House of Denial Hera XS Chastity Device Review

It’s time for my long promised House of Denial Hera XS chastity device review. The Hera, part of the Olympus Collection, is a new, sleek 3D printed offering designed in-house by the House of Denial team, manufactured in the UK, and sold exclusively by the company.

The House of Denial Hera XS chastity device is part of the company’s new Olympus Collection, a collection of ergonomic, CMR-free, 3D printed male chastity devices. At the time of this post, the Hera was available in white or black. The six sizes range from XS to XXL, and there are two lock options, barrel lock (i.e., MagicLock type) or hexlock screw system. I wear tested the black Hera XS (extra small) with a barrel lock for this review.

An Alternative to the Kink3D Cobra?

My Kink3D Cobra N fits well and has performed flawlessly but because I often enjoy the sensations wearing shorter cages provide by forcing my flaccid penis to “turtle,” I was considering ordering a Cobra Baby model as soon as I could justify the spend. I didn’t expect I would wear the Baby often, but I wanted to satisfy my curiosity after reading the positive reviews from others on Reddit who enjoy wearing shorter cages and had tried the Baby. But before I got around to ordering one, I discovered a new 3D printed device that was getting some rave reviews of its own, the House of Denial Hera XS device.

When I visited the website and checked the specifications, I felt sure the Hera XS was very comparable in size to the Cobra Baby and was almost $40 cheaper. So, instead of ordering the Baby, I ordered the Hera XS instead.

The House of Denial device did not disappoint. On the surface, the Hera looks similar to the Cobra. But on closer examination, you see the device is a unique chastity device, not another attempt to copy the Cobra. The first time I handled mine and put it on, I knew the quality nylon material used to make the Hera and the satin smooth finish were every bit as good as that of my Cobra device. Without reservation, I say that the Cobra, often imitated but never duplicated, now has some serious competition.

Hera XS Physical Details

I ordered the Hera XS in black, but the device also comes in white, which I plan to get next. This device, which I find quite comparable to my Cobra N, is marginally lighter but just as solidly made. While I ordered mine with an integral lock, it is also available with dual hex head locking screws. As shown in the image above, instead of perfectly round, the base ring is wide at the top and tapers toward the bottom, which I find more comfortable than the circular base ring that came with my Cobra N. I also feel that the Hera gap is a more comfortable fit. In my opinion, the quality of workmanship with the Hera is every bit as good as you will find with the Cobra 3D printed devices. My device fits perfectly and the connection between the cage and base ring is tight with zero play. Once I snap the cage into the two receptacles on the base ring, I don’t need to hold the components together while inserting the lock because they stay together.

I was super impressed with the packaging. House of Denial ships the Hera in a reusable storage box along with a red velvet drawstring bag that holds the base ring, barrel lock, and keys.

Comfort and Feel of the Hera XS

As mentioned, the Hera weighs slightly less than the Cobra. The base ring and interior of the cage finish feels satisfyingly, silky smooth. It’s the most comfortable 3D printed device I’ve worn since the Cobra. It felt comfortable the first time I put it on and stayed that way. It feels as secure as it gets with a standard ball-trap device, none of which are absolutely inescapable without the added security of a body piercing.

I particularly appreciated the more generously sized urine outlet. The design helps keep your urethral opening aligned with the urine outlet making it possible to pee in the usual way without too much concern for missing the target.

The tapered-design of the ring I mentioned, keeps the device firmly against my lower abdomen except when my penis tries to grow erect. That tapering-effect also helps keep the base ring properly positioned around the scrotum. With the Cobra, I frequently have to readjust the base ring because it allows my balls to gradually ride up against the ring until it gets uncomfortable.

Hera Size Guide

On the company’s website, unlike Kink3D, House of Denial provides complete device specifications to help you choose the correct size device for your specific measurements. I ordered the Hera XS with the intention of getting a size comparable to the Cobra Baby because I often enjoy shorter devices that force my shaft to “turtle” inside my lower abdominal cavity. But the Hera XS in my estimation is actually designed for those with a flaccid length of 1.25 to 2 inches. My average flaccid length (not shriveled) is 3 inches. The Hera XS produces a “turtling” effect of about an inch for me. That’s sufficient to give me the satisfying feeling of compression I enjoy from shorter devices. If I wasn’t looking for that compression effect, I think the Hera M (Medium) would be my ideal size.

While Kink3D offers the Cobra in eight sizes, House of Denial offers the Hera in six. My guess is the company aimed at producing alternative devices for the six most popular Cobra sizes and eliminated two of the Cobra sizes, most likely the Cobra N and Cobra S+. Here are my rough guess estimates about equivalent sizes between the Hera and Cobra.

Hera XS – Cobra Baby

Hera S – Cobra N+

Hera M – Cobra S

Hera L – Cobra R

Hera XL – Cobra R+

Hera XXL – Cobra BFG

Remember, these are only guesses. I don’t have examples of all the devices to make side-by-side comparisons. And, to protect intellectual rights, Kink3D doesn’t provide device specifications. But I think my estimations are pretty close and you could probably use the above and the Kink3D Cobra size guide to choose a Hera that fits you. Still, I recommend instead that you take an accurate measurement of your flaccid length and girth and then compare your specifics to the specifications House of Denial publishes on the website to get the perfect fit.

House of Denial offers more Hera base ring size options than Kink3D, twelve to the Cobra’s eight. The Hera base rings all come in even metric diameters, so those who own a Cobra and might consider getting a Hera may not find the same diameter base ring. In my case, I wear the 44.5mm base ring with my Cobra but the slightly larger 45mm base ring with the Hera. The difference is so negligible that I don’t even notice it.

Hera cage internal diameters start with 34mm (XS), increases to 36mm with the Hera S (small), and then increase to the maximum, 38mm, for all other sizes. The 36mm or 38mm sizes would be more ideal for me, but 34mm has felt fine, just a bit tight.

Hygiene Considerations When Wearing the Hera

Like Cobra devices, the Hera has a “birdcage” style design with plenty of ventilation openings that allows me to keep the contents reasonably clean using a hand-held shower head. I’ve worn my Cobra device for an entire month on several occasions without removing it for cleaning and see no reason I couldn’t do the same with the Hera. And, as mentioned, the extra generous size of the urination outlet means I can pee while standing while wearing it with little concern about spraying the wall or floor.

Final Thoughts

The House of Denial Hera XS is an impeccably well designed and well-made chastity device. It’s marginally lighter than the Cobra and super comfortable. It’s a device that deserves serious consideration by those seeking a high-quality 3D printed plastic cage-style device, especially those looking to save some money over buying a Cobra.

At £99.99 ($123.80 USD when this post was published), the Hera XS offers outstanding quality at a reasonable and affordable price, and at about $36 less than the comparably sized Cobra Baby. And unlike Kink3D’s pricing model, where the price increases along with device size, the Hera comes at the same price regardless of the size you select. So on the larger sizes, you can save even more. In comparison, I feel the Hera matches up well with the Cobra in every single category.

I have only one minor complaint about the Hera. As someone who uses only remote keyholders, I love the Kink3D Airlock accessory that allows me to lock the Cobra N securely using the disposable plastic numbered locks. That’s the option most remote keyholders prefer. Since the devices use the same internal barrel lock, I had expected I could use the Airlock with the Hera. I was wrong. The lock receptacle on the Hera has slightly less depth, just enough that the Airlock pin won’t go completely in. So, wearing the Hera for a keyholder means I would have to go back to using some less convenient method to secure the keys to give my keyholder confidence I wasn’t accessing the keys without permission.

That’s the bad news. But there is some good news. A House of Denial representative told me recently that the team is already working on designing an accessory that will perform the same function as the Airlock and will allow use of the plastic numbered tags directly on the Hera device. I’m eager to get my hands on one as soon as the accessory becomes available.

I really like the white color option, and my next device will be a white Hera. House of Denial says the company is also planning to offer the device in other colors in the future. I like this device so much I’m not sure I will ever be able to justify the spend for another Cobra. I think I have already found my go to 3D printed device option with the Hera.

Disclaimer: This review represents my own honest opinions. I purchased this device at the full retail price using my own funds, and I have no affiliation with House of Denial other than being a satisfied customer.

KINK3D Cobra N Review

A look at what I thought of the KINK3D Cobra N after a shorter-than-expected wear-test period.

Because I’m now locked by a keyholder, I had to cut short my wear-testing of the KINK3D Cobra N. My keyholder insists I use a device that can be secured with disposable plastic numbered tag and other alternatives are not up for debate.

Since we have only just become acquainted, I understand and respect her opinion on the matter. So, I replaced the Cobra N with one of my stainless steel devices that allows the use of the plastic locks. Still, with only a few days of wear, I feel confident I can already express an honest opinion on this KINK3D authentic Cobra device.

