The Hera Chastity Device – Olympus Has Risen

Arrival of the Black Hera device in my mailbox today I ordered from the House of Denial recently prompted this bonus post on this seventh day of Locktober 2023.

I Was Impressed Right Out of the Box

I’ve loved my Kink3D Cobra since I put it on for the first time. The comfort of this quality made 3D printed device is second to none. But Cobra pricing has never impressed me nearly as much. Recently I learned that the House of Denial had come out with their own 3D printed device designed by their in-house team, and best of all I learned the Hera kit is less expensive than the Cobra. So, I just had to try one. Would the Hera be of similar quality? Would it be as comfortable to wear? Let’s find out.

It impressed me immediately when I opened the shipping box and found the fancy, stormy gray storage box in which the House of Denial delivers the Hera kit. Grabbing the ribbon tab, I pulled open the drawer compartment and got my first look at the Hera cage. Beautiful. I removed it from the storage compartment and ran my fingers over the exterior surface and then the interior. Yes, I found the Hera finish every bit as smooth as my Cobra with the same silky feel. Opening the other compartment, I found a fancy red velvet drawstring bag that contained the base ring, brass barrel lock, and two keys. The base ring had the same smooth, silky feel as the cage. I found the device is the same shade of black as the Cobra even though it looks lighter on the House of Denial website.

I had a hard time deciding whether to order the Black Hera or the White Hera. I really like the white color, but hoping my Kink3D Airlock would work with the Hera, I finally chose the black. Unfortunately, my only disappointment came when I tried my spare Airlock in the Hera and discovered it wouldn’t fit. It fits the lock chamber, but the Airlock locking pin seems slightly too long. I will probably destroy my spare by cutting it down to see if I can make it work.

Of course, having the Hera in hand, I definitely wanted to try it on. I hadn’t expected to try it until Locktober ends, but I decided to risk asking Lucie if I could try it on. I wasn’t confident she would agree. Once a lock up begins, Lucie doesn’t like unnecessary unlocks. She doesn’t even unlock me for regular cleanings. But I had to ask.

I texted my request along with a photo of the Hera. And to my delight, Lucie answered straight away. She gave me permission to unlock briefly to have a proper cleaning in the shower, and to clean the Cobra since a week had passed. And she said I could try on the Hera while I waited for the Cobra parts to air dry. Lucie then told me after the brief try on she wanted me locked back in the Cobra because she wouldn’t risk issues with an untested device when we already know the Cobra works so well for me. Fair enough.

I cleaned the Hera, then removed the Cobra and showered. Then I cleaned the Cobra and set it aside to dry. I grabbed the freshly cleaned Hera, slipped on the base ring and the cage, and locked up. Oh my. It felt wonderful. The ring size I ordered fit perfectly, and the gap felt just right. I only got to wear it for about 10 minutes because Lucie required a proof photo that I had relocked by a specified time and 10 minutes was all the time I could spare. So, I look it off and relocked with the Cobra. Ten minutes isn’t a fair test drive, so I won’t have the opportunity to do a proper wear test for a device review until after Locktober ends. But I can say I found the Hera just as comfortable as my Cobra.

One thing surprised me. From the images on the House of Denial website, I had expected the Hera to be about the same size as my Cobra N. But it is actually smaller. I can’t say for certain since I don’t have the Kink3D Baby, but I think the Hera XS (extra small) is probably close to the same size. While it doesn’t feel like the device forces any “turtling” for me, the cage essentially contains only the glans of my penis. I absolutely love the fit and can’t wait to wear the Hera again.

I’m so happy with the Hera, I may order the white one I was tempted to buy in the first place. But since the House of Denial website information hints at the possibility of new colors soon, I may hold off to see what other colors become available.

At the first opportunity, I’ll give the Hera a proper test drive and will then publish a full review.

The Hera by House of Denial

Does the Kink3D Cobra Chastity Device Finally Have a Challenger?

