name. But the company claimed its chastity device, which used a spring-loaded cam and a uniquely shaped base ring, was totally secure. Strangely, the company’s website has long since disappeared, so it’s a safe assumption they went out of business. That should tell you all you need to know about its “inescapable device” claims.

I always mention “security” in my device reviews. But understand, I’m always talking “relative security” not factual security. To me, the security of a ball-trap device means it fits tight enough that it doesn’t fall off on its own when you don’t want it to and would take over two seconds for me to remove it while locked. And, yes, while I won’t embarrass any manufacturers by naming them, I have two such devices I can get off in about two seconds flat while locked. As a general rule, custom made devices manufactured to a guy’s specific measurements are the most secure. The relative security of any off-the-shelf device is pretty much judged by whether it can fall off on its own, or allows testicles to pop out of the base ring.

Why Are So Many Guys Obsessed with Chastity Device Security?

This is a simple question to answer and has to do with the fantasy aspect of chastity. Even those of us who approach chastity from more of a practical perspective still embrace this fantasy to some degree. The idea of being totally helpless and under control of a chastity device or the control of another person holding the key to the device is an insanely hot and arousing concept. Also, chastity devices play right into the very common “do me while I’m helpless” male fantasy. So, knowing you could get a device off without unlocking it if you truly wanted sort of ruins the whole fantasy deal. Instead of accepting they must balance the fantasy with the reality of chastity device security, some guys long for a chastity device that even Houdini couldn’t have wriggled out of.

What About Security Add-Ons?

Sure, there are add-ons available like anti-pullout pins. They may make escaping more painful, but not impossible. I imagine easily how someone could design something with anti-pullout pins or teeth that would serve as a real deterrent. But the pin points or teeth would need to be so sharp that they would do serious damage if a guy tried to pull his peen out of the cage or tube to inflict enough pain to dissuade him. By definition, that means enough physical damage to cause that level of pain. The problem is, because a penis is a state of near constant change, just wearing a device equipped with something like that means it would cause nicks, cuts, and bloody shorts just from wearing it. Who wants to risk bleeding to death or nerve damage to gain an inescapable chastity device? That’s what I thought.

It's Physiology

The reason no ball-trap device is unequivocally secure is a simple matter of physiology. Who knows? Someday there may be devices that doctors can surgically attach to prevent removal. But at the moment, there is only one way to attach a ball-trap chastity device to male genitals, and that method makes it possible for a motivated guy to withdraw his penis from the cage and out the back of the base ring. Once he gets his penis out, while maybe it won’t be completely pain free, it creates sufficient space so he can then work a testicle out of the base ring, and then it’s easy to pop the other one out. That’s harder to do with some devices than with others. But it’s possible with every device I’ve ever seen or tried. Sometimes, with a well-fitted device, it might require soaping up in the shower or using lubrication, but it is never impossible.

Realistic Improved Chastity Device Security

There are only two realistic ways to get enhanced chastity device security. With ball-trap devices, it requires getting your penis pierced and wearing a ring through the piercing that attaches inside the cage to prevent backing your penis out. The Price Albert (PA) is the most popular for guys who choose this route. But a frenum piercing can also work. I wrote this post about penis piercings recently if you’re interested in that.

Usually, the body jewelry ring slips over an “S-hook” attached to the inside of the cage or tube. So once they lock on a device, the wearer has no access to the ring through the piercing and no way to withdraw his penis. I don’t have a piercing, but from what I’ve read on other chastity blogs and forums, this makes a chastity device quite secure, especially with a PA. I see no reason to doubt that as a practical matter, especially with tube-type devices where the tip of the S-hook goes through a tiny hole at the tip of the tube and extends slightly outside it. That ensures there isn’t even the smallest gap a guy might use to manipulate the ring and get it free from the hook inside the device.

The second option for practical chastity device security is going the full chastity belt route instead of using a ball-trap device. Of course, this is a far more expensive option if you want a quality belt. But, besides the costs, belts present their own problems. As examples, they must be precisely fitted. So, if you buy one and then lose or gain significant weight, the belt may no longer fit. Good hygiene requires much more time and effort. And belts may feel less comfortable and are bulkier. Still, a well-fitted belt is practically inescapable when locked unless the wearer resorts to tools to destroy it by cutting it off.

While far more secure than any ball-trap device alone, incorporating penis piercings or opting for a full chastity belt offers greater security, but with sufficient motivation to escape and cutting tools, neither is definitively inescapable. My point is, security is relative and may be enhanced, but still absolute security is simply unattainable. So, when we think of chastity device security, maybe we aren’t asking the right questions.

Chastity in the Real World

Devices, locks, etcetera are all symbolic. A totally escape proof chastity device does not exist. So, whether you could wriggle out of your chastity or not shouldn’t be an issue. Why not suspend belief and embrace the illusion that your device is inescapable? That will make chastity hotter for you and for your key holder if you have one who gets to believe you can’t possibly get out of it without their consent. If you attempt and succeed in escaping, that only ruins the illusion for you and your key holder, if applicable. Accept the balance between fantasy and reality. Even a well designed and fabricated ball-trap chastity device is not totally escape proof. But that doesn’t make chastity, or the associated orgasm denial any less fun, beneficial, or fulfilling.