First Impressions of the Cobra N

I chose the Cobra N model to review for two reasons. First, it is the same size as my Badassworkroom HF-001 E1B, the shorter version of the two Badassworkroom devices I have that are patterned on the Cobra. The difference is the Cobra N is 3D-printed, while the Badassworkroom devices that copy the Cobra design are molded resin devices. Interestingly, the Badassworkroom has discontinued offering the HF-001 devices and they are no longer available from the main website or its Etsy store.

The other reason I chose the Cobra N is because it is the shortest cage KINK3D offers with the “wide girth” option. I wanted that instead of the standard size (similar to my HF-001 E1B) because I have a thicker than average flaccid penis. And I’m happy I chose the wide girth option because while my flaccid penis still fills the space, it feels so much more comfortable and less restrictive. KINK3D offers one shorter cage version called the Baby Cobra, but the wide girth isn’t available with that device. Otherwise, I would have felt tempted to order the Baby Cobra instead.

I loved the smooth tactile feel on my fingertips of the Cobra right out of the box. Although I truly like the Badassworkroom copies I have, the texture of the Cobra feels silky smooth in comparison. And it felt exactly the same when I put on the device for the first time. It fit like a glove and was so lightweight that it was virtually unnoticeable. The standard 3/8 inch gap works perfectly for my high and tight scrotum. I also liked that I could wear the Cobra comfortably with the base ring that most closely matches the size I use with my custom-made stainless steel devices.

Cobra N Specifications

Unlike other chastity device manufacturers, KINK3D does not publish size specifications on the lengths of its device cages. Possibly this is aimed at preventing other manufacturers from copying their exact designs. Instead, they recommend cage size based on the users’ flaccid penis measurements.

As an example, the company recommends the Cobra N for those with flaccid lengths from 2 to 2-1/2 inches. Flaccid length varies near constantly because of environmental factors, variations in resting blood supply to the penis, hormonal activity, etc. As I have shared before, my flaccid varies from 2.5 inches to a little over 3 inches and I find the Cobra N still fits me perfectly. Just about anyone with a flaccid size, even well over 2-1/2 inches, could wear the Cobra N comfortably since “turtling” would take care of any excess length. But KINK3D offers the Cobra in eight sizes to accommodate flaccid sizes from 1.25 inches (Cobra Baby) to 6 inches (Cobra BFG). Consult the KINK3D website if you are interested in learning what size the company recommends for all the length ranges.

Cage Inside Diameter

KINK3D also does not reveal the exact internal diameter measurements for its cages. Instead, the company suggests its three available internal diameters based on flaccid penis girth.

They recommend the “Narrow” option for those with thinner than average flaccid penises (available with the Baby, N+, and S models). The company recommends the “Standard” option (available with all models) for those with flaccid penises of average girth. The third option, “Wide” (available with N, N+, S, S+, R, and R+ models), is aimed at those with thicker than average flaccid penises. Standard works for most individuals and is the place to start unless you know from experience with other devices that Narrow or Wide would suit you better.

Base Ring Sizing

KINK3D offers no specific advice on measuring for base ring size. Instead they tell you to rely on your past experience with other devices or advise you to consult existing references available on the web. So, knowing my ideal base ring size is 43mm, I chose the KINK3D Nubmber 2 base ring, which is minutely larger at 44.5mm and fits well.

I won’t reprint the list here for the sake of brevity, but KINK3D offers eight different base ring sizes that range from 1-1/2 inches (38.1mm) to 2-3/8 inches (60.3mm). You can review all the available sizes here on the company’s website.

The company also offers three different styles of base rings:

XD – thicker than the standard 8mm rings and recommended for those with smaller testicles or who need a narrower gap between the base ring and cage.

Standard – 8mm thickness and works for most people.

Curved – 5mm backward curve at the bottom. The curved ring is good for troubleshooting pressure under the scrotum. But KINK3D warns that people with smaller testicles can be more likely to pop a testicle out through the wider gap.

I purchased an extra ring with my device because I wanted to try the curved ring. Pressure under the scrotum is the only discomfort I ever have with any chastity device and is especially pronounced when my cremaster muscles are intent because of environmental conditions on pulling my testicles up and closer to my body. My testicles are average size, not small, but with the curved ring, my right testicle kept popping out of the base ring. The curved ring eased all the pressure under my scrotum, but is unusable since my right testicle refuses to cooperate. The standard ring of the same diameter works perfectly. My recommendation is to stick with the standard base ring.

Security of the Cobra N

Cobra devices are standard “ball-trap” devices, and no ball-trap device is escape proof. While KINK3D claims a well-fitted Cobra minimizes the chance of escape, I must tell you the truth. The Cobra has the same security flaw as all the Cobra copies I’ve tried before testing the actual Cobra.

By placing a thumb between the integral lock housing and my abdomen and pushing outward, I can easily push the ring and cage away from body until I expose almost half of my flaccid penis length. Then, using the index finger of my other hand, I can easily back my soft penis out of the cage and out the back of the base ring. Once my penis is free of the device, my right testicle easily comes out of the base ring and then the left testicle comes out and I’m free of the locked device.

If I did not remove my testicles from the base ring, I could push my soft penis back inside the cage. But when I removed the device completely, I could not put it back on without unlocking it. That means a wearer could back their penis out of the locked device, and while leaving their testicles inside the base ring, masturbate to orgasm, and then put their penis back inside the cage after becoming flaccid again.

So, for those willing to cheat a keyholder (and themselves), the Cobra does little to prevent it. Still, for those who are serious about chastity and ethical enough to keep their commitments to a keyholder, the Cobra offers adequate security. It definitely will not fall off by itself. But as one example, the Holy Trainer devices offer far more deterrence against cheating than the KINK3D Cobra devices.

PA Piercing Compatibility

KINK3D states the Cobra is generally compatible with PA piercings. This is the FAQ information they have published on the website to the question, “Are Cobra cages compatible with a Prince Albert (PA) piercing?”

“Generally yes. PA piercings up to 2 gauge size should be compatible with all standard Cobra cages (with the exception of the Baby Cobra Narrow, which can only accommodate 6 gauge PAs and smaller). PAs that are 0 gauge or larger may fit on certain cage sizes, but can be a tight squeeze.” (Source: https://kink3d.com/apps/help-center#hc-do-you-make-your-cages-for-people-with-a-pa).

However, I’ve read several reviews written by individuals (including Thumper) who have PA piercings and have tried the Cobra devices who all say that while the devices work with PA piercings, they often experienced instances of unpleasant pinching. So, this device may not be the best option for those with a PA.

Yes, I'm back in black

One thing I loved about Badassworkroom HF-001 Cobra copies were the vibrant colors the company offered. I have one in a light purple color and one in hot pink. In comparison, KINK3D offers the actual Cobra in black only. Information on the website suggests they are testing dyes and may offer additional colors in the future, but that information has been published for a while now, so I’m unsure how committed they are to the idea.

Pricing Considerations

The KINK3D Cobra devices are not the priciest plastic devices on the market, but they are not cheap. That explains why so many people opt for buying the less expensive copies from other manufacturers. Prices range from $160 (Cobra Baby) to $200 (Cobra BFG) for the full kits that include one base ring, the cage, and the integral lock with two keys.

I paid $170 for the Cobra N plus another $40 for the extra curved base ring. KINK3D sells cages and base rings separately. If, for example, I wanted to try the Baby Cobra, I could just buy the cage and use it with the base ring they came with my Cobra N. But the component pricing is also pricey. If you bought a cage and a base ring separately, the combined cost would equal the price of buying a complete kit, only you would not get a lock with it.

Since I’m not in the business of manufacturing 3D-printed chastity devices, I don’t know what it costs to produce a Cobra. But I have a fake Cobra I purchased from eBay about a year ago which is 3D-printed, came with four different sized base rings, and cost me less than $30. It is a very faithful reproduction, so much so that the base rings fit my actual Cobra N perfectly. And both devices have the same silky feel regarding finish and how they feel when wearing them. That leaves me wondering how much of the KINK3D prices represents profit. 3D printers are not inexpensive, so I know they have some sunk costs, but I think their prices are higher than necessary. Especially now that many options for quality 3D-printed chastity devices exist.

Frankly, I like the Cobra N device and find it comfortable to wear. But in comparison, I consider my Holy Trainer Nub, a comparable sized device that was $5 cheaper, a far superior device in almost every way. Except for my interest in reviewing the Cobra, I doubt I would have ever paid $170 for a Cobra N, especially since I already have the Badassworkroom copy that performs identically.

That said, now that I have the Cobra N, I know I will wear it often. In fact, I just ordered the KINK3D accessory called the airlock, which is a metal-free lock adapter you can use with disposable numbered plastic locks in place of the standard lock. No more worries about metal detectors when you travel and in my case, I hope my new keyholder will allow me to wear the Cobra N with the airlock and a plastic lock since I don’t like wearing my stainless steel devices secured with plastic locks since they allow the cages to rotate excessively on the locking pins.

