Upcoming Chastity Device Reviews

I’ve ordered two new devices, so get ready for more upcoming chastity device reviews.

Since I’m still many weeks away from receiving either of the new custom-made chastity devices I’ve recently ordered, I ordered two inexpensive devices that I’ll feature in upcoming chastity device reviews. I like to wear test and review both custom and less expensive off-the-shelf devices so that this blog covers the bases for everyone interested in exploring male chastity.

Have a look at the two devices I should receive soon.

The A271 Stainless Steel Device

This isn’t a device that holds much personal appeal for me, but I’m always looking for a basic, inexpensive steel device that I might find worthy of recommending to beginners. A guy I’ve chatted with recently is having a difficult time finding a first device that works well for him. He’s already tried the Holy Trainer, but found it unsatisfactory and prefers steel, anyway. Also, he prefers something with a closed tube rather than a device with an open-style wire cage. So, I hope the A271 might fit the bill. It is mostly a closed tube with an open-style cap that should offer easier urination and cleaning.

The A271 tube or cage measures 42mm (1.65354 inches). That’s toward the shorter end of the scale for the guy I’ve spoken with who told me his average flaccid size is around 2.5 inches. But as I’ve said before, going a little shorter will never cause you problems. The inside diameter is 33mm (1.29921 inches), which is adequate for this guy’s flaccid diameter of 1.2 inches. The A271 comes with one ergonomic-shaped base ring, and the sizes available are 45mm, or 50mm. I ordered the 45mm ring since I’m wear-testing this device and that’s the closest to my ideal 43mm base ring size. The guy I’m trying to help shared he requires about a 48mm ring so would need to order the 50mm if he chose to try this device.

I got the A271, which I found available from many eBay sellers, for ten bucks, and it doesn’t get much cheaper than that. I only hope when it arrives that it really is stainless-steel, not chrome plated, which can cause rashes for some guys with sensitive skin.

Mamba Male Device

The second device I ordered is the Mamba Male Chastity device. This looks quite like the Cobra knock-off I recently reviewed, but with a shorter cage, 60mm (2.3622 inches) instead of 75mm (2.95276 inches). So, I’m hopeful it will work better than the longer Cobra cage I tried since I did order this device for personal use and for a specific purpose.

Later this year, I’ll travel to Europe and then the Caribbean. Since I’ll be spending time on planes and passing through metal detectors, I wanted a device I could wear that hopefully would not end up putting me in a claustrophobic interview room showing my junk to a TSA officer. I heard about this device and checked it out.

Besides the compact size, this plastic device also uses a plastic “Air Lock” and standard plastic numbered lock to secure the tube to the base ring. There is no metal at all with this device. So, it significantly reduces the chances of detection while passing through security. Of course, wearing a chastity device on an aircraft is not a violation of any law or TSA rule, but I’d rather not have that awkward discussion with a complete stranger at an airport that I’ve heard other guys have had to endure.

The "Air Lock" is Travel-Friendly
Mamba Specs

Besides the 60mm (2.3622 inches) cage length, the Mamba device cage has an internal diameter of 30mm (1.1811 inches). That’s a little tighter than I prefer, but will work without comprising my circulation. It comes with a four-size base ring selection including a 42mm size. A supply of plastic numbered locks comes with the “Air Lock.”

The Mamba only set me back $12, so I think it’s well worth a test spin. Sure, I could fly unlocked and put my device back on after arriving at my destination, but I’d rather be locked full time. Maybe this device will provide exactly what I’m looking for.

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Device Review

My much delayed Cobra Male Chastity Lock device review

I completed the wear test of the Cobra Male Chastity Lock device weeks ago, but had difficulty generating the enthusiasm to write and post the review. The reason for that is I wasn’t much impressed with this chastity device.

Just so we’re clear, this is NOT the KINK Cobra 3D-Printed chastity device, which I haven’t tried but have seen many positive reviews for. Instead, the Cobra Male Chastity Chasity Lock is a cheap copy of the KINK3D original and not in the same class.