Like I read somewhere, the best chastity device is between your ears, not your legs. If a guy cheats by escaping from a chastity device, then enhancing security isn’t really the problem. It’s a lack of commitment and he is only cheating himself out of the positive benefits of learning to control his penis instead of letting his penis control him. If that’s not important to him, then he should just unlock himself whenever he feels like it, even if that means asking for the key back from a key holder.

I’ve read a lot of chastity forum and blog posts by guys claiming their partners have forced them to wear a chastity device. Probably ninety-nine percent of those claims are fiction. I doubt there are many guys kept in chastity against their will. When a guy’s cock gets locked, it’s almost always his idea and he may have worked hard to convince a partner to act as his key holder. It’s voluntary, not forced. But enforced chastity makes it seem way hotter, so I understand why some guys make those claims.

The bottom line is you can always escape if you really want. And if that’s the case, why do the whole chastity thing at all if you don’t really want it? Actual chastity isn’t easy. You’re battling powerful biological urges impressed upon you by tens of thousands of years of evolution. And the proliferation of free porn on the internet makes it even harder to resist. At one extreme are guys who want the benefits that come from chastity and reduced ejaculation frequency. At the other are those for whom chastity is only an erotic game. Regardless of where you fall between the extremes, just accept that a chastity device is only a tool to supplement good old-fashioned willpower and self-discipline. Then you can focus on developing a more mindful sense with the help of a device that allows you to get on top of your masturbation habit, conquer your biological urges, and, within your relationship with a partner, help you focus more on their pleasure than your own. And you can stop wasting time and energy worrying that your device is not escape proof.

The 7 Day Chastity Challenge Survey Results

The 7 Day Chastity Challenge survey results are in, and the great participation blew me away. We definitely received a representative sample based on the number of books purchased and the Kindle Unlimited borrows. Thanks so much to each of you who took the time to complete the survey. So, for those interested, the survey says…

Here are the fifteen survey questions and the results.

Q1: Did you complete all seven days of the challenge?

80.6% of those who took the 7 day challenge completed it, which I think is a phenomenal number. That shows as it was designed, most guys, sufficiently motivated, were able to successfully complete the challenge.

Q2: If you didn’t complete all seven days, what was the most important reason why?

Of the 19.4% of those who didn’t complete all 7 days of the challenge, here were the top reasons they gave.

  • 66.7% were unable to wear a chastity device comfortably.
  • 16.7% found the accelerated wear schedule caused them too much discomfort.
  • 16.7% decided chastity wasn’t for them and abandoned the challenge.

Q3: What most motivated you to take the challenge?

  • 46.9% wanted to experience the benefits of male chastity.
  • 34.4% wanted to learn to wear a chastity device for extended periods.
  • 9.4% wanted to satisfy their curiosity about what male chastity is about.
  • 9.4% wanted to try chastity for the first time.

Q4: What was the source of the chastity device you used?

  • 78.1% used a chastity device they already owned for the challenge.
  • 18.8% bought a new device to use for the challenge.
  • 3.1% opted for “Honor Chastity” instead of using a chastity device.

Q5: If you purchased a new device for the challenge, how helpful was the advice we included on choosing and measuring a chastity device?

For those buying a chastity device for the challenge, we suggested two options. Both were basic, generic devices widely available for $25 or less, one stainless steel and the other 3D-printed plastic. Our intent was to encourage guys to start with something inexpensive so that if they decided chastity wasn’t something they wanted to continue after the challenge they wouldn’t have made a significant investment in a more expensive device. Here is how helpful challenge participants found our advice.

  • 62.5% found the advice very helpful.
  • 25.0% found the advice somewhat helpful.
  • 12.5% found the advice not helpful.

In hindsight, we probably should have split this question into two questions, asking about how helpful participants found our device options suggestions and then how helpful they found the sizing advice we included. That might have provided us with useful insight into why 12.5% didn’t find our recommendations helpful.

Q6: What type of chastity device did you use for the challenge?

For those who used a chastity device for the challenge, the vast majority, here is the type they used.

  • 58.1% used 3D-printed plastic devices.
  • 32.3% used stainless steel devices.
  • 9.7% used silicone devices.

Q7: How would you rate the accelerated wear schedule from beginner to 24/7 chastity in 7 days?

This is one of the questions we were most interested in getting feeding back on from participants. When I first tried chastity an experienced, professional keyholder supervised me. She took me from putting on a chastity device for the first time to 24/7 wear in seven days. So, I knew it was possible, but was challenging and that’s why I chose the 7-day period rather than something longer like 14 days or a month. Here is how participants felt about the accelerated wear schedule.

  • 41.9% thought it was about right.
  • 35.5% found it challenging.
  • 19.4% found it easy.
  • 3.2% found it difficult.

Q8: After taking the challenge, do you plan to continue practicing male chastity?

  • 93.7% of participants said yes, they intended to continued practicing male chastity.
  • A little more than 3% no, and a similar number said they were unsure.

Q9: Did you experience the positive benefits of male chastity/semen retention we promised during the challenge?

  • 59.4% Yes
  • 37.5% Somewhat
  • 3.1% No

While we felt gratified that well over half of the participants felt they experienced the positive benefits we promised, we understand the more intense benefits and experiences that chastity offers take longer. So, we weren’t surprised that not every participant experienced every possible benefit. Still, 96.7% did experience at least some of the benefits after only seven days.