Hygiene Concerns

The one area in which the Cobra N outshines the Holy Trainer Nub is ease of cleaning while wearing it. Since it is an open-type cage style device, I found I can clean it just as easily and thoroughly in the shower with my handheld shower head as any of my stainless steel open cage devices. That means I can wear it indefinitely with no need for removing it for cleaning as I must do with the closed tube Nub.

The Verdict

I think the KINK3D Cobra devices are a little pricier than necessary since they are basic plastic ball-trap devices, and the devices provide less deterrence to cheating than other plastic devices of comparable quality and price. But I have no other criticisms as the Cobra is a high quality, made in the USA device that is comfortable to wear and will not injure the wearer provided the person takes the time to measure and gets a properly fitted device. And as soon as I receive the airlock accessory, I hope to persuade my keyholder to allow me to return to wearing the Cobra N.

Me Waiting Patiently for my Airlock

In the next post, I will share a little about my new keyholder. We met on a video call for the lock up and she quickly removed any doubts I might have had about her sadistic nature. I’m still applying a frozen bag of peas today between my legs. But it was worth it because I got to actually see her and learned that she is impossibly attractive and projects her authentic dominant nature even virtually. I may have found the keyholder of my dreams.

Holy Trainer Nub V5 Review

My review of the Holy Trainer Nub V5, the latest edition of the Swiss chastity device maker’s popular bio-resin based, light-weight micro-chastity device.

First Impressions of the Holy Trainer Nub V5

Usually, I’ll wear a new device for at least ten days before writing a review. But in this case, I’ve owned a Holy Trainer Nub V4 for a long while and, spoiler alert, after six days in the V5 model, I have observed no noticeable differences. It remains, hands down, one of the most comfortable plastic devices I’ve tried, thanks to the ergonomic design. And the quality is second to none. I also own a Holy Trainer Nano, but I much prefer the compact fit of the Nub, which is why I chose it for my review of the V5 model.

After studying my Nub V5 and V4 thoroughly, side by side, I couldn’t see any changes in the design except for the new integrated lock that the V5 features. It’s a push-button affair that uses a barrel key. This is a key with a hollow shaft used to open tubular pin tumbler locks. These locks are used on various types of equipment. A soda vending machine is one application where most people might have noticed this type of lock.

You only need the key to open the integrated lock since, after mating the penis tube to the base ring, you simply push the button in the center of the lock to lock the device. There is a small hole drilled into the top of the penis tube, where it slides into the receiver molded into the top of the base ring. Pushing the lock button extends a small metal pin into the hole, locking the two components together. I consider the new lock an improvement that makes it even easier to mate the tube and base ring. Like all chastity devices using “MagicLocker” type locks (the type used with the V4), occasionally there is a minor misalignment that makes it difficult to insert the lock into the hole. The new integrated lock featured on the V5 model eliminates this potential issue.

Device Specifications

As shown in the above illustration, the full length (Length A) of the Nub tube is 2.2 inches (57mm). As most penis owners know from experience, flaccid lengths vary almost constantly. Having measured for several custom-made devices, on average, my flaccid length ranges between 2.5 and 3 inches. I always use 2.5 inches as the starting point when ordering a custom device. And then, depending on the device, I subtract .25 to .50 inches. That ensures the tip of my penis is always touching the end of the tube or cage and my urethral opening stays properly positioned at the urine outlet. And I don’t mind the minor turtling effect that happens when my flaccid length grows closer to 3 inches. So, the length of the Nub gives me the exact fit I want.

For those with longer flaccid lengths, Holy Trainer offers four other tube lengths:

  • Nano | 80 mm (3.1 inch)
  • Small | 85 mm (3.3 inch)
  • Standard | 95 mm (3.7 inch)
  • Maxi | 109 mm (4.3 inch)

Those options will cover most individuals, providing the internal diameter of Holy Trainer devices is sufficient, which I’ll cover next. But, as long as you aren’t bothered by “turtling” most guys, regardless of flaccid length, can wear the Nub. If the tub is shorter than your average length, when you mate the tube to the base ring, it will just push the excess length inside your abdomen. Most don’t find that uncomfortable.

Internal Diameter

The internal diameter of the Nub (and all other Holy Trainer devices except the Maxi) is 33 mm (1.3 inches). The Maxi internal diameter is slightly larger at 35 mm (1.4 inches). While I’m very average in length, my flaccid penis is thicker than average, and the internal diameter of the Nub tube is a little tight for me. The 35mm would fit me perfectly. So, the tube compresses me slightly. It still works for me and isn’t uncomfortable, but for someone even thicker than average, the 1.3 inches internal diameter will probably not work even if you could squeeze your flaccid penis into the tube.

Base Ring Sizing

Holy Trainer base ring sizing is a little different from what you might be accustomed to with other devices. They recommend measuring using the traditional string-method, the distance around the base of the penis and behind the scrotum. Then they have a chart that suggests base ring size within a range, based on your measurement.

As an example, my measurement in almost exactly 7 inches. So, consulting the sizing chart on the Holy Trainer website shows I fall in the range between 6.42 to 7.03 inches and they suggest ring size 55. That’s the size I ordered with my Nub V4 and found it was too large and allowed my right testicle to pop out of the base ring. So, I ordered ring size 50, and that worked perfectly.

My Holy Trainer Nub base ring size is a little larger than the ring size I wear with my custom made stainless steel devices and I need the larger size. That’s because of the design of the Nub. When you connect the tub to the base ring, it presses the tube into the scrotum a little, forcing your testicles outward. I need the larger base ring size to accommodate that, or it soon feels very uncomfortable. So, base ring sizing for the Nub isn’t as straightforward as picking a size from the chart. It’s probably best to follow the chart recommendation on their website as a beginning point. But be aware you might have to drop a size to get the right fit. If you have an earlier model, as I do, it simplifies things since you already know the size you need. And, if you’re new to HT and get the wrong size, they sell tubes and base rings separately as well as complete units. So, you can, as I did, always order a different size base ring. But for the V5 model, it isn’t cheap. Base rings go for $71.

Bases rings and tubes are fully interchangeable as long as it’s the same model. If you buy a Nub V5 and later decide you want a Nano or Small tube, you can just buy the tube and use it with your Nub V5 base ring. But parts from older versions don’t interchange with newer versions. Nub V4 parts won’t work with Nub V5 parts and Nub V3 parts didn’t work with Nub V4 parts.

One thing I love about HT base rings is they are thicker than garden variety base rings and ergonomically shaped, which makes them super comfortable.

Nub V4 Versus Nub V5

Having worn both, I find no difference in the design or fit. So, if you have a Nub V4, I can’t give you a good reason to buy a V5. The new style lock gets convenience points and is sort of cool, but unless you’re dying to try out the push button lock like I was, or simply want a different color, the design as far as I can determine is exactly the same otherwise.

If you are considering buying a Nub for the first time, then it boils down to what kind of locking mechanism you want. If you’re happy with or just prefer the “MagicLocker” Holy Trainer still sells the V4 model on its website. But don’t expect to save a few bucks by opting for the older model. The price for both models (full set) is the same, $165 for the basic colors (clear, black, baby pink) and $185 if you want one of the many custom colors on offer. The Nub V4 tubes alone cost the same as the V5 tubes, but the V4 base rings alone are considerably cheaper. And remember, the V4 and V5 parts won’t interchange.

Security of the Holy Trainer Nub V5

Holy Trainer chastity devices are “ball-trap” devices, and no ball-trap device is escape proof. But a well-fitted Nub minimizes the chance of escape. And I think Holy Trainer devices are more secure than many other plastic device options. The tightness of the tube and the way the tube extends through the base ring and a little beyond makes it very difficult to back your flaccid penis out of the tube from behind the base ring.

I didn’t even attempt it with the V5 because when I did that with my V4, I found it both difficult and slightly uncomfortable. Also, when I managed to back my penis out of the tube, I still wasn’t able to get my testicles free of the base ring. No doubt, with enough lubrication and determination, someone could do it. But I wasn’t willing to endure the pain to get the locked device completely off my testicles.

The only way to fully secure a penis in a ball-trap device is to use a piercing, such as a Prince Albert (PA), to actually lock the head of the penis inside the tube or cage. I can’t imagine there is enough room inside the tube of a Nub to accommodate a PA ring or that you could use any aftermarket locking device with the device. But, if you’re serious about chastity, you wouldn’t want to cheat by escaping from a locked device. So, for most, the HT Nub is secure enough.

