What is Your Dream Male Chastity Device

What is your dream male chastity device? If money was no object, which cock cage would you buy?

Better judgment, financial responsibility, and a myriad other reasons keep many of us from making the purchase, but that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t love to find out what it’s like actually to lock up our cock in our dream chastity device.

Here are the two devices I dream of owning. Sadly, I’ll never own the first one. It’s fun to lust after, but the price is just too steep for me to ever justify buying it. The other, though not cheap, I plan to own before the end of 2021.

Steelwerks Full Metal Jacket

dream-male-chastity-devices

In my estimation, the Full Metal Jacket by Steelwerks is to handcrafted custom dream chastity devices what the Lamborghini is to dream automobiles. It represents the pinnacle of artistic, custom male chastity inspiration because the grand master of his craft, Chris Miers, has elevated the design and manufacturing of cock cages to an entirely new level of the imagination. This total containment male chastity

monolith is a monument to Steelwerks Extreme’s commitment to individually custom made perfection.

I return to the Steelwerks website again and again to savor the Full Metal Metal Jacket. I salivate and feel those familiar tremors in my loins. But each time, I take a deep breath, step back from the situation, and go through all the reasons, one-by-one for why I simply can’t justify paying that kind of money for a chastity device. If you aren’t familiar with Steelwerks products, they are to my knowledge the most expensive chastity devices on the market. We’re not talking premium quality here, but luxury quality. The Steelwerks line is so expensive, they don’t even list the prices on the website. Here is why, according to the FAQS page on their website.

Because Steelwerks exclusively makes custom devices, we are unable to list prices for items on our site. Our prices are based on the client’s design and individual specifications. While our chastity cages are on the higher end of the market, they can range in price between $1,200.00 to as high as $10,000.00, however many of the cages on the site are in the $1,400.00 to $2,500.00 range.

Like shopping for a Lamborghini, if you have to ask the price, you probably can’t afford a Steelwerks chastity device. The devices are truly works of art, and no doubt worth ever penny. The craftsmanship is amazing. But when it comes to chastity devices, I’m not looking for a sense of validation. Like owning an expensive car, owning an expensive chastity device doesn’t validate anything. It’s simply a symbol of your ability to buy something most people can’t. I’ve never asked for a quote on the Full Metal Jacket. I didn’t want to waste their time knowing I wasn’t a buyer. But I’d be surprised if it wasn’t somewhere in the $2,500 to $3,500 range.

What I love most about the Full Metal Jacket is the total containment factor. It not only encases your cock in stainless steel, but fully encloses your balls as well. For some reason I find that massively hot. Steelwerks does offer another total confinement model called the Alchemist with the radical full metal testicular containment feature they call the castanet. The Alchemist is manufactured from lighter-weight titanium instead of stainless steel and dubbed as Steelwerks “most exclusive model.” No doubt that means it is even more pricey than the Full Metal Jacket which is crafted from surgical grade stainless steel.

Not that I’d ever wish to see anyone copy Steelwerks beautiful, artistic, and innovative designs, but I suspect at some point, someone will come out with a less expensive chastity device that includes some type of testicular containment. I suppose I’ll just have to wait for that to experience it.

I don’t have permission to post the image here, but if you want to see an image on the Steelwerks website showing the the Full Metal Jacket doing its work click here.

The Sissy Cage From Red Chili

My other dream chastity device at the moment is a work of art in its own right, yet available at a more forgiving price point. It is the Red Chili custom-made Sissy Cage at www.malechastity-devices.com.

While feminization is not one of my kinks and I’m not looking to get more in touch with my feminine side, I really love the Sissy Cage for two reasons. I’m attracted by the extreme angle of the cage that forces the cock to follow the curvature of the scrotum.

I don’t have permission to post the image here, but to see an image on the Red Chili website showing the Sissy Cage in use you can click here.

dream-male-chastity-devices
Image Source www.malechastity-devices.com - Fair Use 17 USC Section 107

The other thing I like is because of the extreme curvature, the Sissy Cage is a very low profile device which won’t produce much of a chastity bump at all. That’s important to those of us who prefer to wear our cock cages in the stealth mode.