Q10: Did the challenge meet the expectations you had at the start?

  • 56.3% Yes
  • 37.5% Somewhat
  • 6.3% No

Overall, most participants felt the challenge met their expectations in whole or in part.

Q11: On a scale of 1 to 5 (with 1 lowest and 5 highest) please provide your overall rating for the challenge.

  • 32.3% – 5
  • 48.4% – 4
  • 19.4% – 3

Q12: Was this challenge your first experience with practicing male chastity?

  • 67.7% No
  • 32.3% Yes

Q13: If you could change one thing about the challenge, what would it be?

This was an essay question where we invited participants to offer suggestions for improving the challenge. The overwhelming top response was participants would have liked a longer period of chastity and denial. We chose the 7-day period since we intended the challenge to be an introduction to chastity, but the responses to the question have us thinking about offering a 30-day challenge people could try after completing the 7-day challenge.

Q14: To what extent do you agree with the following statement: The 7 Day challenge made it easy for me to experience 24/7 chastity.

  • 66.7% Somewhat agreed.
  • 27.5% Agreed.
  • 5.9% Somewhat disagreed with the statement.

Q15: Anything else you would like us to know?

The final question in the survey was an optional essay question inviting participants to share anything else they wished about their experiences with the challenge. We received many responses that were personal in nature, but the most common response was from participants who said they enjoyed taking the challenge or found it useful.

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to complete the survey, and we appreciated your feedback so much. While we feel the survey did not show we should make any immediate changes to the 7 day chastity challenge, we came away feeling there is definite interest in a longer challenge and so we intend to work on a follow up thirty day challenge soon.

Another Device Review Coming Soon

On the first day of September, I’ll begin test-wearing a new device I recently received. Stay tuned for the next device review coming soon.

Down the Sissy Rabbit Hole: Serialized Erotica on Kindle Vella

So, I did a thing. I’ve been curious about Kindle Vella since it came out and decided to give it a go. I had a fiction project I’ve been thinking about for a while and instead of publishing it as a book I thought I’d use Kindle Vella to tell the story. If you’re not familiar with Kindle Vella, no worries. It’s really new and lots of people know little about it. After I tell you a little about Falling Down the Sissy Rabbit Hole, my first serialized Kindle Vella story, I’ll tell you all about the platform and how to use it.

Context of The Story

Those who identify as sissy often see this in a multiplicity of usages, meanings, and implications that cuts across identities, roles, presentations, orientations, and preferences. This one word can communicate much about who they are, how they see themselves, and how they relate to intimate and romantic partners and the larger world.

Part of being a writer is doing research and while I’ve researched the topic, I’m on the outside looking in so I don’t pretend to know everything about the term sissy or those who adopt the label. But one thing I have learned is you can visit a hundred different sissy sites and get a hundred different perspectives on what being a sissy is. To write a fictional story, you don’t have to get involved in all the minutiae. You just have to establish a context for the story so people can understand what it’s about. So, here it is. I use the term sissy simply to describe people who were assigned male at birth and embrace feminine roles and/or expression. The story is merely a work of fiction that features a cis male person who finds himself in a situation where a dominant woman uses forced feminization as a means of discipline and humiliation to assert her control over him. My aim is to tell an erotic story that people will find entertaining using a little comedic relief against the backdrop of the practice of forced feminization and what it can entail.

Down The Sissy Rabbit Hole Summary

The reminiscences of a young adult man recalling the shocking and comedic adventures and experiences of his misspent youth to tell the story of how being taken in hand by a young, dominant governess changed his life forever.

After a third fashionable preparatory school expels him for chronic misbehavior, sixteen-year-old Brian Dawson continues his rebellious and delinquent ways after arriving home. When a female guest in the family home walks into her room to find Brian prowling through her drawers and taking indecent liberties with her lingerie, his parents decide it’s the final straw. On the advice of a family friend, Brian’s parents send him to live with a young, uncompromising governess, her female staff, and her three teenage female charges. When he rebels against the authority of his new governess, Brian quickly becomes Brianna when his governess, Miss Abby Pierpont, forces him to wear girls’ clothing as his usual attire, and punishes his misdeeds with frequent flagellation. Later, because of his youthful experiences, Brian continues to submit to dominant women as an adult through forced feminization and cross-dressing. A modern tale of petticoat discipline and enforced chastity.

About Amazon Kindle Vella

Kindle Vella is relatively new to the market. It’s a platform and reading service that allows you to read serialized fiction written specifically for Kindle Vella. Serialization is the act of breaking a story into chapters (called episodes) and posting new chapters at intervals, just like a television series. Serialized fiction isn’t new. Classic writers like Charles Dickens, Jules Verne, and Arthur Conan Doyle all used the serialization format for their fiction. And now, this return to the origins of the novel seems to be regaining its popularity. There are many other sites that offer serialized fiction. Kindle Vella is just Amazon’s entry into the market.

How Kindle Vella Works

Kindle Vella stories are currently only available in the US to both readers and writers, and you can only read the stories on Amazon’s Kindle Vella website or with an iOS app. Currently, there is no Android compatibility or the capability to read the stories on a Kindle e-reader. Amazon and others in the serialized fiction market purposefully designed their serialized fiction platforms for people who like to read on the go on their smartphones.

