Man Trap Chastity Device Review

While the A086 cage worked pretty well for me once I got a larger base ring, there was one thing I didn’t like. The cage was a little over an inch too long for me. Also, the gap was a little too wide and as a result I had ball slippage a couple of times. Since it will still be several more weeks before I can expect to receive my Mature Metal Watchful Mistress cage, with LJ’s approval I ordered another cage to use during the interim. About a week later, I received the Man Trap (MT4889) from California vendor Koalaswim.

Intro

I was impressed with the Man Trap right out of the box. It seemed a quality build, constructed of surgical grade stainless steel. All cage interior and exterior surfaces were completely smooth. The gap was much narrower than that of the A086 I’d been wearing. And the gap was uniform all the way around. This was accomplished by setting the center locking pin about five degrees below horizontal. I was confident this device would not allow for slippage and I couldn’t wait to try it on.

However, after putting it on I immediately discovered that the narrow gap was too narrow for my high and tight scrotum. Things soon became unbearably uncomfortable. But, the cage itself fit so well I wasn’t about to give up on it so quickly. I took the base ring down to my shop, put it into a vice, and heated it with a torch. I then carefully bent the center locking post upwards to remove the five degree downward attitude. That opened up the gap, but still left it narrower than that of the A086. I put the base ring and cage back on after the adjustment and the fit was perfect.

I feel the adjustment I made would be necessary for guys with high and tight scrotum like mine to wear this device comfortably. But, for those with a longer scrotum and lower hanging balls the gap would probably be fine as it comes from the manufacturer. Fortunately, because of its high-quality construction, the adjustment is easily and safely made.

Meet the Man Trap

The Man Trap is another simple ball-trapping device is comprised of three parts.

1. Base ring.

2. Open-style vented stainless steel cage.

3. Brass padlock with two keys.

Base rings are available in the three standard off the shelf sizes – 2 in. (50mm), 1.75 in. (45mm), or 1.50 in. (40mm).

This cage is 2-inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide. The length is perfect for me, exactly the same length I ordered for my custom-made Mature Metal cage. This eliminates any extra room for attempted erections to get started and also makes peeing a much less risky proposition. I still sit to pee to err on the side of caution, but with my urethral opening properly aligned with the urination hole at the end of the cage, I have been able to pee normally while standing with little or no mess. With an average size penis, I find the cage snug, but not tight. I’m easily able to insert my flaccid penis fully into the cage without use of the stocking method. Once the cage is mated with the base ring and locked, it feels very secure.

Comfort

This is by far the most comfortable device I’ve worn since beginning with chastity. While steel, it is surprisingly lightweight. That means the base ring stays close to my body. Initially, I was a bit concerned the opening to the cage might cause chafing where it presses tightly against the scrotum. The reason is that the opening is not an actual ring, but a ring formed of flat steel and therefore has a thinner edge than other devices I’ve tried. But, happily I have had no chafing problems at all. It’s been a non-issue.

Security

As mentioned, I find the device very secure. I’m confident It would be very difficult, not to mention painful if I tried to pull out of it while locked. Of course, we accept that no ball-trapping device is one-hundred percent secure unless combined with a piercing. Where there is a will, there is almost always a way. Still, for someone serious about experiencing chastity who has no intention of attempting to defeat the device, I think this device is about as secure as it gets.

Hygiene

Thanks to the open-design, I’ve found the Man Trap simple to keep clean. Since urination is less problematic, I’ve not experienced any funky smells between cleanings. LJ generally requires me to go a week between unlocking for cleaning and maintenance so hygiene is always an important consideration for me.

Other impressions

Beyond the adjustment I found necessary to accommodate my high and tight scrotum, I can’t find anything to dislike about this device. It’s well made and comfortable to wear. Koalaswim describes the Man Trap as part of its exclusive “Handmade” collection. I’m unsure what that means exactly, whether it means they manufacture it in the U.S. or not. All, I can say it doesn’t look like any made in China device I’m familiar with. The standard of quality suggests it isn’t made in China. I’ll be happily wearing this device until my permanent custom-made device is delivered. It’s also great to know I have a well made, great fitting device to use should I ever need to send my Mature Metal device back for any adjustments.

Recommendation

For a guy looking for a well made, mid-range chastity device and for whom a 2-inch cage length is appropriate, I see no reason not to recommend this cage. Just remember if you have a high and tight scrotum you will probably have to make the minor adjustment I’ve described. At the time I published this review, it was available from Koalaswim for $69.00 plus shipping. It’s far superior to any of the cheap, made in China devices I’ve tried personally and I’ve had great experiences with Koalaswim both times I’ve made purchases from them.