Hygiene Considerations

Essentially a closed tube with only a urine outlet at the end, the Nub is a device that you must remove periodically to clean your genitals and the device. You can’t flush it through the urine outlet well enough to accomplish any effective cleaning. And over time, urine, semen, and dead skin cells will build up, making it an unhealthy environment for your peen. I remove mine once a week for cleaning and after wearing it a week, the smell it pretty ripe when you pull the tube off.

While almost impossible to clean effectively while wearing, the Nub is simple to clean with soap and water after you take it off. So, I don’t give it low marks for hygiene since it does not differ from other closed tube devices.

The Nub also has a generously sized urine outlet. So, as long as you take care to align your urethral opening properly, it minimizes getting urine inside the cage. I’m pretty adept at peeing while standing while wearing the Nub, but mishaps sometimes occur. So sitting to pee is the best practice.

Price

Given the quality of the materials and craftsmanship, I think Holy Trainer has priced its devices fairly for off-the-shelf, mass market devices that will work well for most individuals. But some may find $165 for a plastic, non-custom chastity device pricier than others. For that reason, Holy Trainer Nubs are one of the most copied plastic chastity devices. Some sellers of counterfeit models, at least acknowledge their devices aren’t authentic Holy Trainer devices. But I know of one retailer who has not only ripped off the design but markets their copies as genuine Holy Trainer devices.

I understand the temptation to buy a counterfeit instead of paying $165 for the original. Copies are available at a fraction of that price. But ethical considerations aside, there are many other reasons not to buy a counterfeit Nub. You won’t get the Holy Trainer quality of workmanship and the material of the device won’t be what they use. Even the “MagicLocker” type locks will be cheap imitations.

Spend some time on one of the many active online chastity forums and you will read plenty of stories of what can go wrong when people buy fake Nubs. I read a post today on one site where a guy was asking for advice about how to get the device off because the key turned but the lock wouldn’t unlock. I’ve also heard that many of the cheap imitations have sharp edges where the tube slides into the base ring receiver that have cut people when they were putting on or taking off the devices. Buying a counterfeit Holy Trainer like device is definitely a “you get what you pay for” situation.

Badassworkroom HF001 Resin Chastity Device Review

I’ve long been an avid fan of Badassworkroom and the company’s custom made steel chastity devices. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the two custom devices I’ve ordered from them so far. So, when I discovered they now offer a line of colorful resin devices, obviously “inspired” by KINK3D’s Cobra chastity cages, I had to try one. These cages, dubbed the HF-001 model, are available in five sizes. I chose the D1 size for this review. As far as I know, these are molded resin devices, not 3D-printed, but these devices are of high quality, smooth without any seams, and I love all the colorful options.

The last time I reviewed a device “inspired” by KINK3D’s Cobra chastity cages, I heard from a few guys who disapproved. One said he felt I had done a disservice to KINK3D by reviewing a device, clearly copying their design. I understand that opinion, and it isn’t wrong. However, as I’ve explained before, I try to review a variety of devices at different price points as I can imagine some guys simply can’t invest $155 to $185 in the devices KINK3D offers, but would like to get a similar product. And at the time I published that review, the made in China “knock-off” devices sold for between $9.99 and $16.99 depending on what seller someone chose. That device was truly a “knock-off” in that the manufacturer not only copied the design and manufactured the devices with 3D-print technology, they also copied the KINK3D nomenclature, using “Cobra” in the device’s name. Sure, they added two additional words, calling it the Cobra Male Chastity Lock, but just like the fake Holy Trainers that even had “Holy Trainer” stamped on them, I’m guessing they hoped to convince potential buyers in the same way they were getting the real deal at bargain basement prices.

While you can look at Badassworkroom’s HF-001 and see the obvious similarities with the Cobra, the company isn’t engaging in unethical marketing by representing the device as a Cobra. They aren’t trying to fool anyone. And it isn’t 3D-printed. Is that enough for the HF-001 to fall more into the inspired than the copied category? That’s your call to make. My take is if you want to buy an original KINK3D, made in the USA high-quality 3D-printed device and you’re willing to spend the $155 to $185, I applaud you. And if you like the style but can’t justify the significant investment and a similar product at a lower price that performs the same function satisfies you, I see no shame in it. I find it hard to believe copied devices take much business from the original creators. Someone who wants an original Cobra and can afford the cost isn’t likely to buy a copied version. And those who buy copied versions I doubt would have ever bought an original anyway. Using me as an example, I prefer steel devices and while I don’t doubt that KINK3D products are terrific and worth every penny, I’m in the camp of those who wouldn’t consider paying $155 to $185 to get one. So, to each his own.

HF-001 Chastity Device Specifications

Compared to the KINK3D device, available in eight sizes, the Badassworkroom offers the HF-001 in five sizes. I chose the D1, which is comparable to the Cobra N+ in size. The D-1 is a size smaller than the first Cobra-like device I tried and reviewed. While that one fit the length of my flaccid peen, if you read the review, I had an annoying issue with it. When my penis shrunk, as they do with the male organ’s constant state of contracting and expanding, mine would get stuck at about the midpoint of the cage and absent an actual attempted erection, the tip would never return to the end of the cage. This made peeing even more problematic than usual with chastity devices. So, I hoped a shorter cage would solve the issue. More on that bit later.

I admit the thing that first attracted me to the HF-001 was the availability of the four additional vibrant color options for those of us who like something other than basic black. I chose the purple color and was very pleased with my choice when the device arrived. Now let’s look at the specifications.

Available sizes
Dimensions
Colors

Besides the cage and “MagicLocker” the HF-001 comes with four different base ring sizes from 43mm to 51mm. The 43mm fits me perfectly. I think it’s an unusually wonderful variety of sizes where one should fit most guys.

Not only do you get the set of four base rings, you can also choose between “arc” rings (ergonomic) or standard round rings. Unfortunately, you can’t mix and match. You must take all four using the same option. I chose the round rings which do the job for me. I had an unpleasant experience with an ergonomic ring once, so I choose to stay away from them. Not to say others don’t love them. Before leaving the base ring topic, you can also get a custom-sized stainless steel ring with this device at an extra charge if you’re so inclined.

Comfort and Feel of the HF-001

As with all plastic chastity devices, the HF-001 is pleasingly light-weight. The cage and the base rings are smooth as glass inside and out, so I haven’t had even the hint of any chafing. The color is spectactularly vibrant and they color the resin itself so it doesn’t rub off or stain your skin. I put mine on September 1 and haven’t removed it since. It’s that comfortable. But alas, going one size smaller on cage length didn’t cure the same annoying sticking problem I experienced with the first Cobra-like device. With the HF-001, when my peen retracts, the head sticks about three-quarters of an inch from the end of the cage and that makes the issue even worse while urinating than I had with the longer cage. It positions my urethral opening right behind a bar at the top of the cage and even sitting, pee sprays like crazy. So, I have to use a Q-Tip to poke and prod to set things right every time I visit the bathroom. This issue results from two things. Like all Cobra-style devices (including the original I’ve now learned), the cage is (by design) not perfectly round. Instead, it’s slightly oval-shaped, from side to side. The other problem is me. My flaccid penis is chubby and I have a good bit of excess skin below the glans left over from circumcision. These two aspects of my organ don’t play well with the oval shape and that causes the sticking problem at the choke point. Other than that, I have no other problems with the fit and feel. It’s a comfortable device to wear.

Safety Considerations While Wearing the HF-001

Like any Cobra-style device, the design of the HF-001 is simple. There is a cage, base ring, lock, and two tabs on the cage that slip into a pair of sockets on the base ring to add stability. That makes the two components fit tightly together so there is no wobble. You must exercise a little care to avoid pinching when mating the cage to the base ring. It’s a simple ball-trap device, so the usual cautions apply. Choosing the proper size base ring is important. Choosing a base ring size that is too small can cause significant issues, including the risks associated with compromising your circulation. As a rule of thumb, skin discoloration or skin temperature of the scrotum that feels noticeably cooler than normal body temperature are indications of reduced circulation.

Hygiene Considerations When Wearing the HF-001

Thanks to the cage-type open style, I give the HF-001 high marks in the ease of cleaning department. It’s simple to keep the contents clean with a handheld shower head. I’ve worn mine for sixteen days without having to remove it for cleaning. Expect to sit to pee to avoid making a mess, and especially if you have the “sticking problem” I do, don’t even think about trying to pee while standing.

Final Thoughts

First, a word about “security” which, if you’re a regular reader of this website, you know by now is a relative term when discussing ball-trap chastity devices. The HF-001 does what the manufacturer designed it to do. It doesn’t fall off accidentally, but if you want to remove it while it’s locked on, it isn’t hard to do. The same thing is true of any device made using this design. So, if you want to compare it to the original KINK3D version, the HF-001 is no better and no worse. But it may not be the best choice for those with little or no willpower because there are other devices available that require more effort to escape from. That said, for those of us ready and willing to stay locked when required without cheating, this is an acceptably secure device.