Each episode can be anywhere from 600 to 5,000 words, making Vella stories perfect for people who enjoy reading while commuting to work or during their breaks, but rarely have time to sit down to read an entire novel. You get the stories in bite-size episodes you can easily read in only a few minutes. You can even subscribe, so you receive notifications when new episodes become available. Also, you can read the first few (usually three) episodes free, so you get the chance to decide whether you want to continue reading a story before you ever have to pay.

Paying for Episodes

If you find a story, you enjoy and want to continue reading after finishing the free episodes, then you buy them an episode at a time. The payment model is also different from purchasing eBooks from Amazon. You pay for Vella story episodes with tokens that you purchase in bundles. The bigger the bundle you buy, the cheaper the tokens are. And it’s a fairly cheap way to read. The cost of an episode is based on word count, with the general rule being it costs one token per 100 words. So a 600-word episode costs around six tokens. The smallest bundle Amazon sells is 200 tokens for $1.99. That’s about $2.00 for 20,000 words of content, or about a penny per token using the smallest bundle as an example. Amazon also sells other bundles. 368 tokens are $4.99, 770 tokens are $9.99, and 1,500 tokens are $14.99 when purchased via the mobile app. Web pricing is a better value, offering 525, 1,100, and 1,700 tokens at the same respective price points.

Why I Chose Vella For Down The Sissy Rabbit Hole

Mostly, I chose Kindle Vella for this story because I was curious to experience firsthand how the platform works. Also, it’s an opportunity to access another group of readers, those who only have the time to read 600 to 5,000 words at a sitting and like the idea of serialized fiction. Vella is no get rich scheme for writers since they earn only fractions of a cent per word for their stories. But it’s another way to give value to readers and hopefully find new ones.

There are some other issues for writers unique to the platform. The stories are hard to find since Amazon only promotes the most popular Vella stories. So, writers who don’t get the word out about their stories may not get any reads at all because no one will know their stories even exist. So, that’s one motivation behind this post. And that segues into the next topic.

Reader Interaction With Kindle Vella Stories

One unique thing about Kindle Vella is that readers have many ways to interact with and support stories they enjoy reading. You can “like” stories by clicking a button similar to liking content on social media websites. You can “favorite” stories by clicking another button, and you can post reviews if you wish. These actions all help elevate the visibility of stories on the platform so that more readers find them. If you are reading a story you enjoy, why not help other readers find it? Also, supporting a writer whose work you enjoy reading will encourage them to write more episodes and maybe release new episodes more often. So, if Down The Sissy Rabbit Hole sounds like something you might enjoy reading, if you try out Kindle Vella and read any episodes, even the free ones, I’d be sincerely grateful for any likes, favorites, or reviews if you enjoy the episodes.

What To Expect From Down The Sissy Rabbit Hole

“Petticoating” is a relatively recent discovery for me and I find it intriguing from a kink perspective because it pairs well with enforced chastity and Femdom in general, both topics near and dear to my heart. When I first thought about writing an erotica story using petticoating and the forced feminization aspects of it as the theme, originally I planned to write a full length novella. So, I’m committed to writing and publishing enough episodes to reach novella length, regardless of how many reads the story gets. So far, I’ve published four episodes, three of which are free. And I plan to publish a new episode of between 600 to 1500 words each week (every Thursday) until I finish the story.

You can visit the Kindle Vella Down The Sissy Rabbit Hole page to learn more by clicking the orange button below the story summary above, or by clicking this link: https://www.amazon.com/kindle-vella/story/B0BC4VS4PD

Badassworkroom BA-21 Chastity Device Review

It’s time for my promised Badassworkroom BA-21 chastity device review. This is my second stainless steel device from Badassworkroom and I found much to like about it.

After wearing the device for almost a full month, I’m ready to offer my opinions on the Badassworkroom BA-21 chastity device. I purchased my first Badassworkroom custom device, the BA-12, to satisfy my curiosity about what it felt like to wear a device with a 90-degree angled cage. It intrigued me from a purely aesthetic perspective after seeing and liking the looks of a 90-degree angled cage on another manufacturer’s website. But to my surprise, I found the device satisfyingly comfortable to wear. Also, the BA-12 gave me the chance to experience the high quality workmanship that the company puts into their custom-made steel devices. So, I felt no hesitation about ordering another custom device from them, but this time one I intended to wear regularly. And I chose the BA-21.

BA-21 Specifications

The above specifications are what I ordered based on my specific measurements. But the BA-21 is fully customizable, so you can order this device to fit your own unique measurements. I ordered mine with a “MagicLocker” integral lock, but you can also get this device with a common padlock or a proprietary locking security screw.

Components

The BA-21 is a standard ball-trap device and comes with three components:

  • Base Ring
  • Penis Cage
  • Locking Device

BA-21 Physical Details

I ordered the BA-12 in surgical stainless steel. But the device is also available in titanium for an additional cost of $100.00 for those seeking a lighter weight cage. This device, which I find quite comparable to my Mature Metal Jailbird, is marginally lighter than the Jailbird even with the integral lock, which requires they make the base ring from slightly larger diameter, heavier stock. All the welds are smooth and the device measurements are exactly what I ordered. In my opinion, the quality of workmanship is as good as you will find in the custom-made male steel chastity device industry. My device fits perfectly and the connection between the cage and base ring is tight with no play. Like the BA-12 I ordered previously, the integral lock is stainless steel instead of brass and the insert is slightly longer than the brass inserts, which means you won’t be able to switch out this MagicLocker with one of the brass ones you may have that came with some other device.