Red Chili chastity devices are manufactured in France and Spain, so the Sissy Cage comes in at 285€, including shipping, for those living outside Europe. At the current rate of exchange that’s about $338.00 USD, on par with most devices offered by other custom manufacturers. I’ll be adding this cage to my collection and reviewing it during 2021.

Male Chastity Now Amicus Review

My Male Chastity Now Amicus Review

Having worn my device for a full month, I’m ready to post my Male Chastity Now Amicus review.

Though it is billed as a semi-custom device because it is not fully customizable, the Amicus has become my favorite chastity device.

If you read the post, I’m Back In The Chastity Saddle Again, then you know I created a small problem for myself when starting with the Amicus because I decided to try an oval 1-5/8 inch base ring. It didn’t work at all. I got by for a few days using a base ring from my Mature Metal device, but Mark at MCN came through like a champ by delivering a round 1-7/8 inch base ring just four days after I ordered it. So, I’ve worn the device with the correct-sized ring now for most of the past thirty days.

Introduction

The MCN Amicus is a semi-custom cage since it is not “fully” customizable. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t lots of options available.

You can get the base ring with a specific ID (1-5/8 – 2-1/4), a customized ring-to-cage gap (1/4, 3/8, or 1/2), and, there are three different cage lengths to choose from that will accommodate flaccid penis lengths from two to three inches. You also have a choice between a padlock or a security screw.

The only measurement you can’t alter is the ID of the cage itself. All three available cage lengths come standard with a 1-1/4 inch inside diameter. The reason is because MCN doesn’t manufacture the cages. The company uses outsourced pre-made cages so they can offer a near custom-made product at a less expensive price point. While the cages are manufactured in China, trust me these are high-end, not the type of often substandard workmanship you find with cheap chastity devices sold on Amazon or eBay. MCN does custom manufacturer the base rings which are available in round or oval.

Meet The Amicus

male-chastity-now-amicus-review

The Amicus is a high end, 316 surgical-grade stainless steel open cage device with smooth, symmetric welds. Similar to the Mature Metal cages, the Amicus cage is polished to a high gloss finish inside and out. In my opinion, the quality workmanship comparison between my Amicus and my Mature Metal custom device is dead even. The Amicus is that good.

The Amicus is comprised of three parts—

  • Open-style cage
  • Base ring
  • Lock (padlock or security screw)

If you’re familiar with Mature Metal devices, the Amicus cage and base ring mates together in exactly the same way. That’s why I was able to use a Mature Metal base ring with the Amicus when I originally ordered the device with a base ring that didn’t work for me.

Since I use a long-distance keyholder, I ordered my device with the padlock option since my keyholder requires me to use numbered plastic locks.

Fit

I can’t say enough about how satisfied I am with the fit of the Amicus. Although I usually wear cages with a 1-3/8 inch ID which my measurement calls for, I’ve had no problems at all stepping down to the 1-1/4 inch ID that’s standard with the Amicus. Since I prefer slightly shorter cages than the length of my flaccid penis, I’ve had no problems working my soft dick fully into the cage without having to resort to the stocking method. The cage feels snug, but not overly so.

The measurements for my Amicus are—

  • 1-1/4 inch ID cage
  • 2 inch cage length
  • 1/4-inch cage to base ring gap
  • 1-7/8 inch round base ring

I rate the fit of my Amicus device as perfect. I don’t believe it could possibly be improved. When I get around to ordering MCN’s fully customizable Contender, which I plan to do, I will use the exact same measurements.

Comfort

Comfort is another aspect of the Amicus I could not be more pleased with. When Mark at MCN says he manufacturers the lightest stainless steel chastity devices available, he is telling the truth. This is the lightest weight chastity device I’ve ever worn. It’s so light, I’m rarely aware I’m wearing it.

I used to switch to a light-weight nylon cage for running, but no more. The Amicus works just fine for that, even on my long runs. I’ve experienced zero issues with chafing or pinching while wearing the device.