Often imitated but never duplicated, the Kink3D Cobra is one of the most popular chastity devices on the market. While lower-priced (but lower quality) counterfeit Cobra devices abound, the Cobra remains popular even though the device is among the priciest plastic, non-custom devices available. That is mostly because of the lack of any actual competition. But that may be about to change.

The Kink3D Cobra is arguably the most comfortable, high-quality 3D printed chastity device available. Because of its popularity, the Cobra is often imitated but never duplicated. Yes, you can find some decent knock-offs, but none that offer the quality of the Kink3D original. For that reason, the Cobra has had no real competition. That has allowed the device to remain among the priciest, non-custom options on the market.

I paid $160 for my Cobra N chastity kit about four or five months ago. Today it goes for $170. Prices for the original black Cobra model range from $160 for the Baby to $200 for the BFG. With the rollout of the fusion pink model, Kink3D tacked on another $40 for the new color option across the board for the eight available sizes.

Not everyone can afford to buy an original Cobra at those prices. But it appears Kink3D sells plenty of the devices at current prices since prices are increasing, not going down. I’ve never heard of the company offering even an occasional market-wide discount like other manufacturers do. Not even for special events occasions like Locktober. The Cobra pricing strategy seems to be “whatever the market will bear” and I don’t expect that to change until a legitimate competitor appears. Well, that day may have come. Introducing the 3D printed Black Hera Chastity Kit available from House of Denial.

Like the Cobra, the first in House of Denial’s exclusive new Olympus line of male chastity devices, the Hera, is manufactured of high-quality Nylon 12 using the latest 3D printing technology and boasts first rate quality finishing. The Hera, like the Cobra, also incorporates snap fitting locking pins, which hold the cage and base ring together while you reach for the lock and key. They make the device in the UK. And best of all, the price (at today’s exchange rate) of the Hera across all six cage sizes (XS-XXL) is about $121 USD (£99.99).

I’ve ordered the extra small (XS) Hera to wear test and review (saving about 29% over a comparable size Cobra) so I can soon offer a valid Hera versus my Cobra comparison review. Based on the image and measurements provided on the House of Denial website, I expect the XS is very close to the size of my Cobra N. Like the Cobra, the Hera kit comes with one base ring (12 sizes, 36mm-60mm, available), and the same type internal (Magic-lock style) lock with two keys. The Hera is also available with a Hexlock screw locking system at the same price.

While I ordered the black Hera, the device is also available in “stately white with a subtle quartz effect finish” for the same price.

As you can see from the comparison images, the Hera design looks very similar to the Cobra, but the device is not just another Cobra knock-off. This device could develop the same type of loyal following as the Kink3D device, especially with its more favorable price point. That depends, of course, on whether the quality and fit of the Hera matches that of the Cobra. Having purchased off-the-shelf devices from House of Denial in the past and being well satisfied with them, I’m confident the Hera will match up well. And if it does, the Kink3D Cobra may finally have some real competition from a similar quality 3D printed device at a better price.

Stay tuned for the Hera review, which will appear here soon after Locktober 2023 ends.

KINK3D Fulfills Promise Rolling Out Cobra Fusion Pink

Since the inception of the Kink3D Cobra 3-D printed chastity device, the company emulated Henry Ford’s famous philosophy when he started manufacturing the Model T. When asked what color Ford would offer the cars in, he said: “Any color the customer wants, as long as it’s black.” So, Kink3D customers got the same singular color choice, basic black. But after two years of R&D, Kink3D fulfilled its promise for other color options with the rollout of Cobra Fusion PinkTM.

As I mentioned recently in my review of the Kink3D Cobra N, the company has long promised additional color choices. That had appeared on the company’s website for years, which made me wonder how committed they were to the idea. But they have fulfilled the promise with the first new color since the company put the Cobra device on the market by rolling out the Kink3D Cobra Fusion PinkTM model. The popular Cobra chastity device will now be available in a vibrant shade of pink. Kink3D is now taking preorders and will begin shipping the new devices in mid-July, although that may extend to September depending on the model ordered.