I’m impressed by the overall quality of this device and love the color options. The darn sticking problem is my only real complaint. But as they say, if at first you don’t succeed, try again. I like this device well enough that I’ve already ordered another, this time the E1, the model with the shortest cage. Hopefully, with no extra length in the cage at all, the tip of my unruly peen will stay put at the end of the cage where it belongs. One way or the other, the E1 is what I plan to wear while flying when I visit Europe later this year. Several months ago, I bought one of the plastic locking plugs for the trip that I’ve mentioned that slides into the MagicLocker receiver and you then secure it with a plastic numbered lock. That means all plastic, baby, and it should speed me through security with no risk of having an embarrassing show and tell discussion in a small, locked room with TSA.

At $50, I think Badassworkroom has fairly priced the HF-001 given the high quality. If this device interests you, it’s available directly from the Badassworkroom official website, and also from the Badassworkroom Etsy store. Pro tip. If you get one, order from their Etsy store and you’ll get free shipping. Orders at the website incur shipping costs and you might as well save a few bucks.

Badassworkroom BA-21 Chastity Device Review

It’s time for my promised Badassworkroom BA-21 chastity device review. This is my second stainless steel device from Badassworkroom and I found much to like about it.

After wearing the device for almost a full month, I’m ready to offer my opinions on the Badassworkroom BA-21 chastity device. I purchased my first Badassworkroom custom device, the BA-12, to satisfy my curiosity about what it felt like to wear a device with a 90-degree angled cage. It intrigued me from a purely aesthetic perspective after seeing and liking the looks of a 90-degree angled cage on another manufacturer’s website. But to my surprise, I found the device satisfyingly comfortable to wear. Also, the BA-12 gave me the chance to experience the high quality workmanship that the company puts into their custom-made steel devices. So, I felt no hesitation about ordering another custom device from them, but this time one I intended to wear regularly. And I chose the BA-21.

BA-21 Specifications

The above specifications are what I ordered based on my specific measurements. But the BA-21 is fully customizable, so you can order this device to fit your own unique measurements. I ordered mine with a “MagicLocker” integral lock, but you can also get this device with a common padlock or a proprietary locking security screw.

Components

The BA-21 is a standard ball-trap device and comes with three components:

  • Base Ring
  • Penis Cage
  • Locking Device

BA-21 Physical Details

I ordered the BA-12 in surgical stainless steel. But the device is also available in titanium for an additional cost of $100.00 for those seeking a lighter weight cage. This device, which I find quite comparable to my Mature Metal Jailbird, is marginally lighter than the Jailbird even with the integral lock, which requires they make the base ring from slightly larger diameter, heavier stock. All the welds are smooth and the device measurements are exactly what I ordered. In my opinion, the quality of workmanship is as good as you will find in the custom-made male steel chastity device industry. My device fits perfectly and the connection between the cage and base ring is tight with no play. Like the BA-12 I ordered previously, the integral lock is stainless steel instead of brass and the insert is slightly longer than the brass inserts, which means you won’t be able to switch out this MagicLocker with one of the brass ones you may have that came with some other device.

BA-21 Chastity Device Use

The BA-21 is another standard ball-trapping device. You insert your scrotum and testicles into the base ring, pull your flaccid penis through the ring to rest atop your testicles, and slide the cage on. Then you mate the two components together and lock up. The device feels quite secure, but as we know, standard ball-trapping device security is mostly an illusion unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. There are options available at an additional cost for guys with PA piercings to gain added security. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the 10mm default factory-set gap worked great for me and probably will for most guys. But the gap is customizable too.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the BA-21

The usual precautions apply as with any ball-trapping male chastity device.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the BA-21

I find the BA-21 provides me the heft of stainless steel that I like without being uncomfortably weighty. As mentioned it weighs slightly less than my Mature Metal Jailbird. The interior of the cage feels satisfyingly smooth. It’s one of the most comfortable devices I’ve worn and required no adjustment period. It felt comfortable the first time I put it on and has remained that way. As far as standard ball-trap devices without the added security of a piercing go, it feels comfortably secure.

The BA-21 at work…

Hygiene Considerations When Wearing the BA-21

Thanks to the cage-type open architecture, the BA-21 gets high marks in the hygiene department. It has been simple to keep clean using my handheld shower head. I’m certain I could wear it indefinitely with no need to remove it periodically for cleaning. With four vertical and two horizontal bars on the nose of the cock cage, expect to sit to pee to avoid making a mess. I haven’t even experimented with trying to stand while urinating while wearing this device.

Final Thoughts

The Badassworkroom BA-21 is a well designed and well made device. It’s on the lighter end of the spectrum of stainless steel open-type cage devices, and super comfortable. It’s a device that deserves serious consideration by those seeking a steel cage-style device.

At $300.00 USD for the stainless steel model ($400.00 for titanium), this is outstanding quality at a reasonable and affordable price for a custom-made stainless-steel male chastity device. For comparison purposes, the Mature Metal Jailbird, a device I feel the BA-21 matches up well with, retailed at $330.00 when I published this review.

Something I and others raved about when Badassworkroom first came on the scene was the company’s unheard of fast delivery. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and that amazingly fast delivery has ended at Badassworkroom. It took more than twice as long for me to receive this device than the first one I ordered. The owner told me it’s because they have become more well known and are getting far more orders. I suspect that China’s “zero COVID policy” with the frequent lock downs has also slowed deliveries. But of course I wouldn’t have expected the owner to confirm that for the obvious reasons and he didn’t. Still, Badassworkroom’s shipping times remain in line with most other custom chastity device manufacturers and is still better than some.

Steelworxx Thunder Chastity Device Review

Closing in on a full month of wearing the Steelworxx Thunder stainless steel chastity device, I’m ready to tender my review.

Having worn the Steelworxx Thunder for over three weeks, I feel I’m ready now to give my opinions. Having always worn only open cage-type stainless steel devices in the past, I’ve always been intrigued with fully enclosed tube-type devices and curious how different it might feel to wear one. So, I decided to plunk down my hard-earned cash for my first Steelworxx device.

Since, in my opinion, Thumper of denyingthumper.com fame, has already written brilliantly everything worth reading about the Steelworxx Steelheart, I chose to get the Thunder model instead. The two devices are pretty similar except the Thunder has a blunt, squared off nose rather than the rounded nose of the Steelheart. I also liked the looks of the generous urine outlet slot, another obvious difference from the Steelheart which has a round hole in the center of the nose. Let’s see what I found out.

Steelworxx Thunder Specifications

Below are the specifications of the Steelworxx Thunder I ordered, customized to my own measurements.

I found that the device fit as perfectly as I’d envisioned when ordering it. The 60mm length I ordered reflects my preference for cages a little shorter than the actual average length of my flaccid penis. I’m able to slip into tube without the need for lubricant or use of the stocking method, yet I feel the pleasing skin to metal contact between my shaft and the interior of the stainless-steel tube at all times. My device has the traditional tiny brass padlock Steelworxx provides, but the Thunder is also available with an integrated (MagicLocker-style) lock at an additional charge.

The tube is available in total lengths from 60mm to 130mm, base ring (termed A-ring by Steelworxx) diameters of 38mm to 50 mm, and inside tube diameters from 29mm to 44 mm. The gap measurement (distance between tube and ring) is 15mm (0.591inch) at the bottom and 5mm (0.197inch) at the top. That will probably work for 90% of us, and does for me.

Steelworxx Thunder Device Physical Details

Steelworxx manufacturers the Thunder from surgical stainless steel and the beautiful outer surface is buffed to a mirror-like high gloss finish. The aesthetics of this device alone were rather breathtaking for me the first time I put it on. As a cage-type device wearer for the most part, I very much liked how my penis totally disappeared thanks to the fully enclosed tube. I’ll say Steelworxx in my experience with custom made chastity devices from a variety of manufacturers is unmatched when it comes to quality and craftmanship. Everything fits precisely and tightly just the way they designed it.

Steelworxx Thunder Device Use

The Thunder is another standard ball-trapping device. You insert your scrotum and testicles into the A-ring, pull your flaccid penis through the ring to rest atop your testicles, and slide the tube on. Then you mate the two components together and lock up. The device feels quite secure, but as we know, standard ball-trapping device security is mostly illusionary unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. There are options available at an additional cost for guys with PA piercings to gain added security. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the standard factory-set gap worked great for me and probably will for most guys.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the Thunder

The usual precautions apply as with any ball-trapping male chastity device. Choosing the proper size base ring is important. Choosing an A-ring size that is too small can cause significant issues, including the risks associated with compromising your circulation. As a rule of thumb, skin discoloration or skin temperature of the scrotum that feels noticeably cooler than normal body temperature are indications of reduced circulation. Also, since it is a fully enclosed tube, selecting an inside tube diameter that fits properly is also important since you will be unable to monitor the skin color and temperature of your shaft while wearing this device.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the Thunder

I find the Thunder surprisingly light weight even though it’s a fully enclosed tube, and the interior of the tube feels satiny smooth. It’s one of the most comfortable devices I’ve worn and there was no adjustment period. It felt comfortable the first time I put it on and has remained that way. I truly like the feel of having my shaft completely enclosed by steel. To me, it feels much nicer and more noticeable than the sensations I’ve experienced when wearing fully enclosed plastic tubes.