BA-21 Chastity Device Use

The BA-21 is another standard ball-trapping device. You insert your scrotum and testicles into the base ring, pull your flaccid penis through the ring to rest atop your testicles, and slide the cage on. Then you mate the two components together and lock up. The device feels quite secure, but as we know, standard ball-trapping device security is mostly an illusion unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. There are options available at an additional cost for guys with PA piercings to gain added security. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the 10mm default factory-set gap worked great for me and probably will for most guys. But the gap is customizable too.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the BA-21

The usual precautions apply as with any ball-trapping male chastity device.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the BA-21

I find the BA-21 provides me the heft of stainless steel that I like without being uncomfortably weighty. As mentioned it weighs slightly less than my Mature Metal Jailbird. The interior of the cage feels satisfyingly smooth. It’s one of the most comfortable devices I’ve worn and required no adjustment period. It felt comfortable the first time I put it on and has remained that way. As far as standard ball-trap devices without the added security of a piercing go, it feels comfortably secure.

The BA-21 at work…

Hygiene Considerations When Wearing the BA-21

Thanks to the cage-type open architecture, the BA-21 gets high marks in the hygiene department. It has been simple to keep clean using my handheld shower head. I’m certain I could wear it indefinitely with no need to remove it periodically for cleaning. With four vertical and two horizontal bars on the nose of the cock cage, expect to sit to pee to avoid making a mess. I haven’t even experimented with trying to stand while urinating while wearing this device.

Final Thoughts

The Badassworkroom BA-21 is a well designed and well made device. It’s on the lighter end of the spectrum of stainless steel open-type cage devices, and super comfortable. It’s a device that deserves serious consideration by those seeking a steel cage-style device.

At $300.00 USD for the stainless steel model ($400.00 for titanium), this is outstanding quality at a reasonable and affordable price for a custom-made stainless-steel male chastity device. For comparison purposes, the Mature Metal Jailbird, a device I feel the BA-21 matches up well with, retailed at $330.00 when I published this review.

Something I and others raved about when Badassworkroom first came on the scene was the company’s unheard of fast delivery. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and that amazingly fast delivery has ended at Badassworkroom. It took more than twice as long for me to receive this device than the first one I ordered. The owner told me it’s because they have become more well known and are getting far more orders. I suspect that China’s “zero COVID policy” with the frequent lock downs has also slowed deliveries. But of course I wouldn’t have expected the owner to confirm that for the obvious reasons and he didn’t. Still, Badassworkroom’s shipping times remain in line with most other custom chastity device manufacturers and is still better than some.

Disclaimer: This review represents my own honest opinions. I purchased this device at the full retail price using my own funds, and I have no affiliation with Badassworkroom other than being a satisfied customer.

The 7 Day Chastity Challenge Survey

The 7 Day Chastity Challenge survey is now available for those who have taken the challenge. If you have taken the challenge, please consider sharing your opinions to help us understand whether the challenge met your expectations.

Not Another Survey. Seriously?

Yes, I know. We all get deluged with requests to provide feedback by spending our valuable time to complete surveys or provide reviews for products we’ve purchased. I get it. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t find multiple such requests in my email inbox.

But I’d truly appreciate it if you would consider completing our short 3-5 minutes survey for the 7-day chastity challenge if you took it. Your opinions will not only help us understand how well the challenge met your expectations, but could help us identify how we might improve it.

Since The 7 Day Chastity Challenge has been available for almost two months now and many have either purchased a copy from Amazon or borrowed it through Kindle Unlimited, I’m confident enough people have taken the challenge to provide some valuable feedback. We take seriously our responsibility to provide value to readers who purchase our non-fiction printed resources and fiction titles, and are committed to meeting our reader’s expectations. If we can improve a resource and make it more useful, we certainly want to do that.

Completing the Survey

You can complete the survey, hosted on Survey Planet, right here on our website below, or you can access it directly at this link: https://s.surveyplanet.com/5jjxg3bi

The aim of The 7 Day Chastity Challenge is to take those who have never experienced it for any length of time to 24/7 chastity in seven days. Your responses to this survey will help us understand how successful the challenge has been in achieving that goal and could help us discover how we might improve on our original model.

The majority of the questions only require choosing the best answer from multiple choice lists of responses and shouldn’t require more than 3-5 minutes of your time. So, if you’ve taken the challenge, whether you completed all seven days or not, please consider completing the survey. We would truly appreciate it.

Base on the number of copies sold and Kindle Unlimited page reads, we hope to receive a representative sample of surveys by August 31, 2022. If we do, we’ll end the survey on that date and will publish a survey results post in September after we’ve collated the data.

We are collecting only survey responses, not any personal information. Your responses will be completely anonymous.

You Haven't Taken the Challenge?

If this is the first you’ve heard of The 7 Day Chastity Challenge and it sounds like something you’re interested in, it’s available on Amazon as an eBook and in paperback. For a few more weeks, Kindle Unlimited subscribers can read it free.