Kink3D Cobra Fusion Pink Available Sizes and Pricing

The Fusion Pink Cobra comes in the same eight sizes as the original black Cobra. The devices are available as kits (cage, one base ring, and lock) and you can order the cages and rings separately.

Expect to pay $40 more across the entire line for the Fusion Pink kits than the original black models cost. Those who truly prefer pink chastity devices may find paying more to get one well worth it. Those who are fine with basic black might prefer to save a few bucks. While I love the new color, I’m happy with black.

Other Cobra Fusion Pink Data

According to the website, Kink3D manufactures the Fusion Pink cages with non-reactive PA12 nylon without any colorants that might irritate sensitive skin.

The company applies a unique solvent at a lower temperature, that protects the bright pink color and gives the devices a glossy finish and a slightly more grippy feeling texture compared to the standard black devices.

In conclusion, if you’ve longed for a hot pink Cobra, your ship has come in.

Have We Reached the End of Interesting New Chastity Device Designs?

There was a once popular meme with text that read, “Congratulations. You have now reached the End of the Internet.” Today, I’m wondering, have we reached the end of interesting new chastity device designs? Say it isn’t so!

The Dearth of New Chastity Device Designs

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a chastity device review. But it hasn’t been because of a lack of interest. At least monthly, I scour the webs for interesting new chastity device designs, looking for something intriguing enough to buy and review. But for months, it’s been the same old story. I got nothing. Maybe the proverbial well has finally run dry of ideas for creating new chastity device designs. I could be wrong, but I think the 3D-printed Cobra device by Kink3D was the last noteworthy new design, and it has been out for a long while now. Long enough, in fact, that other manufacturers have copied it to death.

Yes, I get it. There is really only one way to attach a chastity device to the human male genitals without the aid of a PA piercing. That alone is a significant creative barrier in designing new devices. Sure, there are full chastity belts. And while I briefly flirted with the idea of trying one of those, after researching them, I lost interest. They are far more complicated to measure for and require a great deal more maintenance than your standard ball-trap device. And if you gain or lose significant weight, a pricey belt may no longer fit.

Of course, there are plenty of existing device styles I haven’t tried. But I don’t buy and review devices simply because they have some cosmetic differences to those I’ve already tried. After all, I have plenty of custom-made, well crafted devices gathering dust in a drawer that fit me and are comfortable to wear without adding a device to my rather extensive collection that I know I’d likely never wear again. So, unless I spot a device I know I’ll probably put some mileage on if it fits well and feels comfortable to wear long-term, I won’t buy it.

As one example, I’ve never had the slightest interest in trying a Cellmate. I can’t imagine they are comfortable at all. Frankly, they look to me like one of those combination lock boxes realtors hang on the doorknobs of houses they have listed. Those devices with a tube that feature a metal cast lion’s head with gaping jaws and teeth and the end hold no attraction for me. I shudder to think what might happen to the tip of a penis in one of those things in the event of a nocturnal erection. And the pink micro chastity devices with molded vulva lips as a cage do nothing for me.

There are a handful of devices that have been out for a long time, made by quality manufacturers, and that have large followings. But for one reason or another, the devices have never intrigued me enough to persuade me to buy them. So, yeah. Maybe we have reached the end of interesting new devices until someone thinks up a new and superior method of attaching a chastity device to the body, what we have is what we get. Frankly, I’m surprised some enterprising plastic surgeon hasn’t invented a method of surgically attaching a chastity device. After all, body modification seems all the rage now.

What's a Chastity Device Reviewer to Do?

Around the end of March, I was considering buying a KINK3D device to wear test and review. I have reviewed several Cobra counterfeits, but haven’t tried the genuine article. And, it seems only fair to the company to at least test drive the real deal. But about the same time, it occurred to me I hadn’t worn my Holy Trainer Nub in a long while. So, I put it on April 1 and immediately remembered why it is one of my favorite devices and one of the most comfortable I’ve ever worn. Like some of my favorite custom made devices, the Nub is so comfortable I sometimes find my hand inside my underwear, making sure it is still there.