I purchased and tested this device, hoping it might be a less expensive alternative for guys who may not have $155 to $185 to buy the KINK3D original. This device looks like the original, and the parts fit together the same. And it is a 3D-printed device.

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Specifications

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Device Physical Details

The manufacturer made this 3D-printed device from strong, lightweight plastic. It appears quite durable. The seller included a small square of high-grit sandpaper in the box, but I didn’t need it. Instead, I found the interior of the tube and all of the four different size base rings completely smooth to touch. The base rings are the standard circular type.

One thing I like about the device is the ring assortment; a 42mm, 45mm, 48mm, and 52mm base ring. My base ring size is 43mm, and I found the 42mm worked well enough for me. Usually, I must default to the 45mm base ring size with off-the-shelf devices, which is a little too big.

The seller offers this device in five different lengths:

  • Micro (50mm)
  • Tight (60mm)
  • Snug (75mm)
  • Comfort (85mm)
  • Max (100mm)

I prefer cages a little shorter than the actual average length of my flaccid penis, but I purchased the “Snug” model (75mm) because I thought the size might be more applicable to guys with average size penises. So, that is the model the specs provided above apply to. Ordinarily, if I was only purchasing this device for my use, I would have purchased the “Tight” model (60mm). And I had reason after trying out the device to regret not buying the shorter model.

The manufacturer provides a brass “MagicLocker” and two keys with the device.

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Device Use

The Cobra Male Chastity Lock is a standard ball-trapping device. You insert your scrotum and testicles into the base ring, pull your flaccid penis through the ring to rest atop your testicles, and slide the cage on. Then you mate the two components together and lock up. The device feels secure, but as we know, standard ball-trapping device security is mostly illusionary unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. Unfortunately, there is no option offered for PA wearers. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the standard factory-set gap worked great for me and probably will for ninety percent of the other guys.

The 37mm (1.45669 inches) inside diameter of the penis tube will also work for most men with average size penises. But it might not work for guys with larger peens. However, the variety of penis cage lengths available (50mm to 100mm) means finding a length that works wouldn’t be a problem for most.

There is one quirk to the design of the penis cages I haven’t seen before. The cage is wider than it is in height. So when you hold it out upright in front of your eye, the inside looks like an oval instead of a circle. I don’t know if the original KINK3D design is the same since I haven’t tried one, but at least in the images on the website, the KINK3D cages seem round, not oval-shaped.

The oval shape produced an interesting issue for me, which made me dissatisfied with this device. As all penis owners know, the penis naturally expands and contracts both in length and girth due to external factors, such as temperature. For example, cold weather can make a flaccid penis smaller temporarily. This happens automatically and is controlled by the central nervous system. When I woke after the first night I slept wearing this device, I noticed that my flaccid penis had withdrawn and “stuck” in the upper half of the cage. The cage wasn’t excessively tight, but the oval shape of the cage is why this occurred. I assume I had an attempted erection during the night, and my penis expanded. Then when it contracted, it stuck in the upper end of the cage and couldn’t, in a flaccid state, lengthen. It was actually turtled inside the cage. Using a Q-tip, I eliminated the entrapment and my penis expanded to fill the cage once again. But soon I learned, this would happen again and again over the course of the two weeks I wear tested this device.

I can only imagine the designer of this device thought “smushing” the cage into an oval shape might keep the penis properly positioned, but failed to take into account it would also result in the issue I experienced.

As the image illustrates, my flaccid penis (the usual average length) fills the cage to the tip. Except after a workout or cold weather, my average length when flaccid isn’t much different that the photo shows. So, there is no good reason for it to get stuck and turtled in the upper half of a penis cage. I’ve never had this happen with any other device.