Next Chastity Device Review Coming Soon

If you follow My Current Status page (page link in the menu bar above), you may have noticed I’ve been wearing a new device since August 5, the BA-21 stainless steel device from Badassworkroom. This is my second custom-made Badassworkroom metal cage and the quality and fit of this model is impressing me just as much as the first device I purchased from them. The BA-21 is quite similar to my Mature Metal Jailbird, but has more vertical bars on the nose that prevents the tip of the penis from slipping through any gaps. I’ll publish a review of the BA-21 near the end of the month.

Mail Call: July Reader’s Questions and Answers

I received three questions recently that I want to answer here since the topics may interest other Cut to the Chaste readers.

Cherry Keeper Device Review Question

The first comes from Peter R. who asked about my review of the Cherry Keeper device. Peter writes…

Re. your review on the Cherry Keeper, specifically your comment that it was easy to remove. Did you have the “Headlock” feature in the device that you were testing? As per the Cherry Keeper website: “No device of this style is 100% secure, but HeadLock makes it so that a serious effort must be put in to escape.” The two statements are contradictory unless you didn’t have the HeadLock feature, and if you did, then the device will not satisfy my expectations.

Hi Peter, and thanks for your question. No, I did not test the Cherry Keeper with the HeadLock feature, and agree the statements you quoted from the manufacturer’s website are contradictory. And, as I mentioned in the review, I found it much easier to escape from the Cherry Keeper than many of the devices I’ve tested. That’s why I mentioned it in the review even though, as the statement you attribute to the Cherry Keeper manufacturer’s website says, “No device of this style [ball-trap device] is 100% secure.” All it required was pushing the locking mechanism at the top of the base ring away from my abdomen with my left thumb. That created plenty of a gap between the ring and my abdomen to allow me to work my flaccid member easily out of the cage and base ring, using my right index finger. I took about ten seconds. While I’ve found that same thing possible with other devices, it usually requires far more effort.

Since I’ve not tested a Cherry Keeper device with the HeadLock feature, I can’t say whether it makes the device more secure or not. But I have my doubts which is why I didn’t order a device that offered the option.

According to the manufacturer’s website, “The HeadLock feature adds a smaller ring to the entrance to the cage, restricting the opening in such a fashion as to hold the head in place.” It’s been my experience that whatever you can insert a peen through you can usually withdraw it from. And the true issue is, as I described, the ability of the wearer to gain access to the flaccid shaft between the body and the back of the base ring. I can’t imagine how having an extra, smaller ring at the base of the cage on the front side of the base ring would change that much.

Different folks find wearing a male chastity device appealing for different reasons. For example, some view a chastity device from the perspective of their interest in bondage. So, naturally, the security of the device is of paramount concern to them. These folks like the thought of having their penises hopelessly imprisoned inside an inescapable device that renders them completely helpless. But for penis owners without a piercing that they can incorporate into the security of the device, 100% security, like it or not, is not reality. It’s only an illusion that requires suspension of belief.

I know of folks who want 100% security so much, they superglue the locks of their devices or break the keys off in the locks. That might be a testament to their commitment to permanent chastity, but it doesn’t make their devices inescapable. Some devices are definitely more difficult to remove when locked than others, but a motivated guy can escape from any ball-trap device, period. And he probably won’t even need any tools to do it. A flaccid penis is simply too pliable and squishy to prevent it.

Here is my take on male chastity devices. It’s the symbolism of male chastity that matters most, not whether a chastity device is inescapable. For me, a chastity device is an anti-temptation measure, since one of the main reasons I wear them is because I want control over my masturbation frequency, something I struggled with a lot before I discovered chastity devices. And wearing a locked cage or tube has helped me tremendously.

I may not have the willpower to resist masturbating more often than I think I should or want to, but I have enough not to remove or escape from my device to do it. So, it doesn’t matter to me that my device isn’t realistically 100% secure and that I could escape it if I wanted. I have no interest in escaping. If I did, I wouldn’t waste money on buying the devices unless I also felt willing to get a Prince Albert (PA) piercing. A ring through a PA (or maybe a frenum piercing) that is hooked inside a locked chastity device cage or tube and not accessible is the only realistic way to prevent a guy from escaping a locked ball-trap device.

It wasn’t my intention to be overly critical of Cherry Keeper devices. They perform the function the manufacturer designed them for. For someone looking for a lightweight device and feels no temptation to escape from it while locked, they are well-designed, aesthetically pleasing, and functional. But they aren’t in my experience as secure as other devices I’ve tried.

Can I Get the Smoothness of a Metal Device and Weight of Plastic

The next question comes from Rob P. who asked if it were possible to find a device that offers the smoothness of steel, which he prefers, but with the light-weight of a plastic device he needs. Rob writes…

I have several devices and like the weight of the printed devices from custom chastity. But prefer metal as I get less chaffing. But the weight of the metal is a problem even with custom devices from mature metal. Any thoughts on how I get the smoothness of metal with the weight of plastic?

Ps I enjoyed your books

Hello Rob, and thanks so much for mentioning the books. I’m pleased you enjoyed them. Ah, nirvana. The silky smoothness of steel with the feather weight lightness of plastic. I’m sure many guys wish for that same thing.

First, the obvious response. Sadly, I do not know of any 3D printed device with the smooth feel of stainless steel. I’m very much a fan of steel devices myself, and so I know exactly what you mean. And I prefer steel to any plastic device I’ve tried, including the 3D printed ones. Personally, I like the weighty feel of stainless steel, so that’s not a problem for me other than when working out or going for a long run. And I have invested in plastic devices to wear for those activities. But I now own a stainless device that is so lightweight I don’t have to exchange it for plastic even when running. It’s the Amicus, a partially customizable device from Male Chastity Now.