Stainless Steel Chastity Device AO86 Review

Having worn this device almost continuously for the past two weeks, I’m ready to offer a review.

Intro

I originally ordered the AO86 with a 40mm (1.50 inch) base ring. When it arrived, try as I might, I was unable to get the base ring on. Assuming I just needed something larger, and not knowing at the time there was a place I could source a larger ring, I ordered an entirely different device with a 45mm (1.75 inch) ring, the Jailhouse.

After having problems with the Jailhouse, which you can read about here, in desperation, I turned to the AO86 once again. To my surprise, I was able to get the 40mm ring on without much effort. I attribute it to perhaps a little stretching of my scrotal area during the two days I was attempting to wear the other device. At any rate, by default, the AO86 became my device for my first venture into male chastity.

I found this device on eBay, constructed of surgical grade stainless steel, for around $14. While the 40mm base ring had been bearable, it became clear pretty quickly that it was tighter than it needed to be and was at times a little uncomfortable.

As soon as I received the 45mm stainless steel ring I sourced on the webs, LJ allowed me to replace the 40mm ring. Back in the device with the larger ring, it still feels just as secure but so much more comfortable.

Note this is yet another mass-produced, cheap, made in China cage. I’d found identical devices on two other online sites. So, I would be very surprised if it weren’t possible to find this same device on the websites of other chastity device retailers, pehaps even under a different model name.

Meet the AO86

The AO86 is comprised of only three parts.

1. Base ring.

2. Welded stainless steel cage with solid shower-head style end cap.

3. Cheap brass padlock with keys.

It’s just your basic balls capturing device. There are no adjustments and no sizing beyond your choice of the base ring size which is available in the standard sizes for off the shelf devices─40mm (1.50 in), 45mm (1.75 in), or 50mm (2.00 in)

The cage length is 60mm, with an inside diameter of 35mm (1-3/8 inches).

Fit

I have an average size penis, all around. When flaccid, but not shrunken, it’s generally about 2.5 inches long, so the AO86 is a little over an inch longer than I need. The tip of my penis only touches the end of the end cap when my peen is plumped.

However, I find the diameter of the cage perfect. It’s tight enough; I have to use the stocking method to get my penis deep into the cage. But, it has never felt too constricting. Since I started with chastity, I’ve never had any problem sleeping in it. I think that is largely because the cage is restrictive enough. It doesn’t allow attempted overnight erections to grow large enough to produce any discomfort. If the cage was an inch or so shorter, it would be a perfect fit for me. The takeaway, this device should work for most guys of average size who are only looking for an inexpensive, stainless steel device to get a first taste of being locked.

Comfort

First, the AO86 is surprisingly light for a stainless steel device. After two weeks, most of the time, I’m not even aware of it. It stays close to my body as it isn’t so heavy it pulls a lot on the base ring. The gap between the base ring and cage opening is small, about 3/8 inch. I have a scrotum that pulls up tight against the base of my peen and find the gap just about right. So, I expect it would work pretty much for anyone.

The only issue I’ve had is struggling to figure out exactly what size of base ring I really need. I have measured using the suggestions available at Mature Metal, but the results say I need a 50mm (2-inch) ring. Yet, having tried on a 2-inch steel ring, I can get easily get two fingers under it, which makes me feel it is too large. The 40mm ring I’ve worn for almost two weeks has been bearable, but a little too tight. I could barely get a fingertip beneath the ring when it was on. There were no circulatory problems, but I could tell it was tighter than it needed to be. The 45mm ring feels so much better and the security of the device has been unchanged since I changed out the rings. Over the coming days, I’m hopeful the larger ring will make this whole experience a lot less seamless.

Since the cage seems so close to a perfect fit, except for length, it doesn’t surprise me that overall it has been very comfortable to wear. The design pushes your cock downwards a bit, so the chastity bump is not noticeable in any of the casual clothing I usually wear. I’m a runner, and the device isn’t even noticeable when I’m wearing running shorts. I doubt it would even get me dick-checked in a gym though I have my own home gym so I don’t use the public ones.

For such a cheap cage, I’m impressed with the quality of manufacturing. Everything is smooth, with no sharp edges or rough spots anywhere on the device.