I found this annoying enough that I won’t use this device again. But others might find enough to like about it that they could live with the issue I’ve described. And the device does have some positive features. It seems well-made and durable, is light weight, fits together tightly, and it’s inexpensive.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the Cobra Male Chastity Lock

The standard precautions apply as with any ball-trapping male chastity device, choosing the proper size base ring is important. The worst that can happen if you choose a ring that’s too large is the locked device might come off or be too easily escaped. However, choosing a ring that is too small can cause significant problems, including compromising your circulation. As a rule of thumb, skin discoloration or skin temperature of the scrotum that feels cooler than normal body temperature are indications of reduced circulation. Wearing a base ring that interferes with circulation is asking for a serious medical issue. When wearing a male chastity device, you should always be able to insert a fingertip between the base ring and your skin. If you can’t, the ring is too small and may impair circulation.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the Cobra Male Chastity Lock

The Cobra Male Chastity Lock device is very comfortable to wear, and very light weight. Even when my flaccid peen got stuck in the top of the cage after normal contractions it never felt uncomfortable. I just didn’t care for the aesthetics or the time I had to spend manipulating my penis back into the proper position again and again. Comfort and quality are probably the two greatest strengths.

Hygiene Concerns When Wearing the Cobra Male Chasity Lock

Ease of maintaining good hygiene is another area where this device gets high marks. Because of the open design, I found it as easy to keep clean as any of my steel cock cages. And when I removed it the first time for a weekly deep cleaning, I didn’t detect the unpleasant odors I’ve come to expect from resin and plastic cages.

Final Thoughts

One final word on security. This device is secure in the sense it won’t fall off on its own if properly sized. But like most of the resin and plastic devices I’ve tried, I found it quite easy to escape this locked device. By pushing the top of the base ring away from the abdomen, the oval shape of the cage makes it easy to finger your soft penis out of the cage and base ring and then you can easily free your testicles. But I found it impossible to get it back on without unlocking it, which defeats the purpose of escaping if you’re under the watchful eye of a keyholder. And if you aren’t, you could simply unlock it whenever you wished to free yourself.

This isn’t the worst chastity chastity device I’ve ever tried. Because of the fit, comfort, and light weight, I could imagine wearing this device to go for a run or to the gym. But I don’t it like well enough to wear for any extended period of time. The penis sticking issue I mentioned was annoying enough to put me off it. So, I wouldn’t be tempted to buy another of these devices. And since I’m not overly pleased with the device, I wouldn’t recommend it to others. Still, as the comparison below shows, it has more positives than negatives. And if you only want to spend a little on a chastity device, you could certainly do worse than the Cobra Male Chastity Lock. I bought mine right after I first started seeing them on eBay and paid a little more, but I noticed recently they are available from numerous eBay sellers for between $9.99 and $16.99.

Have You Seen This $30 Modular Chastity Device?

A modular chastity device, with an integral S-hook, is designed for men with a PA (Prince Albert) piercing. Some can be modified for use by men with a frenum piercing.

From a simple aesthetic point of view, I’ve always liked the design of the Rigid Chastity Model 01 modular chastity device. But because of several reasons, my appreciation of the design has not tempted me to spend the $315 required to buy one.

First, the Model 01 is a modular chastity device designed for men with a PA (Prince Albert) piercing, or a frenum piercing, with a slight modification. I have neither and no plans to get pierced. Also, even though you can order the Model 01 without the S-hook, I’ve been unsure that a modular chastity device would work well for a guy without a piercing. Finally, Rigid has a reputation for long lead times between ordering and delivery and I’ve seen too many complaints they don’t do a good job of communicating with their customers when promised delivery dates go unmet.

But what if I could try the Model 01, or at least a device copying it, for one-tenth the price and without waiting months to get it? I’d be all in, and I am. I like to troll eBay for the latest chastity devices available from China. Eventually, it seems, every popular chastity device gets copied and shows up on eBay. So, it delighted me to find a stainless steel device that looks like an exact replica of the Rigid Model 01 for only thirty bucks. So, I ordered it.

Here are the seller’s images.

Yeah, But is the Copy a High Quality Modular Chastity Device?

Am I expecting this $30 copy to have the quality of the original? After all, despite the shortcomings mentioned, Rigid Chastity has an enviable reputation for producing high-quality chastity devices. Besides the quality workmanship, they also produce the shiniest stainless steel devices I’ve ever seen and people who own them say the gleam never goes away. To answer the question, no, I’m not expecting the quality of the original for two reasons.