Hygiene Considerations When Wearing the Thunder

If you’ve read my previous chastity device reviews then you already know I’m a stickler when it comes to hygiene. I knew from my experiences with the plastic enclosed tube devices I’ve tired, that the Thunder might offer similar challenges in the hygiene department. I did purchase a plastic squeeze bottle with a syringe-like tip that I use daily for cleaning while showering. First, I fill the bottle with warm soapy water and flush the interior of the tube with it from the top and through the urine outlet at the bottom. Then using clear warm water in the bottle, I repeat the process to rinse out the soap. This does a fair job of keeping things clean, but of course it’s more of a bother than keeping things clean when wearing an open cage-type device. Also, I suspect the method I use does not completely rinse all the soap out of the tube since the interior “hugs” my flaccid shaft quite well.

I wore the device for three days before removing it for a thorough cleaning and didn’t notice any issues. Then I tried four days, and did notice a faintly unpleasant smell when I removed the tube. Finally, I wore the device for five days straight, and the unpleasant odor when I removed the tube was pronounced. But at least I had no skin issues. Still, I wouldn’t recommend wearing the Thunder for more than five days without removing it for a deep cleaning.

More disconcerting to me than the cleanliness factor are the urination issues while wearing the Thunder. I did fully expect to sit to pee, but thought the generously sized urine outlet would eliminate any urination issues. But it did not. In normal daily wear of any chastity device, the urethral opening of the penis never stays perfectly aligned with the urination outlet of the device. And I find that true of the Thunder. So, frequently, when I’ve urinated, I’ve noticed that the misalignment mentioned and the force of urine flow combines to cause urine to back up inside the tube. At times, judging from the sensations of warmth inside the tube, it feels urine backs up past the head of my penis. I’m not pee-phobic, but prefer not to soak my penis in the stuff. So, I don’t particularly care for this aspect of fully enclosed tubes. For that reason, as comfortable as the Thunder is to wear, it will never replace the open cage-style devices I typically wear on a continual basis.

Overall, based on the experiences I’ve shared here on the topic, I must rate the Thunder pretty low when it comes to the hygiene department. And it’s the only area I feel this device doesn’t truly shine.

Final Thoughts

Other than the hygiene issues I find problematic, the Steelworxx Thunder is an exceptionally well made, light weight, and super comfortable stainless-steel device that deserves consideration by those who prefer fully enclosed tube devices over the more open, cage-type devices.

At 149,00 € (about $152.00 USD) this is outstanding quality at a very reasonable and affordable price for a custom-made stainless-steel male chastity device. That’s less than the cost of many of the popular plastic chastity devices that are not even fully customizable, and half the price I’ve paid for many of my cage devices. Also, in comparison, the Thunder costs about $30 USD less than the more popular Steelheart model. But don’t forget, getting the Thunder with the integral lock option or a PA accessory will add to the base price. You can visit the Steelworxx official website (https://www.steelworxx.de/Stainless-steel) for more information and current prices.

My Overall Rating 4.5 Stars

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Device Review

My much delayed Cobra Male Chastity Lock device review

I completed the wear test of the Cobra Male Chastity Lock device weeks ago, but had difficulty generating the enthusiasm to write and post the review. The reason for that is I wasn’t much impressed with this chastity device.

Just so we’re clear, this is NOT the KINK Cobra 3D-Printed chastity device, which I haven’t tried but have seen many positive reviews for. Instead, the Cobra Male Chastity Chasity Lock is a cheap copy of the KINK3D original and not in the same class.

I purchased and tested this device, hoping it might be a less expensive alternative for guys who may not have $155 to $185 to buy the KINK3D original. This device looks like the original, and the parts fit together the same. And it is a 3D-printed device.

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Specifications

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Device Physical Details

The manufacturer made this 3D-printed device from strong, lightweight plastic. It appears quite durable. The seller included a small square of high-grit sandpaper in the box, but I didn’t need it. Instead, I found the interior of the tube and all of the four different size base rings completely smooth to touch. The base rings are the standard circular type.

One thing I like about the device is the ring assortment; a 42mm, 45mm, 48mm, and 52mm base ring. My base ring size is 43mm, and I found the 42mm worked well enough for me. Usually, I must default to the 45mm base ring size with off-the-shelf devices, which is a little too big.

The seller offers this device in five different lengths:

  • Micro (50mm)
  • Tight (60mm)
  • Snug (75mm)
  • Comfort (85mm)
  • Max (100mm)

I prefer cages a little shorter than the actual average length of my flaccid penis, but I purchased the “Snug” model (75mm) because I thought the size might be more applicable to guys with average size penises. So, that is the model the specs provided above apply to. Ordinarily, if I was only purchasing this device for my use, I would have purchased the “Tight” model (60mm). And I had reason after trying out the device to regret not buying the shorter model.

The manufacturer provides a brass “MagicLocker” and two keys with the device.

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Device Use

The Cobra Male Chastity Lock is a standard ball-trapping device. You insert your scrotum and testicles into the base ring, pull your flaccid penis through the ring to rest atop your testicles, and slide the cage on. Then you mate the two components together and lock up. The device feels secure, but as we know, standard ball-trapping device security is mostly illusionary unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. Unfortunately, there is no option offered for PA wearers. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the standard factory-set gap worked great for me and probably will for ninety percent of the other guys.

The 37mm (1.45669 inches) inside diameter of the penis tube will also work for most men with average size penises. But it might not work for guys with larger peens. However, the variety of penis cage lengths available (50mm to 100mm) means finding a length that works wouldn’t be a problem for most.

There is one quirk to the design of the penis cages I haven’t seen before. The cage is wider than it is in height. So when you hold it out upright in front of your eye, the inside looks like an oval instead of a circle. I don’t know if the original KINK3D design is the same since I haven’t tried one, but at least in the images on the website, the KINK3D cages seem round, not oval-shaped.

The oval shape produced an interesting issue for me, which made me dissatisfied with this device. As all penis owners know, the penis naturally expands and contracts both in length and girth due to external factors, such as temperature. For example, cold weather can make a flaccid penis smaller temporarily. This happens automatically and is controlled by the central nervous system. When I woke after the first night I slept wearing this device, I noticed that my flaccid penis had withdrawn and “stuck” in the upper half of the cage. The cage wasn’t excessively tight, but the oval shape of the cage is why this occurred. I assume I had an attempted erection during the night, and my penis expanded. Then when it contracted, it stuck in the upper end of the cage and couldn’t, in a flaccid state, lengthen. It was actually turtled inside the cage. Using a Q-tip, I eliminated the entrapment and my penis expanded to fill the cage once again. But soon I learned, this would happen again and again over the course of the two weeks I wear tested this device.

I can only imagine the designer of this device thought “smushing” the cage into an oval shape might keep the penis properly positioned, but failed to take into account it would also result in the issue I experienced.

As the image illustrates, my flaccid penis (the usual average length) fills the cage to the tip. Except after a workout or cold weather, my average length when flaccid isn’t much different that the photo shows. So, there is no good reason for it to get stuck and turtled in the upper half of a penis cage. I’ve never had this happen with any other device.

I found this annoying enough that I won’t use this device again. But others might find enough to like about it that they could live with the issue I’ve described. And the device does have some positive features. It seems well-made and durable, is light weight, fits together tightly, and it’s inexpensive.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the Cobra Male Chastity Lock

The standard precautions apply as with any ball-trapping male chastity device, choosing the proper size base ring is important. The worst that can happen if you choose a ring that’s too large is the locked device might come off or be too easily escaped. However, choosing a ring that is too small can cause significant problems, including compromising your circulation. As a rule of thumb, skin discoloration or skin temperature of the scrotum that feels cooler than normal body temperature are indications of reduced circulation. Wearing a base ring that interferes with circulation is asking for a serious medical issue. When wearing a male chastity device, you should always be able to insert a fingertip between the base ring and your skin. If you can’t, the ring is too small and may impair circulation.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the Cobra Male Chastity Lock

The Cobra Male Chastity Lock device is very comfortable to wear, and very light weight. Even when my flaccid peen got stuck in the top of the cage after normal contractions it never felt uncomfortable. I just didn’t care for the aesthetics or the time I had to spend manipulating my penis back into the proper position again and again. Comfort and quality are probably the two greatest strengths.