Security

I’m very pleased with the feeling of security wearing this standard ball-trapping device. As mentioned, the gap is small, which does a good job of keeping me in the cage. I know a lot of guys say how easy they can escape from any ball trapping device when soaped up in the shower, but looking at this device doesn’t make me confident I could do it. I might with effort be able to withdraw my peen, but I don’t think I’d even try pulling my nuts out. I have a very low pain threshold in that department. Anyway, I’m in chastity because I want to be, so unless it was some kind of ambulance calling emergency, I’m never going to try to escape from a device. So, this one is plenty secure as far as I’m concerned. It definitely isn’t going to just fall off of its own accord as long as you have on a properly sized base ring.

Hygiene

The open design makes keeping things tidy a snap with the AO86. I soap up and then use a handheld shower-head to clean up each morning and haven’t had any foul odors or other nasty hygiene issues. Everything feels clean once I’m done showering. The contents have remained a healthy looking pink and happy since I was locked.

Other impressions

There is only one small thing I don’t like about the AO86 besides the cage length being a bit long for me. I hate the solid shower-head type end cap. I’m sure the length is part of the problem because my tip is usually nowhere near the end of the tube when I need to pee. But, I think the shower-head cap is just a dumb idea. My experience is pee goes about everyplace you don’t want it to unless you’re sitting on a toilet. Even then, you sometimes get random splashes.

Funny thing is I was seriously looking at a Rigid Chastity device I really liked, but it has the same kind of solid end cap, shower-head design. No way I’m buying it now. Instead, I’ve ordered my first custom device from Mature Metal.

Recommendation

I’m just never going to give a full-on “go buy this” recommendation for any mass-produced, made in China device. I may be green, but it didn’t take me long to understand that sucking it up and spending what it takes to get a custom-fitted device is the only way to go if you intend spending a serious amount of time with your junk locked up. That said, if you’re only at the curious stage, you kind of want to see what it is like to have you dick locked in a chastity device, and you don’t want to spend a lot to get the experience, then this device is one I think you should consider.

It’s inexpensive, remarkably comfortable for the price, and so far the only made in China device I have personal experience with where I can say the workmanship far exceeds the price I paid for it. If I hadn’t had the money to order the Mature Metal custom device I’ll be getting in a few weeks, I could be happy wearing the AO86 indefinitely in spite of the two minor things I don’t like about it. My key holder likes it well enough too, except for the length. She tells me almost every day it’s too long, and that she likes seeing a well stuffed cage. I told her I didn’t sign up for small penis humiliation (grin). And, that’s my take.

The Jailhouse Review

While I only wore The Jailhouse for a few days, I decided to go ahead with this review since I probably won’t be wearing it again. Since I am now wearing another device to compare with it, I think I am able to offer a fair review.

Intro

I ordered The Jailhouse with a 45mm (1.75 inch) base ring which turned out to be too big for me. My right nut kept slipping out of the base ring as a result. But, in spite of the problems, a few days was long enough for me to realize I didn’t like the device enough to put money into another one with a smaller base ring. At least as far as I know, it isn’t possible to buy a replacement base ring only. That to me is one of the biggest problems with low quality, inexpensive chastity devices.

Note that this review covers only the version of The Jailhouse I purchased from a company in California. After ordering it, I learned similar (if not the same) device is available from many different vendors, though it may be called something other than The Jailhouse.

Regardless, all of the devices are steel knock off versions of the CB-6000. They are all made in China, maybe by multiple manufacturers. We all know what that means when we’re talking about male chastity devices. Cheap, low quality, but maybe okay for guys only curious about trying out male chastity, or someone who only wants a device for short-term bedroom play. In other words, China makes devices useful to experiment with for those unwilling or not yet ready to make the required substantial investment in a quality, custom-made male chastity device.

Here are just a few other vendors I found that sell similar (if not the same) metal versions of the CB-6000, including Amazon, like the one I ordered.

Meet The Jailhouse

The Jailhouse is comprised of six parts

1. Multi-part steel base ring with an open top.
2. A half-moon piece with two outside posts attached to it. The piece goes on the back (body side) of the ring. It closes the gap at the top to make the ring a complete circle.
3. A smaller half-moon piece that goes on the front over the three front posts. It also acts as a spacer.
4. Removable center pin with a hole drilled at the front to accept a lock.
5. A small spacer (about 1/2 inch in length) that slides over the center post before you mate up the cage.
6. Full solid cage with side vent holes and urine outlet.

If you’re familiar with the CB-6000, you probably see some familiar looking parts in the above image. If you want a side-by-side comparison view of the CB-6000 and this device, there is an image you can look at in this post.

Fit

Unlike the actual CB-6000, there are no multiple fitting combinations with this steel knock off version. The only option you get is the base ring size which is offered in 40mm (1.5 inch), 45mm (1.75 inch), or 50mm (2 inch). Only one ring comes with the device, so you need to know the correct size when ordering. Beyond the base ring, what you see is what you get.