Security

As I always say, no ball-trapping device without a PA ring is one-hundred percent secure. Someone determined to take one off while locked will find a way to do it. But, with the right size base ring I feel the Amicus is as secure as any other device of similar style and quality.

Hygiene

Since the Amicus is an open-style cage device, keeping things clean while caged is a snap. I soap up and use a hand-held shower-head which does a great job. I think I could literally wear the thing without ever removing it with no ill effects in the hygiene department.

Unlike my other cage-style devices, the Amicus has no horizontal bars at the end of the cage, only the two rounded vertical ones. Personally, I love the design because it means I have less issues when I need to pee. In fact, I usually can pee while standing without all the problems you often have trying that with most male chastity devices. For some guys, the lack of horizontal bars, might be an issue.

While I’ve never experienced it, I had one guy tell me that while becoming erect while wearing a cage without horizontal bars at the tip (like the Amicus) the head of his penis pushed between the vertical bars and things got painful as the erection continued. For that reason, he won’t wear a cage without horizontal bars. In fact, my previous keyholder wouldn’t allow me to wear a cage designed like the Amicus because she feared the same thing might happen. The good news is there is an easy fix, if you simply must have horizontal bars.

For an additional charge, Mark at MCN will add two horizontal bars between the vertical bars. I know someone who has had an Amicus cage modified by Mark who told me the result was excellent.

Other Impressions

From a purely aesthetic point of view, I loved the looks of my Amicus right out of the box. The craftsmanship and quality, in my estimation, is second to none. Shipping was unbelievably fast! Four days after I placed my order, the Amicus was in my mailbox. I had the same experience when I ordered the replacement base ring.

Another thing is I haven’t had nearly the problem with rotation while wearing the Amicus as I have with my Mature Metal device when locking with a numbered plastic lock. The locking pin tends to stay exactly on top where it is supposed to. This may be due to the reduced weight or because the 1-1/4 inch ID cage grips things a little tighter. But it is yet another thing I really love about this device.

Recommendation

For any guy with a flaccid penis length from two to three inches and who can fit a 1-1/4 inch ID cage, I enthusiastically recommend the MCN Amicus. Given the quality and craftsanship of the device, I think it is a steal at the current price point. If you’re ready to step up to a high-quality stainless steel chastity cage with a price that won’t break the bank, have a look at the Amicus. Though it’s not fully custom, it’s as close as it gets and available at an excellent price.

Mature Metal’s Watchful Mistress Review

While updating the chastity device reviews page, it dawned on me that I’ve never written a Watchful Mistress review for my workhorse Mature Metal chastity device. Since this is the only custom-made device I own at present, that’s inexcusable. So, I’m going to remedy that right now.

I’ve worn the device for almost five months now, so I feel well-positioned to give my opinion.

Intro

At the start, I can tell you unequivocally that there is no comparison to wearing a custom-made device and wearing a mass-manufactured, off-the-the-shelf one. It’s like comparing a Cadillac to a Chevrolet Spark. The Spark may get you from point A to point B, but the ride will not be nearly as enjoyable.

My Watchful Mistress, one of the five models currently offered by Mature Metal, looks like a work of art. It’s impossible to exaggerate the fine craftsmanship and quality that Mature Metal puts into their products. It’s lightweight, and it has a consistent gap all around, which I love.

Meet The Watchful Mistress

watchful-mistress

The Watchful Mistress is another standard ball-trapping device that comes in three parts.

  1. Base ring
  2. Open-style stainless-steel cage
  3. Lock (Abus padlock or security screw)

Mature Metal offers base rings in fifteen sizes, from 1-1/4 inches up to 3-inches. You have a choice between round and the more ergonomic oval-shaped base rings.

I went with the round base rings. Besides ordering the size my measurements called for, I also invested in two extra base rings in 1/4-inches increments smaller. It turns out it was a good decision. While I can wear any of the rings with the device, the smallest ring I ordered fits me best. Double base rings are also available at an additional cost.