Hygiene Concerns When Wearing the Cobra Male Chasity Lock

Ease of maintaining good hygiene is another area where this device gets high marks. Because of the open design, I found it as easy to keep clean as any of my steel cock cages. And when I removed it the first time for a weekly deep cleaning, I didn’t detect the unpleasant odors I’ve come to expect from resin and plastic cages.

Final Thoughts

One final word on security. This device is secure in the sense it won’t fall off on its own if properly sized. But like most of the resin and plastic devices I’ve tried, I found it quite easy to escape this locked device. By pushing the top of the base ring away from the abdomen, the oval shape of the cage makes it easy to finger your soft penis out of the cage and base ring and then you can easily free your testicles. But I found it impossible to get it back on without unlocking it, which defeats the purpose of escaping if you’re under the watchful eye of a keyholder. And if you aren’t, you could simply unlock it whenever you wished to free yourself.

This isn’t the worst chastity chastity device I’ve ever tried. Because of the fit, comfort, and light weight, I could imagine wearing this device to go for a run or to the gym. But I don’t it like well enough to wear for any extended period of time. The penis sticking issue I mentioned was annoying enough to put me off it. So, I wouldn’t be tempted to buy another of these devices. And since I’m not overly pleased with the device, I wouldn’t recommend it to others. Still, as the comparison below shows, it has more positives than negatives. And if you only want to spend a little on a chastity device, you could certainly do worse than the Cobra Male Chastity Lock. I bought mine right after I first started seeing them on eBay and paid a little more, but I noticed recently they are available from numerous eBay sellers for between $9.99 and $16.99.

BA-12 Custom-Made Stainless Steel Chastity Device Review

The BA-12 stainless steel chastity device from badassworkroom is bad ass.

After a thirty-day wear test of the BA-12 stainless steel chastity device from badassworkroom, I came away impressed with both the device and basassworkroom’s quality workmanship. After discovering the Red Chili Sissy Cage with its dramatic ninety-degree curve, I was dying to try one. But, after trying to order one three times and learning the company wasn’t taking orders because of their backlog, I gave up. Then I learned badassworkroom manufacturers a reasonable substitute in the BA-12.

No, the design isn’t as artistic as the Red Chili device. No surprise there as Red Chili alone stands at the pinnacle of the “chastity devices as art” niche. But when the BA-12 hit my mailbox, it immediately impressed me. Not only did the BA-12 mimic the dramatic downward angle I love so much about the Red Chili Sissy Cage, it is one beautiful, well-made chastity device.

While badassworkroom is a Chinese company, I’ve never seen this level of quality workmanship in a made in China chastity device. But, of course, badassworkroom is a maker of custom-made devices, not the one-size-fits-all mass-produced devices you find on Amazon, eBay, and other discount retailers. And the BA-12 is every bit as good as any custom-made device I own.

The image above reflects the specs of the BA-12 I ordered and the dimensions correspond with my personal measurements. And I’m happy to say, the device fits me like a glove. Of course, should you be interested in ordering one, badassworkroom can tailor all three dimensions to your specific needs. So you provide measurements for the chastity cage overall length, penis tube inner diameter, and base ring inner diameter when ordering to ensure the perfect fit.

The only measurement you must pay particular attention to is the chastity cage’s overall length. Since I have an average size peen, I planned to order a slightly shorter cage. But before placing the order, I chatted with a representative at badassworkroom and learned a thing or two about cages with a ninety-degree curve.

As he explained, if you want the full ninety-degree angle, there isn’t much flexibility in overall length. If you go too short on the length, they can’t build you a cage that has exactly a ninety-degree angle. That’s not something the manufacturer can control since it’s purely the product of a complicated mathematical formula. There is a minimum length required in order for them to fabricate a cage with a true right angle. So if you order a cage length shorter than the minimum, then the angle will be less than a full ninety degrees.

The rep calculated several length options for me, based on the cage length I had intended ordering and we agreed 82mm was as short as we could go and still get close to the right angle I wanted. That was acceptable since I’d planned to order a cage length of 80mm, anyway. And at 82mm, only 2mm longer, the company could deliver me a cage that has about an eighty-eight degree curve. So, as far as the look and feel, you can’t tell it isn’t a true right angle.

BA-12 Stainless Steel Chastity Device Physical Details

The manufacturer builds the device from Grade 316L surgical stainless steel. They buff the surface before shipping and the appearance of the BA-12 compares most favorably to that of the stainless steel devices I’ve ordered from other custom chastity device custom manufacturers.

The base ring is the standard circular type, though the stock they used to fabricate the base ring isn’t quite as thick as that used for most made in China devices. That is a plus since it reduces overall weight slightly and provides a comfortable fit.

The “MagicLock” supplied with the BA-12, that they refer to as a “stealth lock,” is unique. It’s different from those usually supplied with chastity devices. First, instead of brass, the lock is manufactured from the same stainless steel as the device. I don’t know if badassworkroom builds the locks or sources them elsewhere since I didn’t think to ask. Also, the lock is slightly longer than the “MagicLock” you usually see. So you can’t substitute an ordinary brass “MagicLock” you got with some other device for the one supplied with the BA-12 because it will be too short and won’t work.

The supplied stealth lock works smoothly and since it’s stainless steel, it has the similar anti-corrosion properties as a brass lock. The downside is if you ever need a replacement, you’ll have to go back to badassworkroom to source a new one. Or, when ordering a BA-12, you can opt for one of the other lock alternatives. Besides the concealed “MagicLock” I ordered, the company also offers a padlock, proprietary security screw, or either of those, plus a “permanent lock” option. If you chose that option, you will have to destroy the device to remove it if you ever decide you don’t wish to wear it permanently after all.

BA-12 Stainless Steel Chastity Device Use

The BA-12 is a standard ball-trapping device. You insert your testicles and scrotum into the base ring, slide the penis cage on, mate the two components, and lock up. The BA-12 feels very secure, but by now I’m sure you’ve already heard my standard ball-trapping device disclaimer. Complete security with any of these devices is only illusionary unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. That brings me to the next point.

Like similarly designed open-cage type chastity devices, there is no option offered for PA wearers. I’ve known pierced guys who had come up with some ingenious do-it-yourself ways to incorporate their PA for added security. But the fact remains, this device isn’t designed with any PA option in mind. Still, with the appropriate degree of suspension of belief, I rate the BA-12 as secure as any other stainless steel device I’ve tried. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the standard factory set gap works great for me and probably will for ninety percent of the other guys out there.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the BA-12

As with any ball-trapping male chastity device, choosing the proper size base ring is important.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the BA-12

Oh my God, I love, love, love the look and feel of this ninety-degree device. It’s everything I had imagined when I first set my heart on getting a right angle cage. Here are a two images of the device doing its thing, one a side view where you can see the dramatic downward curve.

The device is very comfortable to wear, which might seem counterintuitive since it puts your peen at such a dramatic downward angle. But I haven’t found it feels any different from any other device I’ve worn as far as comfort goes. And my flaccid peen stays in the proper position. It doesn’t, for example, get stuck higher in the cage when it contracts. Once it expands again, the tip returns right back to the bottom of the cage. I’m more than satisfied with my purchase and feel the device is worth every penny.

Hygiene Concerns When Wearing the BA-12

Hygiene concerns when wearing the BA-12? There are none. The open-style design makes keeping the cage and contents clean a snap with a handheld shower head. It isn’t necessary to remove the device for cleaning unless you wish to do so. I wore it for thirty straight days, noticing no unpleasant odors or any skin issues the day I removed it. Ease in maintaining good hygiene is why I prefer open-style cage devices over those that have closed tubes.

Because of the right angle, I didn’t even experiment with trying to urinate while standing. To avoid the chance of a mess, I sat on the toilet to do my business with this device.

Final Thoughts

I can’t say enough about the quality of the workmanship badassworkroom puts into its devices. The quality is every bit as good as that of the two Mature Metal devices I currently own. The company has many interesting designs and I know already this will not be my last chastity device purchase from badassworkroom. Also, their customer service is second to none. I received several emails with updates on my order, and I received the device within three weeks’ time, even though the national Chinese New Year celebration when all businesses in the country shut down for the holiday took place while the company was filling my order.

I paid $230 for my BA-12, but noticed the price has since increased to $250. But even with the increase, compare that with the base cost of a Mature Metal Bird, currently $330 at the time I published this review, and I think you’ll agree that’s quite reasonable for a custom-fitted, high-quality chastity device.

Coming Soon

By intent, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Male Chastity is a comprehensive look at male chastity from all the major aspects. But for a while now, I’ve wanted to offer a companion book for those who don’t care so much about the what, when, and why behind male chastity, but only want a concise how-to book that will take them from choosing a properly fitted chastity device to putting it on for the first time to adjusting to wearing it for gradually longer periods.