There is a lot to love about the Holy Trainer Nub. At least I think so. I like shorter cages because I like the tip of my penis to always be in contact with the end of the cage. And the Nub performs perfectly in that regard. In fact, my meatus (urethral opening) protrudes slightly beyond the generous urination port of the Nub, looking like tiny labia majora. This makes it possible to urinate while standing with little risk of spraying urine all over the place. I easily hit the target every time with no mess. The design of the device lifts the testicles slightly, which means they never accidentally get crushed by the thighs as happens with other devices I’ve worn. Last, the device is just plain comfortable and light as a feather.

Holy Trainer Nub V5

Short story longer, getting reacquainted with the Nub V4 motivated me to pull up the Holy Trainer website to have a look at the new model, the Nub V5. The noticeable difference between the models is the V4 has the traditional Holy Trainer “MagicLocker” while the V5 has a new integrated push-button lock that uses “barrel” keys. I’ve been curious about how that works since the V5 model came out. I have read claims on a few other chastity websites that the V5 has some other minor improvements, but just looking at them on the Holy Trainer site reveals nothing obvious. Anyway, I placed an order for a Nub V5 and expect to receive it early next week. So, I’ll be switching from the V4 to the V5 for a wear test in a few days.

I intend to buy and review a Kink3D Cobra next, for the information of anyone interested. But those devices have been long available and I expect most people interested in them and who want only authentic devices have already got one. So, maybe I’ll only be satisfying my curiosity about how well the knock-offs I’ve tried stack up again the original. But hopefully someone may find a review of the Cobra useful. Meanwhile, look for the Nub V5 review coming soon.

The Steelworxx Thunder Chasity Device Has Landed

My Steelworxx Thunder Chastity Device Has Landed.

The Steelworxx Thunder chastity device I ordered arrived today. I sweet talked my Keyholder into allowing me to kick the tires and take it for a spin. It will be a while before I can give it a proper wear test, but I wanted to share my initial impressions.

Initial Impressions of the Steelworxx Thunder

Smooth is the first word that came to mind when I slipped on the Steelworxx Thunder chastity device for the first time. It really is as shiny as I’d heard and the Thunder is a testament to the quality Steelworxx puts into their products.

Something that surprised me is how light weight the device is given it has a completely closed tube. I didn’t take the time to dig out my scale, by it feels lighter than many of the open cage-type devices I own. The interior of the tube felt as smooth as satin when I slipped it on. While I believe I nailed the inside diameter I ordered, I was able to fully insert my peen without needing to resort to the old stocking method.

The base ring is a bit beefier than those of the other devices I wear most often, but if anything that only makes it more comfortable. The device felt comfortable the moment I put it on. Could the Thunder be the most comfortable device I’ve ever worn? I think it’s possible. Unlike the similar designed Steelheart, the Thunder has a flat rather than rounded nose. I like the look and the generously sized urine outlet.

The Thunder Doing Its Thing
Generously-sized urine outlet

I couldn’t be happier with the fit, quality, and comfort of the Thunder. Can’t wait until I can properly wear test it, but I have a feeling this may become one of my favorite chastity devices. For some reason, it makes me more aware of the contents then wearing any of my usual open-style cages. And it’s a bit of an adjustment looking down to see a piece of shiny stainless steel between your legs with no sign of a penis.

I’ll be sharing a full review at my earliest opportunity.

Upcoming Chastity Device Reviews

I’ve ordered two new devices, so get ready for more upcoming chastity device reviews.

Since I’m still many weeks away from receiving either of the new custom-made chastity devices I’ve recently ordered, I ordered two inexpensive devices that I’ll feature in upcoming chastity device reviews. I like to wear test and review both custom and less expensive off-the-shelf devices so that this blog covers the bases for everyone interested in exploring male chastity.

Have a look at the two devices I should receive soon.