I suspect the eBay seller not only copied Rigid Chastity’s design, but also scraped the above images from the Rigid website. While you can’t see it clearly in the first image above, when you look at that image on the seller’s eBay page, you can see the reflection of the person taking the photo on the nose of the device. Then, if you go to the Rigid website and look at a similar image, you see the identical reflection. Coincidence? Probably not. So when I receive the device, if the copy has the same brilliant shine as the Rigid original, it will surprise me. That is unless the manufacturer has chromed the metal. Actually, I expect it to have the nickel-like finish you get with most made in China stainless steel devices.

Also, like with most everything else, you typically get what you pay for with chastity devices. So, a reasonable person doesn’t expect to get the same thing for $30 that the original manufacturer sells for $315. Still, I’ve had good luck with most made in China devices I’ve tried. So, I’ll withhold judgement until the device hits my mailbox in a couple of weeks and wear test it.

And who knows? It may turn out a perfectly acceptable device that someone interested in the design but who can’t afford the Rigid original or doesn’t want to invest three hundred bucks in a chastity device might find acceptable. At worst, for very little money, I’ll probably satisfy my curiosity about whether a modular chastity device works for a guy without a penis piercing. So, I’m not taking much of a risk.

If you find reviews of inexpensive chastity devices copied from popular originals useful, stay tuned. I’ve already received one interesting device I’ll be wear testing and reviewing after February 14, and I expect this one to arrive by then too.

Cobra Chastity Device Review Coming Soon

After seeing so many guys on social media wearing the KINK3D Cobra 3D-printed male chastity device and reading an excellent review, I ordered a copycat device for a wear test.

*** UPDATED POST ***

This device has been tested and reviewed. Click the link to read the review: https://cuttothechaste.net/cobra-male-chastity-lock-device-review/

Judging from what I’ve seen on Twitter lately, the KINK3D Cobra 3D-printed Chastity is one of the most popular chastity cages going. Thumper wrote an excellent review of the Cobra Chastity this past November. Intrigued by the review, I immediately wanted to take one for a spin. But then I had an idea.

Here at Cut To The Chaste, I like reviewing original devices, but I also try to include reviews on less expensive cages for the benefit of guys who aren’t yet ready to invest in higher priced models. Since I’d also seen a lot of Cobra copycats on social media, I went looking for one of those instead. After all, Thumper has already covered the original Cobra so why not wear test and review a less expensive knock-off model?

After some searching, I found what I was looking for on eBay, Cobra Male Chasity Cage Lock for under $30.

While this isn’t an original KINK3D Cobra Chastity, it is a nylon 3D-printed device that seems a very close approximation. When it arrived in my mailbox today, out of the box I found it to be of good quality. To the touch, everything feels smooth with no rough edges. The base ring has a very smooth surface, which is nothing like the eggshell-like surface of the base ring that came with the first 3D-printed device I tried.

Having never tried the KINK3D original, I won’t be able to draw any comparisons, so my review will instead focus on this copycat device and how well I find it performs in all the usual areas. At more than $125 less than the original Cobra Chastity, I’m interested to learn whether this might be a good option for guys who like the style but don’t want to shell out the $155-$175 required to get the actual KINK3D version.

It will be a few weeks before I’ll have the chance to wear test and review this device since I’m participating in International Male Chastity Day until February 14. I have a key holder and can’t unlock and switch chastity devices until I’ve finished the month. So, look for a review before the end of February if you’re interested.

Shackle Bird Review

shackle-bird-review

The male chastity device market continues to boom as the interest in male chastity continues to grow. That’s especially true when it comes to new designs out of China. I continue seeing mass-produced devices on Twitter that are new to me. One of the relatively new devices I discovered recently, the Shackle Bird, is sold by LiuLinShop.

After seeing a guy wearing the Shackle Bird on Twitter, I discovered it was available from LiuLinShop on eBay.