I ordered the shortest cage length available, and it is unbelievably lightweight for stainless steel. I estimate it weighs less than half as much as my Mature Metal Jail Bird, maybe even less than that. It feels so light that I frequently forget I’m wearing it and have no issues when wearing it for running.

The owner of Male Chastity Now, a U.S. company, has always got the cages for the Amicus from a China-based supplier to keep the price low, and the quality is first rate. Then he makes the base rings. Unfortunately, his supplier has disappeared, so the Amicus isn’t available right now. But Male Chastity Now offers a fully customizable device, the Contender, which is every bit as lightweight at the Amicus with comparable cage lengths. So, that might be one option for you if the aesthetics of the device appeal to you.

Another custom maker of stainless devices, Badass workroom, also a China-based company that I’ve recently bought two different devices from also produces some high quality, beautifully crafted stainless steel devices that are far lighter than either of my Mature Metal devices. That could be another option. Badass workroom also manufacturers many of their models in titanium, which makes them about forty-five percent lighter than the lightest stainless steel models. That might definitely offer the smoothness of metal with a weight comparable to plastic.

I’m aware of Custom Chastity and they have a line of interesting devices, but I’ve never worn one and know little about the company. But I do own three 3D printed devices from three different manufacturers and so I know a little about how they make them. The last one I bought has the smoothest surface. The first one I got, one of the first available, has a surface that is quite rough, almost pebble-like. I had to do a lot of work on that one using a mini rotary sander because the base ring caused unbearable chaffing. So it seems the technology is improving and the device surfaces are getting smoother. But I also understand the smoother they make them, the more expensive the process. Still, with my experience with them, I don’t see any plastic device ever offering the satisfying smooth feel of steel.

I’m only guessing here, based on my experiences, but I’m assuming your biggest problem with chaffing comes from plastic base rings but the smoothness you’re after that you mentioned you enjoy probably has to do with the interior of the tube or cage. No matter how advanced 3D printing becomes, I can’t imagine you ever will get that feel from a plastic device. So, I’d say, titanium might be your best bet for getting the best of both worlds. Hopefully, before the end of the year I’ll get the chance to order, wear test, and review one of the titanium models from Badass workroom.

How to Put on a Chastity Device With One Hand

The last question comes from Jack T. who asked if I could offer any advice to someone with the use of only one hand for putting on a chastity device. I received Jack’s question through the contact page and the system delivered the email to me as it ideally does when someone completes the contact form. But I can’t access the email today for some reason, which is always annoying. Still, I can remember what Jack shared, so I’m relying on memory for this one.

The gist is Jack has use of only one hand, and his partner is unavailable to help at that moment, but he wants to wear his device. After many attempts, however, he hasn’t found a way to put it on by himself with only one hand.

Hi Jack,

Thanks so much for the question, and I’m sorry you’re having difficulties. Like you, I tried putting on a chastity device using only one hand to see if I could and wasn’t able to do it. Getting the tube or cage on and locked with one hand seems doable, but getting the base ring on with only one hand seems pretty near impossible. From my experiments, it seems if you could get your testicles into the ring, you could probably hold the ring with one hand and push the flaccid penis through with a thumb. But getting both testicles into the ring is the obstacle. I can get one inside pretty easily, but not both. Admittedly, I’m not the most coordinated guy on the planet, so someone with more dexterity could possibly do it. Still, I’m afraid I can’t offer you a solution. Maybe someone reading this, more clever than I am, might have an idea and will post it in the comments for you. Take care, Jack, and thanks for following the website.

That’s it for mail call this month. The comment form facility seems like it’s working properly for a change as these questions all arrived in my inbox like they were supposed to. When checking the spam folder where the questions had been going, I found only actual spam. So, if you have a question, give it a try. Steelworxx Thunder Chastity Device Review

Closing in on a full month of wearing the Steelworxx Thunder stainless steel chastity device, I’m ready to tender my review.

Having worn the Steelworxx Thunder for over three weeks, I feel I’m ready now to give my opinions. Having always worn only open cage-type stainless steel devices in the past, I’ve always been intrigued with fully enclosed tube-type devices and curious how different it might feel to wear one. So, I decided to plunk down my hard-earned cash for my first Steelworxx device.

Since, in my opinion, Thumper of denyingthumper.com fame, has already written brilliantly everything worth reading about the Steelworxx Steelheart, I chose to get the Thunder model instead. The two devices are pretty similar except the Thunder has a blunt, squared off nose rather than the rounded nose of the Steelheart. I also liked the looks of the generous urine outlet slot, another obvious difference from the Steelheart which has a round hole in the center of the nose. Let’s see what I found out.

Steelworxx Thunder Specifications

Below are the specifications of the Steelworxx Thunder I ordered, customized to my own measurements.

I found that the device fit as perfectly as I’d envisioned when ordering it. The 60mm length I ordered reflects my preference for cages a little shorter than the actual average length of my flaccid penis. I’m able to slip into tube without the need for lubricant or use of the stocking method, yet I feel the pleasing skin to metal contact between my shaft and the interior of the stainless-steel tube at all times. My device has the traditional tiny brass padlock Steelworxx provides, but the Thunder is also available with an integrated (MagicLocker-style) lock at an additional charge.