I’ve finally written that book. Male Chasity Training isn’t a rehash of the information in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Male Chastity. It’s original writing that focuses only on the basics of taking a guy from beginner to doing male chastity like a boss in four short weeks. This book, a quick start guide to male chastity training, will be a helpful resource both for guys who want to try male chastity and for inexperienced first-time keyholders looking to learn how to safely and effectively supervise their man’s chastity.

At least for now, I’m making the eBook version available only on Amazon because so many Kindle Unlimited subscribers choose to read The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Male Chastity. So I thought, why not make the book available to read free by KU subscribers too? I will also offer the book in paperback for those who prefer to read actual printed books.

If this is a book that interests you, watch for the announcement when the book becomes available soon.

Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device Review

The Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device, a made in China imitation of Rigid Chastity’s Modular Chastity Device – model 01, may perform about as well as the original at a fraction of the cost.

After a fifteen-day wear test of the Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device, I came away impressed with both the quality and fit. It also looks darn close to the genuine article. It isn’t custom-fitted like the device Rigid offers for $315. The overall quality isn’t quite up to Rigid’s standards and the finish isn’t nearly as shiny. But a guy with a PA piercing looking for a comfortable, inexpensive device, could do a lot worse than the Bridge-01.

The inside diameter of the spacer ring that the PA s-hook is attached to is 35mm (1.37795 inches), the same as the cage opening. The diameter of the s-hook is your choice of 6mm or 8mm. That’s the only sizing option offered besides your choice of base ring size – 40mm, 45mm, or 50mm. The overall length of the device measured from the back of of the base ring to the tip of the nose is 63mm ( 2.48031 inches). This device should work for most men with average size penises.

Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device Physical Details

The Bridge-01 manufacturer claims they fabricate the device from Grade 316L stainless steel, considered surgical or medical-grade stainless that is resistant to general corrosion and pitting. And it does look like 316L stainless to me. When I received it, the fabricator had buffed the device to a shiny luster, but nowhere near the bright luster depicted in the images on the eBay sales page. That makes me believe those images are actual Rigid devices scraped from the Rigid Chastity website. Still the luster is brighter than the usual dull nickel finishes I’ve seen on other made in China stainless steel devices.

Rigid refers to their Model 01, the model the Bridge-01 imitates, as a “modular chastity device” because it includes the s-hook component used to secure a PA piercing ring for better security. The Rigid custom-made device can be ordered without the PA attachment component, but that isn’t an option with the Bridge-01. I didn’t find that presented any problems even though I don’t have a PA piercing and didn’t need the component. Because of the design of the device, the PA attachment component must be used whether needed or not because otherwise the cage and base ring cannot be mated together.

The base ring is the standard circular type, though the stock used to fabricate the base ring isn’t quite as thick as that used for most made in China devices. That is a plus for me since it reduces overall weight slightly. The eBay seller offers the device with three choices of base ring inside diameters—40mm, 45mm, or 50mm. My exact base ring size, the size I order with custom-made devices is 42mm, so I chose the 45mm ring and it worked well enough.

Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device Use

The Bridge-01, like the Rigid device it imitates, is a standard ball-trapping device with the addition of a PA piercing accommodation. The wearer first inserts his scrotum and testicles into the base ring. It’s then easiest, at least for guys without a piercing, to mate the PA component to the cage and then to slide the two components over the flaccid penis as a single unit. That’s because first mating the PA component to the base ring and then trying to put the cage on makes it more difficult to line up the s-hook. By design, the tip of the hook passes all the way through the cage and slightly out the hole drilled in the center of the cage cap. Once the wearer’s flaccid penis is inside the cage, he mates the the two primary components together and then secures the device with the provided MagicLocker that comes with two keys.

Even without a PA, I found the device felt secure. But as with all ball-trapping devices, I’m sure someone motivated to escape the locked device could find a way out of it. Still, I rate it as secure as any other stainless steel device I’ve tried. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the gap worked for me.

I think guys with a PA piercing locked in this device would find it extremely difficult to escape from. There seems no easy way to access and disconnect a PA ring from the s-hook once the device is locked on.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the Bridge-01

As with any ball-trapping male chastity device, choosing the proper size base ring is important. If you can’t, the ring is too small.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the Bridge-01

After wearing the Bridge-01 for fifteen days, I felt pleased with the fit and how comfortable it is. It’s a little heavier than my other stainless steel devices, which is understandable since it has the extra PA component. But the weight isn’t onerous. It feels solid and secure, even though I don’t have a PA. The PA attachment and s-hook weren’t a factor in my experience. I was barely aware the hook was there.

I like the looks of this device when wearing it, and it satisfied my curiosity about whether a modular chastity device works for those of us who don’t have a PA.

The Bridge-01 isn’t exactly stealthy since there is only a slight downward curve from the base ring to the cage tip. So, it does produce a noticeable bump. This isn’t something I’m self-conscious about and I had no problem with wearing it out and about.

The device is about one half-inch longer than I need, but the internal diameter is just about perfect.

Hygiene Concerns When Wearing the Bridge-01

The open-style of the Bridge-01 makes it a snap to keep the inside of the cage and the contents clean with a handheld shower head. It isn’t necessary to remove it unless you wish to do so. I wore it for fifteen straight days without noticing any unpleasant odors the day I removed it. Ease in maintaining good hygiene is why I prefer open-style cage devices over those that have closed tubes.

Because of the drilled-cap design of the nose, I didn’t even bother trying to urinate while standing. I have other devices with a similar type nose design and I know trying to pee while standing when wearing a device with that design invariably results in huge mess. So, my recommendation is to sit on the toilet to do your business with this one. The s-hook protruding slightly through the center hole in the nose means there is no way you can line your urethral opening with a urine outlet.

Final Thoughts

I will say that this is probably the highest quality made in China knock-off I’ve worn. No, the quality is not on par with Rigid’s original, but it is still very good. The manufacturer did a good job copying the Rigid design. While I haven’t tried Rigid’s device, I think this device probably performs just as well as the original. I paid the eBay seller (alpskimini) I bought the device from $34, and received free shipping. That’s a $280 savings over the Rigid original, although this less expensive imitation isn’t custom-made. I did a quick search on eBay and found there are several sellers offering this device at prices ranging from $34 to $42. The search term “pa-6mm chastity device” will show results for most of the sellers. The devices look identical so I assume they are all made by the same manufacturer.

Anyone considering buying the Rigid Chastity Model 01, especially those looking for a device with a PA attachment, would probably find this to be a great bargain alternative that performs just as well.

I have an average size penis that I expect hits right about the center of the bell curve and that is a little on the chubby side when flaccid. The Bridge-01 fits me almost perfectly. But the internal diameter of the cage and the length might not work for guys who are on the larger end of the scale. Like all mass-produced chastity devices, it’s obvious this one is aimed at average-size penis owners.

Cobra Chastity Device Review Coming Soon

After seeing so many guys on social media wearing the KINK3D Cobra 3D-printed male chastity device and reading an excellent review, I ordered a copycat device for a wear test.

*** UPDATED POST ***

This device has been tested and reviewed. Click the link to read the review: https://cuttothechaste.net/cobra-male-chastity-lock-device-review/

Judging from what I’ve seen on Twitter lately, the KINK3D Cobra 3D-printed Chastity is one of the most popular chastity cages going. Thumper wrote an excellent review of the Cobra Chastity this past November. Intrigued by the review, I immediately wanted to take one for a spin. But then I had an idea.

Here at Cut To The Chaste, I like reviewing original devices, but I also try to include reviews on less expensive cages for the benefit of guys who aren’t yet ready to invest in higher priced models. Since I’d also seen a lot of Cobra copycats on social media, I went looking for one of those instead. After all, Thumper has already covered the original Cobra so why not wear test and review a less expensive knock-off model?

After some searching, I found what I was looking for on eBay, Cobra Male Chasity Cage Lock for under $30.

While this isn’t an original KINK3D Cobra Chastity, it is a nylon 3D-printed device that seems a very close approximation. When it arrived in my mailbox today, out of the box I found it to be of good quality. To the touch, everything feels smooth with no rough edges. The base ring has a very smooth surface, which is nothing like the eggshell-like surface of the base ring that came with the first 3D-printed device I tried.

Having never tried the KINK3D original, I won’t be able to draw any comparisons, so my review will instead focus on this copycat device and how well I find it performs in all the usual areas. At more than $125 less than the original Cobra Chastity, I’m interested to learn whether this might be a good option for guys who like the style but don’t want to shell out the $155-$175 required to get the actual KINK3D version.

It will be a few weeks before I’ll have the chance to wear test and review this device since I’m participating in International Male Chastity Day until February 14. I have a key holder and can’t unlock and switch chastity devices until I’ve finished the month. So, look for a review before the end of February if you’re interested.