I really love how the Watchful Mistress fits me perfectly, both concerning length and cage inside diameter. The tip of my penis sits flush against the tip of the cage, making urination a less iffy proposition. I went with the 1-3/8 inches inside diameter, which feels perfect for me. My flaccid penis fills the cage with no extra space, but without any sensations of the cage feeling overly tight. With this cage, I have not once had a problem with overnight, spontaneous attempted erections.

You can select from fourteen different cage inside diameter measurements when ordering the Watchful Mistress—from 1-inch to 2-inch at 1/8-inch increments. You can order the cage in lengths from 1-1/2 inches up to 5-inches, with fifteen options offered at 1/4-inch increments.

Mature Metal offers two locking options—Abus padlock or security screw. Be aware that the Abus padlock has a larger diameter hasp than most comparable small padlocks. If you choose the padlock option, Mature Metal drills the hole in the connecting pin just a tiny bit larger than the lock’s hasp. As a result, it’s a tight fit. That means using another padlock you may have lying around won’t give you the same fit, and that can cause problems.

Frankly, I didn’t understand why they made the fit between the lock hasp and pinhole so tight. I first assumed it was to minimize the lock rattling around and the resultant noise you get with some steel devices. That may be part of the reason, but not all.

The way the lock fits tightly in the pinhole also helps keep the device in the proper position when worn by limiting the normal rotation to the left and right you get with most every ball trapping device with a round base ring. When you move or walk, sit or stand up, the base ring, and consequently, the entire device tends to turn a bit from on center. When I substituted a lock with a smaller hasp for the Abus, the device rotated far more readily than any other steel device I’ve worn. It turns so much it can actually get your scrotum in such a bind it can be majorly uncomfortable.

At the moment, I’m wearing the device with a plastic numbered lock since I have a long-distance keyholder and am experiencing the same problem I just described. It gets annoying because it can wake you at night when your scrotum gets all twisted up in the device. Also, every time you have the urge to urinate, you must first adjust the device to its proper position.

I don’t consider the excessive rotation problem a defect. It’s more that the device is designed for use with a particular lock. I expect the security screw provides the same function as the Abus lock though I’ve not tried that locking option. At any rate, the device simply doesn’t stay in the correct alignment if you try substituting some other padlock or a plastic lock for the Abus.

Fit

The fit of the Watchful Mistress is phenomenal, and the measurements are exactly what I ordered. My device has an inside diameter of 1-3/8 inches, a length of 2-1/4 inches, and a 3/8-inch ring to cage gap. You can order the device with a 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, or 1/2-inch gap. Since there is no good way to measure yourself for the gap, Mature Metal recommends the 3/8-inch gap for most guys. But, if that turns out too tight, or not tight enough, you can send it back for an adjustment.

There is an excellent measuring guide at Mature Metal for all aspects that worked perfectly for me.

Comfort

When worn with the Abus lock, I find the Watchful Mistress satisfyingly comfortable. It is a stainless steel device, so you feel the weight, but this is the lightest weight steel device I’ve ever worn. It has a low profile and doesn’t produce a noticeable “chastity bump” with anything I’ve worn with it. It’s perfect for long-term wear. I expect I could wear the device indefinitely with no problems.

Security

The Watchful Mistress is as secure as any well-made ball trapping device. I haven’t tried to escape from mine while locked, but it feels plenty secure to satisfy me. It certainly won’t ever fall off of its own accord as long as you’ve got a correctly sized base ring and gap.

Hygiene

Hygiene, something I won’t compromise on, is another place the Watchful Mistress truly shines. The open design makes keeping things clean a snap. Using a handle-held shower head, I’m able to give the cage contents a very thorough cleaning. The other thing is the spacing of the bars at the end of the cage means urination isn’t a problem. As long as the device is aligned correctly, I can easily stand and pee normally while wearing this device. I give the device top ratings in the hygiene category.

Recommendations

Overall, the Watchful Mistress is a quality-made, hand-crafted device that won’t disappoint. I can give it my unreserved recommendation to those looking for a quality stainless steel chastity device. It performs its intended purpose like a champ and looks good while doing it. While I’ve always liked Mature Metal’s flagship model, the Jail Bird, I think the looks of the Watchful Mistress are a little more aesthetically pleasing, and it retails for only $50 more than the Jail Bird.