Besides quality, custom-made devices, I like reviewing inexpensive male chastity devices to benefit guys who are new to chastity and not ready to make a significant investment in a custom-made device. I found the Shackle Bird an interesting looking device when I first discovered it. Once I learned it was available for around ten bucks (USD), I decided to order one and wear test it for a bonus 2021 male chastity device review.

The Shackle Bird is a Plastic Device

The most affordable, mass-produced, ball-trapping chastity devices suitable for relatively comfortable long-term wear are made of plastic. The Shackle Bird is one of those devices. It comes with an integral brass lock.

According to the manufacturer, the device is constructed of medical-grade plastic. It’s hard to know how much reliance to put on such a claim as the product and performance characteristics for “medical-grade” polymers are determined at the discretion of the manufacturer.

Everybody selling polymers can have their own definition of what a medical-grade is, presenting something of a problem. Nevertheless, the plastic used in the Shackle Bird does appear to be of good quality. It’s smooth, and I found no rough spots or sharp edges on either the base rings or the cage.

Shackle Bird Specifications

Like most mass-produced chastity devices, the Shackle Bird is a one-size-fits-all proposition except for the base ring. Four different sizes are provided with the device.

Base Ring Sizes

40mm – 1.55 in.

43mm – 1.70 in.

48mm – 1.88 in.

52mm – 2.00 in.

The base rings are the double-ring type. This was my first opportunity to try the double-ring configuration, and I found it quite comfortable. Some claim that having a double-ring prevents the problems some guys with high and tight type scrotums experience with ball slippage where a testicle can sometimes pop out of the base ring. The 52mm (2.00 in.) ring fit me perfectly.

Cage Size

Cage Length: 58mm – 2.25 in.

Internal Diameter: 31mm – 1.25 in.

The cage length is about one-quarter inch longer than I need for my flaccid penis, but the slight extra length didn’t cause me any real issues. The internal diameter at the cage’s insertion end comes in at 31mm (about 1.25 in.), which is a little tight for me. I prefer a 1-3/8 in. internal diameter, but I can safely and comfortably wear a device with a 1.25 in. ID. The slightly tighter fit wasn’t a problem for me, but it might be too tight for guys with a heftier girth. It also requires the use of the “stocking method” to properly insert the penis.

From the insertion end to the tip, the cage flares into a bulb-like affair, so the further you go along the length of the device, the internal diameter gets slightly larger. I don’t know why they designed the device that way unless it was to provide more room for the glans of the penis at the end of the cage. I don’t find that design aspect particularly needful or useful, but it doesn’t hurt anything.

Gap Measurement

I measured the gap between the base ring and cage and found it to be about 3/8 inch, which works well for me and is about right for most guys.

The Shackle Bird Doing Its Thing

Shackle Bird Color Options

There are two color options for the device. It is available in lime green/white or red/black. I liked the lime green and chose that option.

Overall Quality of the Shackle Bird

Overall, for a ten-dollar device, I found the quality of the Shackle Bird surprisingly good and better than a lot of the lower end, made in China steel devices I’ve tried. It seems constructed of quality plastic materials with tight tolerances.

The connection between the cage and base ring works much like that of the Holy Trainer chastity devices. The male end fabricated with the cage slides into the female receiver at the top of the base ring. It’s a nice tight fit with no up or down or side to side wobble. After connecting the two pieces, an integral brass lock (cheaper knock-off version of the Burg Wachter ME/2) inserts into the hole provided on the right side of the connection atop the base ring to secure the device.

While good overall, the quality of the device isn’t perfect. The hole where the integral lock is inserted was such a tight fit I had to lubricate the lock before it would go all the way in. I might have been able to force the lock into the hole without using the lubricant, but I was worried it might not be easily removed. Also, the 48mm base ring supplied with my device was misshapen (out of round). I don’t think it would have been usable if it was the size I’d needed. Otherwise, for ten bucks, no real complaints on the quality side.

How Discrete is the Shackle Bird?

There is only a slight downward angle of the cage tip from the base ring, making the Shackle Bird less stealthy than most of the other devices I’ve tried. The imprint was particularly noticeable when I tried on gym shorts while wearing it. It was a little less noticeable when I put on a pair of relaxed-fit jeans. Still, the chastity bump isn’t so noticeable that I’d feel self-conscious about it or hesitate to wear the device in public.