The tube is available in total lengths from 60mm to 130mm, base ring (termed A-ring by Steelworxx) diameters of 38mm to 50 mm, and inside tube diameters from 29mm to 44 mm. The gap measurement (distance between tube and ring) is 15mm (0.591inch) at the bottom and 5mm (0.197inch) at the top. That will probably work for 90% of us, and does for me.

Steelworxx Thunder Device Physical Details

Steelworxx manufacturers the Thunder from surgical stainless steel and the beautiful outer surface is buffed to a mirror-like high gloss finish. The aesthetics of this device alone were rather breathtaking for me the first time I put it on. As a cage-type device wearer for the most part, I very much liked how my penis totally disappeared thanks to the fully enclosed tube. I’ll say Steelworxx in my experience with custom made chastity devices from a variety of manufacturers is unmatched when it comes to quality and craftmanship. Everything fits precisely and tightly just the way they designed it.

Steelworxx Thunder Device Use

The Thunder is another standard ball-trapping device. You insert your scrotum and testicles into the A-ring, pull your flaccid penis through the ring to rest atop your testicles, and slide the tube on. Then you mate the two components together and lock up. The device feels quite secure, but as we know, standard ball-trapping device security is mostly illusionary unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. There are options available at an additional cost for guys with PA piercings to gain added security. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the standard factory-set gap worked great for me and probably will for most guys.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the Thunder

The usual precautions apply as with any ball-trapping male chastity device. Choosing the proper size base ring is important. Choosing an A-ring size that is too small can cause significant issues, including the risks associated with compromising your circulation. As a rule of thumb, skin discoloration or skin temperature of the scrotum that feels noticeably cooler than normal body temperature are indications of reduced circulation. Also, since it is a fully enclosed tube, selecting an inside tube diameter that fits properly is also important since you will be unable to monitor the skin color and temperature of your shaft while wearing this device.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the Thunder

I find the Thunder surprisingly light weight even though it’s a fully enclosed tube, and the interior of the tube feels satiny smooth. It’s one of the most comfortable devices I’ve worn and there was no adjustment period. It felt comfortable the first time I put it on and has remained that way. I truly like the feel of having my shaft completely enclosed by steel. To me, it feels much nicer and more noticeable than the sensations I’ve experienced when wearing fully enclosed plastic tubes.

Hygiene Considerations When Wearing the Thunder

If you’ve read my previous chastity device reviews then you already know I’m a stickler when it comes to hygiene. I knew from my experiences with the plastic enclosed tube devices I’ve tired, that the Thunder might offer similar challenges in the hygiene department. I did purchase a plastic squeeze bottle with a syringe-like tip that I use daily for cleaning while showering. First, I fill the bottle with warm soapy water and flush the interior of the tube with it from the top and through the urine outlet at the bottom. Then using clear warm water in the bottle, I repeat the process to rinse out the soap. This does a fair job of keeping things clean, but of course it’s more of a bother than keeping things clean when wearing an open cage-type device. Also, I suspect the method I use does not completely rinse all the soap out of the tube since the interior “hugs” my flaccid shaft quite well.

I wore the device for three days before removing it for a thorough cleaning and didn’t notice any issues. Then I tried four days, and did notice a faintly unpleasant smell when I removed the tube. Finally, I wore the device for five days straight, and the unpleasant odor when I removed the tube was pronounced. But at least I had no skin issues. Still, I wouldn’t recommend wearing the Thunder for more than five days without removing it for a deep cleaning.

More disconcerting to me than the cleanliness factor are the urination issues while wearing the Thunder. I did fully expect to sit to pee, but thought the generously sized urine outlet would eliminate any urination issues. But it did not. In normal daily wear of any chastity device, the urethral opening of the penis never stays perfectly aligned with the urination outlet of the device. And I find that true of the Thunder. So, frequently, when I’ve urinated, I’ve noticed that the misalignment mentioned and the force of urine flow combines to cause urine to back up inside the tube. At times, judging from the sensations of warmth inside the tube, it feels urine backs up past the head of my penis. I’m not pee-phobic, but prefer not to soak my penis in the stuff. So, I don’t particularly care for this aspect of fully enclosed tubes. For that reason, as comfortable as the Thunder is to wear, it will never replace the open cage-style devices I typically wear on a continual basis.

Overall, based on the experiences I’ve shared here on the topic, I must rate the Thunder pretty low when it comes to the hygiene department. And it’s the only area I feel this device doesn’t truly shine.

Final Thoughts

Other than the hygiene issues I find problematic, the Steelworxx Thunder is an exceptionally well made, light weight, and super comfortable stainless-steel device that deserves consideration by those who prefer fully enclosed tube devices over the more open, cage-type devices.

At 149,00 € (about $152.00 USD) this is outstanding quality at a very reasonable and affordable price for a custom-made stainless-steel male chastity device. That’s less than the cost of many of the popular plastic chastity devices that are not even fully customizable, and half the price I’ve paid for many of my cage devices. Also, in comparison, the Thunder costs about $30 USD less than the more popular Steelheart model. But don’t forget, getting the Thunder with the integral lock option or a PA accessory will add to the base price.