The A271 Stainless Steel Device

This isn’t a device that holds much personal appeal for me, but I’m always looking for a basic, inexpensive steel device that I might find worthy of recommending to beginners. A guy I’ve chatted with recently is having a difficult time finding a first device that works well for him. He’s already tried the Holy Trainer, but found it unsatisfactory and prefers steel, anyway. Also, he prefers something with a closed tube rather than a device with an open-style wire cage. So, I hope the A271 might fit the bill. It is mostly a closed tube with an open-style cap that should offer easier urination and cleaning.

The A271 tube or cage measures 42mm (1.65354 inches). That’s toward the shorter end of the scale for the guy I’ve spoken with who told me his average flaccid size is around 2.5 inches. But as I’ve said before, going a little shorter will never cause you problems. The inside diameter is 33mm (1.29921 inches), which is adequate for this guy’s flaccid diameter of 1.2 inches. The A271 comes with one ergonomic-shaped base ring, and the sizes available are 45mm, or 50mm. I ordered the 45mm ring since I’m wear-testing this device and that’s the closest to my ideal 43mm base ring size. The guy I’m trying to help shared he requires about a 48mm ring so would need to order the 50mm if he chose to try this device.

I got the A271, which I found available from many eBay sellers, for ten bucks, and it doesn’t get much cheaper than that. I only hope when it arrives that it really is stainless-steel, not chrome plated, which can cause rashes for some guys with sensitive skin.

Mamba Male Device

The second device I ordered is the Mamba Male Chastity device. This looks quite like the Cobra knock-off I recently reviewed, but with a shorter cage, 60mm (2.3622 inches) instead of 75mm (2.95276 inches). So, I’m hopeful it will work better than the longer Cobra cage I tried since I did order this device for personal use and for a specific purpose.

Later this year, I’ll travel to Europe and then the Caribbean. Since I’ll be spending time on planes and passing through metal detectors, I wanted a device I could wear that hopefully would not end up putting me in a claustrophobic interview room showing my junk to a TSA officer. I heard about this device and checked it out.

Besides the compact size, this plastic device also uses a plastic “Air Lock” and standard plastic numbered lock to secure the tube to the base ring. There is no metal at all with this device. So, it significantly reduces the chances of detection while passing through security. Of course, wearing a chastity device on an aircraft is not a violation of any law or TSA rule, but I’d rather not have that awkward discussion with a complete stranger at an airport that I’ve heard other guys have had to endure.

The "Air Lock" is Travel-Friendly
Mamba Specs

Besides the 60mm (2.3622 inches) cage length, the Mamba device cage has an internal diameter of 30mm (1.1811 inches). That’s a little tighter than I prefer, but will work without comprising my circulation. It comes with a four-size base ring selection including a 42mm size. A supply of plastic numbered locks comes with the “Air Lock.”

The Mamba only set me back $12, so I think it’s well worth a test spin. Sure, I could fly unlocked and put my device back on after arriving at my destination, but I’d rather be locked full time. Maybe this device will provide exactly what I’m looking for.

Badassworkroom Custom Chastity Device Maker Has Gone Dark?

After the stellar customer service I received from badassworkroom with my first order, the company has inexplicably gone dark and is not replying to customer inquiries.

Thumper believes for a couple of reasons, badassworkroom is located in Hong Kong rather than mainland China (As explained in his review of the BA-31P). However, a recent experience makes me believe that is not the case. With my previous dealings with the company, I was super impressed with the customer service experience. The company hosts a chat client on the website I used to ask questions about the BA-12. Previously, when I posed a question, a representative replied within minutes, if not immediately. Not so much at the moment. I was so impressed with my BA-12, I decided to order a second device from the badassworkroom, the BA-05. But I wanted a minor modification, specifically adding two horizontal bars on the nose to prevent any possibility of the glans of my penis slipping between the two vertical bars. And yes, I have experienced this with another device while sleeping and it wasn’t a pleasant sensation. But after three attempts using both the chat client and emailing, I have received no response to my question about getting the modification after a full week. The company seems to have gone dark. For that reason, I have shelved my plan to order the BA-05 for now.