Hygiene Considerations With the Shackle Bird

The open-type cage design of the Shackle Bird makes it easy to keep the contents clean using my hand-held shower head. I was perfectly satisfied with it from that perspective.

The extra quarter-inch of cage length I don’t need means the tip of my penis doesn’t touch the end of the cage, which means urinating while standing tends to be a risky affair. As with many chastity devices, I found it best to sit while peeing.

Conclusion and Recommendation

After wearing the Shackle Bird for three days and sleeping while wearing it for two nights, I was more than happy with how comfortable it is to wear. As with all plastic devices, it is very lightweight, and it didn’t take long at all before I wasn’t consciously aware I was wearing it.

While you can’t expect the quality of a Holy Trainer device for a bargain price, I found the Shackle Bird of surprisingly good quality for a device that comes in at around ten bucks. Unlike many inexpensive, mass-produced chastity devices, you get four different base rings to choose from, which is a real plus.

For guys looking for an inexpensive entry point into the chastity life, I think you could spend more and get a lot less than the Shackle Bird offers. It could be a good trainer device at a bargain price. You can find the device offered by various sellers on eBay from anywhere between $9.99 to $14.99. Remember to take your measurements first to make sure the cage length and internal cage diameter will work for you.

A269 Bird Hook Cage Device Review

Having found myself with some time this afternoon, I decided to post a review for the device I’ve been wearing the last few days, the A269 Bird Hook Cage Device.

Mostly thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the frequency of my posting here has dwindled. Other things of higher priorities have consumed my attention. Things like trying to save my retirement accounts from complete destruction, finding new sources for toilet paper, etc. I’m sure you get the drift as I’m sure anyone reading this has their own pandemic war stories to tell. To be fair, I’ve also been spending a lot of time on my writing. I have a slew of books I have to have ready for publication in the fall. So there is that, too. Now, on to the review.

Intro

Don’t get too wrapped up in the terminology here. This device it seems is available from just about everywhere on the planet that sells made in China metal chastity devices. Most suppliers have their own name and model number for it. Some have none at all. But, given its rather distinctive appearance, it’s sort of like porn. Maybe you can’t define it, but you sure as hell know it when you see it.

I’ve been wanting to take this micro-chastity device for a test drive ever since reading Thumper’s review of it on his blog, Denying Thumper. I actually ordered one way back then and have had it for months, but only got around to trying it out this past weekend.

The device is manufactured (at least the one I have) from medical grade stainless steel. The device is available either with or without a plastic urethral tube. The assembled tube has a threaded connection at one end that passes through the urination hole in the nose of the device, and the usual connection on the other end designed for insertion into the urethral opening of your Johnson.

If you want the urethral tube, make sure you read the fine print on the site where you intend to purchase the device. Many of the places I’ve looked at didn’t include it. Where it is offered, it is generally included in the price.

The Bird Hook comes with one solid steel base ring available in the three usual sizes, and an integrated brass “magic lock” with two keys.

Meet the Bird Hook

a269-bird-hook-review
A269 Bird Hook Cage Device

The Bird Hook is another standard ball-trapping device. There is a female receiver welded to the top front of the base ring that accepts the male part of the locking mechanism. Once they have been joined together, the “magic lock” slides from left to right into the channel formed by the two parts. There are also steels pins welded to the cap on either side of the locking device that gets inserted into corresponding drilled holes on the front of the base ring. The purpose of these pins is to provide the necessary gap between the base ring and cage and maybe for some extra stability when the device is locked in place.

As a review, here is the parts list for this medical grade stainless steel device:

  1. Solid stainless steel base ring.
  1. Stainless steel (shower head style) cage with a center urethral opening.
  1. Integrated brass “magic lock” with two keys.
  1. Plastic urethral tube with end fittings (Optional)

Fit

Because it is a micro-cage, to join the cage, which is like a large, cupped stainless steel button, to the base ring, it requires your flaccid penis to “turtle” up inside the body. This is something I first experienced with my Cherry Keeper cage, which works similarly. I find it quite comfortable. Since the cage (or cap as I call it) does little more than cover the head of the penis, I think it’s realistically a one-size-fits-all proposition, and most any guy could wear this device without problems.