I ordered a 45mm base ring, mostly because I’d previously ordered another cheap, Chinese made device with a 40mm base ring and hadn’t been able to get the ring on. I assumed I needed the next larger size. But, once I received The Jailbird and wore it for a day it became obvious that the 45mm ring was too big for me. Another problem I noticed is since the base ring is made up of three parts there is some play in it which exacerbated the fact the ring was already too big. After wearing The Jailhouse for a second full day, things had stretched just enough that my right ball kept slipping out of the base ring. Not a good look when trying to impress your first keyholder.

The cage length is 7cm (2.76 inches) and the diameter is 35mm (1.38 inches). Having never owned an actual CB-6000, I can’t say how those measurements compare between the two devices. I am pretty sure the cage with this device is meant to imitate the shorter CB-6000 cage. I have an average size penis. No, seriously, it’s average. The length of the cage was a little more than I needed. The tip of my penis never bottomed out. The diameter seemed about right. I had to use the stocking method to draw my penis into the cage. But, once inside it didn’t feel too tight while at the same time there wasn’t much extra room. So, for guys like me with an average size dick, the cage dimensions are probably going to be acceptable.

Comfort

With a solid steel cage, this is a heavy device. It didn’t feel like a burden to wear it exactly, but it was heavier than I had expected. I ordered it because it sort of has a draconian look to it, sort of like a Spartan helmet which appeals to me. But, as soon as I put it on the first time I was already concerned it was too heavy to comfortably be locked in during my daily fitness runs.

Honestly, I think if I’d bought this device with a 40mm base ring, it would have probably mostly worked for what I had in mind. I wanted a ball-trapping male chastity device to use for a thirty-day introduction to enforced male chastity to see whether it was something I wanted long-term. I already knew if I decided I did, I’d replace it with a high-quality, custom-fitted device.

The Jailhouse was generally comfortable enough. I didn’t experience any kind of chafing issues or pinching. I did really like the feel of the base ring which is wider than the more common basic steel base rings. The edges are smooth and beveled.

Security

Obviously, no ball-trapping device without a PA ring is completely secure. If you’re determined to take it off while locked, you can find a way to do it. But, with the right size base ring I feel it is as secure as other devices of similar quality. But, as my experiences showed, if you get a base ring that is too big, your balls can pop out of it.

Hygiene

The Jailhouse has side vents and a big slot opening at the end for urination. Both of these features I expect would allow you to get plenty of clean, soapy water into it while it’s being worn. I didn’t wear it long enough to try showering with it on, so I’m only speculating here.

Since the tip of my penis didn’t reach the end, my urethral opening didn’t often line up with the slot. That meant I couldn’t pee while standing, and peeing while sitting still resulted in more of a spray effect than a stream. Even doing the best I could to clean up after peeing, after the third or fourth time I had to go while wearing it I started to smell the odor of urine on me. That’s definitely not something I like. I expect if your flaccid dick doesn’t reach near the end of the tube where the slot is, the interior gets exposed to enough urine it gets dirty no matter what you do. The odor soon follows.

Other impressions

The quality of The Jailhouse wasn’t exceptional, but I find it generally well designed and built considering it is a cheap, mass-produced, China produced knock off product. But I have a few issues with it quality-wise.

First, it was advertised as stainless steel at the site I ordered it from. If it truly is, it’s low grade, certainly not surgical grade. The exterior of mine is highly polished which makes me suspect it might be chrome plated steel, not stainless steel at all. But, I’m no metallurgical expert by any stretch.

The interior of the tube is not polished, but it’s smooth and I did not find any burrs or rough spots. Still that screams low quality.

Everything fit together as designed, but as noted there was a little play in the multi-part base ring. That happens with any assembled machined metal product without tight tolerances. Again, it shows lack of quality.

Recommendation

Even though choosing the wrong size base ring was my error, I don’t think I’d have liked The Jailhouse much even with the right size ring. I certainly won’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality male chastity device.

I’d rather have a complete base ring than one made of three parts because of the play in the one that comes with The Jailhouse. I think that is real weakness of this device. Maybe it works with plastic as with the CB-6000, but it doesn’t work well with metal.

Overall, in my opinion this device is meant more as a novelty or sex toy than for serious, long-term male chastity. On the other hand, if you’re only looking for an inexpensive option for short-term play or exploration, it’s probably about as good as any of the other China produced metal chastity devices. You can lock up your cock in it, so it serves the purpose it’s designed for. It’s reasonably secure as long as you get the right size base ring.