I can’t believe the company suddenly discontinued their stellar customer service, which leads to an obvious conclusion. It must be located in one of the 225 cities in China where the government has imposed their Draconian “zero COVID” policy lockdowns. Stringent COVID lockdowns hit both Hong Kong and neighboring Shenzhen in early March, but according to media reports, those restrictions have long since been lifted. So if the badassworkroom is located in either of those places, why are they not responding to customer inquiries? That seems to show it is a mainland China located business.

Since I suspect there are probably voluminous unanswered customer inquiries by this point, I’m not confident of ever getting a response to my three inquiries. So I suppose I’ll wait until the media reports that the government of China has eased the lockdowns before attempting to contact them again. None of this bodes well for badassworkroom, though. If they are in a lock downed city, chances are the manufacturing backlog is as great as the backlog of unanswered customer inquiries, which means it’s unlikely their enviable past rapid delivery performance will continue at least for the foreseeable future. So, if Thumper’s review of the BA-31P or my review of the BA-12 piqued your interest in badassworkroom chastity devices, you might take a step back and reconsider ordering from them at present. I suspect the automated system will accept your order and payment, but who knows when you could ever expect to receive your device?

In the greater scheme, maybe the access to affordable, quality made custom chastity devices delivered at unheard of speed isn’t a big deal. But this certainly casts doubt on Chinese companies as a whole as dependable retail partners, as long as the nation’s government persists in pursuing its unrealistic and unobtainable zero COVID policy. All I know is I’m not ordering from the badassworkroom again as long as the radio silence persists.

Despite what I’ve shared here, I still consider myself a satisfied badassworkroom customer, as far as my first device purchase. And I believe they have earned the benefit of the doubt, so I’ll say here I assume the current disappointing situation results from something beyond the company’s control. However, after raving about the company’s customer service in my positive recent review, fairness dictated alerting readers to the current circumstances. And, if things change, I’ll certainly report it.

Mail Call: A Question About Chastity Cage Inner Diameter

In this edition of Mail Call, I answer a question about chastity cage inner diameter.

Mail call! I dug deep into my spam folder for this one, so apologies for my untimely reply to the guy who asked the question. I still haven’t figured out how to get Gmail to play nice with my contact form. More often than not, the messages go to spam. I try to remember to check regularly, but I’ve had a lot of projects going on lately. So, sorry about that. If you have Twitter, you can always DM me there with your questions or comments.

Anyway, to the question. Brandon writes:

“Hey there I’m new to chastity and have bought 3 cages for myself. One is still on its way. The 2 I have are a CB6000S and a Ternence ‘window of opportunity’ 1.97 inch. The tube diameter is too small for the penis. I was able to fit into the Ternence with lots of lube. I realized I have alot of foreskin below the head (circumcised) that get in the way of the penis fitting in the tube. Also getting totally flaccid isn’t easy but it isn’t fully erect either. What’s the problem and where do I go from here?”

Hi Brandon,

My first question would be, did you take the time to accurately measure your peen before ordering the cages you mentioned? Sometimes, depending on the design of the device, guys have to use the “stocking method” to coax their penises all the way into a cage or tube. However, it should never be necessary to use any lube, much less lots, to accomplish that. That’s a good sign that the cages you mentioned are too tight. Even if you manage to get into it, it could be the cage is exerting continuous compression on your penis, even when it’s flaccid. You don’t want that. You don’t want a lot of extra space inside a cage (inner diameter or length) but it shouldn’t feel tight as soon as you put it on, or try.

The thing is, mass-produced chastity devices, including the two you’ve bought, are designed for guys with average size penises. Average penis flaccid diameter (circumference divided by pi) is a few decimal places over 1.20 inches (about 31mm). The Ternence you mentioned has an inner diameter of about 32mm (1.25 inches). The CB6000S has an inner diameter of about 35mm (1-3/8 or 1.375 inches). So both are well within the range that works for guys with average size penises. Since that doesn’t seem to be the case with you, you’re probably looking at buying a custom-made cage that fits your actual measurements. Happily, today there are many affordable custom-made cages available. And I suspect you’ve already spent at least half the cost of a customized cage on the three cages you’ve already bought. Why keep throwing good money after bad?