The Bird Hook Doing It’s Thing

micro-chastity-device

Comfort

This is seriously one of the most comfortable chastity devices I have ever worn. After three days, and two nights wearing it, I hardly realize I even have it on. It is a hefty piece of steel, yet given the small footprint, you get the satisfying feel of solid steel between your legs without any feeling of heaviness. I absolutely love the low profile, which doesn’t produce a noticeable chastity bump, no matter what you’re wearing.

As you can see in the image of me wearing the device, my urethral opening is perfectly aligned with the urination hole. I don’t know if it was pure luck that happened when I put it on a few days ago or not since I’ve not removed it and put it back on. But, as a result of the alignment, I can stand up and pee like a real boy without spraying the entire toilet. I get a predictable, steady stream whenever I need to urinate. There is a beveled edge on the interior side of the cage where it slips over the head of the penis, and that seems to hold the head in place. This is the reason I believe my urethral opening has remained perfectly aligned since I put the thing on. That begs the question about the usefulness of the urethral tube.

Personally, I’m not a fan of shoving things inside my urethra. Especially in this COVID-19 era, I don’t want to chance an infection right now. Having some experience with penis plugs, I know from experience that you can do everything right and still sometimes end up with an infection. Ordinarily, it’s no big deal, but right now isn’t a great time to make an unnecessary trip to the doctor.

The thing I dislike most about the urethral tube supplied with this device is it comes in separate parts—two detachable stainless steel fittings that you press into the ends of the short length of rubber tubing, and the tubing itself. This is not something that is ever going inside my urethra. However, remote the chance, in the worst-case scenario, the insertion bit could become detached from the hose. I’ve heard a few horror stories where that exact thing happened. In all but one of those stories, an embarrassing trip to the ER was required to have it professionally removed. If I ever get the urge to use a tube with a device, I’ll stick to a solid piece of stainless steel tubing. And, as mentioned earlier, if you get things lined up correctly, the tube seems completely unnecessary.

Security

The device seems as secure as you could reasonably expect from any ball-trapping device worn without a piercing. I suspect there is a Harry Houdini or two out there who could find a way to slip it off while locked. But for most of us who put on a chastity device for its intended purpose and not as an escape attempt challenge, the Bird Hook offers ample security.

Hygiene

In my opinion, this device will likely have to be removed periodically to perform effective cleaning if it is worn for extended periods. The cage (or cap) completely encases the head of the penis, and directing water at the tiny holes in the nose won’t likely come close to allowing for effective cleaning. On the other hand, the “turtled” shaft of the penis resides inside the wearer’s body so that part of things probably won’t require frequent cleaning. I’m picky about hygiene, and regardless of what kind of device I’m wearing, I always take it off weekly for a thorough cleaning, anyway. So, I don’t consider this a shortcoming of the device or any major inconvenience.

Recommendation

For someone who enjoys or would like to experience micro-chastity, I think the Bird Hook is an excellent choice. I really love how it simply makes my Johnson disappear, leaving behind only a shiny stainless steel cap pressed tightly against my testicles. I love the sleek profile, and as mentioned, I find this device exceptionally comfortable to wear, even while jogging.

As I said at the beginning, the device is available from just about every supplier of metal chastity devices, so they aren’t challenging to find. For a made in China chastity cage, I am very impressed with the quality, and they are very inexpensive. I think I got mine from the Wish website, but prices are pretty consistent across all the sites I’ve seen. I paid $10.95 for mine several months ago. Today they range from between $12.95 to $16.95. Amazon has them for $14.95 with free expedited shipping for Prime members.

As always, this review represents my own opinions. I purchased the item reviewed from my own funds. Prices provided were accurate at the time of publication, but may have changed. I hope you find the review useful, and comments are always welcome.