As far as the excess foreskin, I have the same thing and have never found it a problem with a well-fitted cage. I’m average and a 1-3/8 inches inner diameter cage or tube fits me perfectly. I can get into a 1.25 inches cage, but it feels tighter than I like.

Yes, for some guys, a chastity device can be something of a fetish object, which might explain why you get hard while trying to put one on and that makes things difficult. The obvious answer is to ejaculate before you put a cage on, and problem solved. Otherwise, a cold shower or holding a bag of frozen peas against your unruly member for a couple of minutes will probably do the trick.

So, in summary. My advice is to measure your penis before ordering another cage that doesn’t work for you. I suggest measuring your flaccid peen three times a day over three days. Then either take an average, or do what I do and go with the smallest measurement you get. You can use a short length of string (the string method) or a shoelace. Wrap it around your soft shaft and then use a ruler or tape measure to measure the length of the string used. Or, even easier, use a soft tailor’s tape and save a step. Remember, the result will be the circumference of your flaccid penis, so divide that by pi (3.14) to get diameter. That’s the measurement that corresponds to the inner diameter of a chastity cage or tube.

Hope that helps and good luck, bud. Thanks for the question.

Have You Seen This $30 Modular Chastity Device?

A modular chastity device, with an integral S-hook, is designed for men with a PA (Prince Albert) piercing. Some can be modified for use by men with a frenum piercing.

From a simple aesthetic point of view, I’ve always liked the design of the Rigid Chastity Model 01 modular chastity device. But because of several reasons, my appreciation of the design has not tempted me to spend the $315 required to buy one.

First, the Model 01 is a modular chastity device designed for men with a PA (Prince Albert) piercing, or a frenum piercing, with a slight modification. I have neither and no plans to get pierced. Also, even though you can order the Model 01 without the S-hook, I’ve been unsure that a modular chastity device would work well for a guy without a piercing. Finally, Rigid has a reputation for long lead times between ordering and delivery and I’ve seen too many complaints they don’t do a good job of communicating with their customers when promised delivery dates go unmet.

But what if I could try the Model 01, or at least a device copying it, for one-tenth the price and without waiting months to get it? I’d be all in, and I am. I like to troll eBay for the latest chastity devices available from China. Eventually, it seems, every popular chastity device gets copied and shows up on eBay. So, it delighted me to find a stainless steel device that looks like an exact replica of the Rigid Model 01 for only thirty bucks. So, I ordered it.

Here are the seller’s images.

Yeah, But is the Copy a High Quality Modular Chastity Device?

Am I expecting this $30 copy to have the quality of the original? After all, despite the shortcomings mentioned, Rigid Chastity has an enviable reputation for producing high-quality chastity devices. Besides the quality workmanship, they also produce the shiniest stainless steel devices I’ve ever seen and people who own them say the gleam never goes away. To answer the question, no, I’m not expecting the quality of the original for two reasons.

I suspect the eBay seller not only copied Rigid Chastity’s design, but also scraped the above images from the Rigid website. While you can’t see it clearly in the first image above, when you look at that image on the seller’s eBay page, you can see the reflection of the person taking the photo on the nose of the device. Then, if you go to the Rigid website and look at a similar image, you see the identical reflection. Coincidence? Probably not. So when I receive the device, if the copy has the same brilliant shine as the Rigid original, it will surprise me. That is unless the manufacturer has chromed the metal. Actually, I expect it to have the nickel-like finish you get with most made in China stainless steel devices.

Also, like with most everything else, you typically get what you pay for with chastity devices. So, a reasonable person doesn’t expect to get the same thing for $30 that the original manufacturer sells for $315. Still, I’ve had good luck with most made in China devices I’ve tried. So, I’ll withhold judgement until the device hits my mailbox in a couple of weeks and wear test it.

And who knows? It may turn out a perfectly acceptable device that someone interested in the design but who can’t afford the Rigid original or doesn’t want to invest three hundred bucks in a chastity device might find acceptable. At worst, for very little money, I’ll probably satisfy my curiosity about whether a modular chastity device works for a guy without a penis piercing. So, I’m not taking much of a risk.

If you find reviews of inexpensive chastity devices copied from popular originals useful, stay tuned. I’ve already received one interesting device I’ll be wear testing and reviewing after February 14, and I expect this one to arrive by then too.

So I Ordered My First Steelworxx Male Chastity Device

I've got a new chastity device on the way, a Steelworxx® model, or at least it's in the works. But unfortunately, I won't be getting it anytime soon.

Thunderstruck, thunderstruck—Yeah, yeah, yeah, thunderstruck—Ooh, thunderstruck, yeah (Song by AC/DC)

So I Ordered My First Steelworxx Male Chastity Device

I typically prefer open cock cages since it makes daily cleaning in the shower a breeze and reduces how often I must remove the chastity device for a thorough cleaning. But for a while, I’ve considered buying a closed tube device, and a Steelworxx® chastity device has always been my first choice for a closed cage.

The big attraction of a closed tube is that it allows no penis contact whatsoever, which I suspect can become maddening. And not allowed even a glimpse of your flesh-and-blood dick is probably an interesting mindfuck too. I imagine that the cock cage essentially becomes a part of you, and maybe in your mind, you come to see the steel shell as your actual penis.

Most people recognize this German custom manufacturer, maker of the classic Steelheart, one of the most popular male chastity devices available. I’ve heard only rave reviews by guys who have done business with them.

Well, the time has come for me to try a closed tube device. But since it seems you can find millions of Steelheart reviews, I’ve settled on a different model, the Steelworxx® Thunder.

As you can see from the image, the Thunder shares some similarities with the Steelheart. But instead of the rounded nose, the nose of the Thunder has been squared off. It also features a more generous urine outlet.

While I had planned to order this device in late January or early February, when I checked out the Steelworxx® website, I learned the projected delivery lead time was already six months out. That seems a common downside to ordering custom-fitted chastity devices from European manufacturers, especially the popular ones. It seemed best not to delay any longer, so I pulled the trigger on January 1. I’m looking forward to trying out this shiny, new piece of German engineering, but sadly, I won’t be sharing a review anytime soon.

The Specifications

For the gearheads, here are the specs I ordered:

BA-31P Model

Always on the cutting edge of new male chastity devices, Denying Thumper announced on his Twitter feed on January 2 that he has this new device from badassworkroom.com. Thumper calls it a cross between the Steelworxx Steelheart and the Rigid Halfshell.

Naturally, I’m eager to read Thumper’s review. Had I known about the device before placing my order with Steelworxx, I might have opted for one of these instead because of the long delivery lead time. But since I’ve ordered the Thunder, I probably won’t be in the market for the BA-31P. However, that doesn’t mean I’m not excited about another of the company’s models.

Since they offer both custom-made and semi-custom chastity cages, I expect badassworkroom to become a popular company in the chastity device market.

Here is the model that captured my interest. Meet the BA-12 from badassworkroom. I’m very eager to get my hands on this bad boy. Here’s why. Last year I wanted to order Red Chili’s Sissy Cage chastity device. My interest in that model was the dramatic downward angle of the cage. But, after trying to order one three times and learning the company wasn’t taking orders because of their backlog, I gave up.

As you can see from the comparison images below, the BA-12 has that similar downward angle I found intriguing when I first saw the Sissy Cage. But, of course, part of the attraction of Red Chili chastity devices is what the company advertises. Their devices are customized works of art. The design of the BA-12 is more utilitarian than artistic, but I still think it’s a good-looking device and could certainly provide the experience I was looking for from the Sissy Cage. I’ll be ordering one as soon as the company gets back to me with the answer to a question I asked about the gap set by the manufacturer.