In the realm of custom-made, steel chastity devices, Mature Metal is one of the most affordable options. I also like the fact that I can send my device back anytime I want any modifications done. They can adjust every aspect of the device except for the internal diameter of the cage. So, make sure you get that measurement correct before ordering.

Beyond being a very satisfied customer, I have no other affiliation with Mature Metal. I purchased the reviewed device using my own funds, and this review represents my own honest opinions.

CB-6000 Review Coming Soon

Note from Chaste: The following post has been updated with a link to the CB-6000 review.

So, CB-X has this inventory clearance sale going. I ordered a device. In the next week or so, I’ll be sharing a CB-6000 review.

My very first chastity device was a CB-6000 knock-off that some foreign manufacturer had made from stainless steel. I bought it because I liked the look and wanted a steel device. But it never worked for me since it didn’t come with the multiple spacers and base rings CB-X provides with the genuine polycarbonate article.

The thing came with only one base ring and one spacer. One of the other of my balls would pop after I wore the thing for an hour or two, then it would fall off. Being totally new to chastity devices at the time, I didn’t realize it, but the problem was the gap between the base ring and tube was too wide for me. I’ve always thought it might have worked if I’d only had the extra ring and spacer options.

Having read Thumper’s CB-6000 review, I’m not expecting much. Though I’ve never met him, I have tremendous respect for Thumper. I’ve always found his insightful blog such a valuable resource. I think he did an excellent job with pointing out the CB-6000’s significant flaws—”a hard-edged A-ring that is uncomfortable, unnecessary side vents that lead to flesh bulging through, lack of an ergonomic shape.” In Thumper’s opinion, the CB-6000 is “a relic from another era.”

I don’t doubt the accuracy of anything Thumper wrote in his review of the device. But, for a couple of reasons, I wanted to try the CB-6000 and review it. First, despite its shortcomings, the CB devices were the first popular mass-produced chastity devices. And, a lot of guys still choose the CB-6000 as their first device, though it seems The Holy Trainer has since eclipsed it in popularity as a trainer. And, frankly, I’m a curious sort of fellow who will try anything once. Getting a CB-6000 at a time when I could save thirty bucks on the genuine device seemed as good a time as any to buy one and give it a test drive.

Hopefully, the device will show up sometime this upcoming week. I’ve already worked it out with my keyholder to switch over to it for a few days to review it. So, for anyone thinking about getting a CB-6000, soon you will have another review to consider.

Until now, all but one of my reviews have been on steel chastity devices, so it seems time to do a few on the plastic ones. I’ll probably review The Holy Trainer next. After that, I have my eye on another custom-made steel device I want to try.

A269 Bird Hook Cage Device Review

Having found myself with some time this afternoon, I decided to post a review for the device I’ve been wearing the last few days, the A269 Bird Hook Cage Device.

Mostly thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the frequency of my posting here has dwindled. Other things of higher priorities have consumed my attention. Things like trying to save my retirement accounts from complete destruction, finding new sources for toilet paper, etc. I’m sure you get the drift as I’m sure anyone reading this has their own pandemic war stories to tell. To be fair, I’ve also been spending a lot of time on my writing. I have a slew of books I have to have ready for publication in the fall. So there is that, too. Now, on to the review.

Intro

Don’t get too wrapped up in the terminology here. This device it seems is available from just about everywhere on the planet that sells made in China metal chastity devices. Most suppliers have their own name and model number for it. Some have none at all. But, given its rather distinctive appearance, it’s sort of like porn. Maybe you can’t define it, but you sure as hell know it when you see it.

I’ve been wanting to take this micro-chastity device for a test drive ever since reading Thumper’s review of it on his blog, Denying Thumper. I actually ordered one way back then and have had it for months, but only got around to trying it out this past weekend.

The device is manufactured (at least the one I have) from medical grade stainless steel. The device is available either with or without a plastic urethral tube. The assembled tube has a threaded connection at one end that passes through the urination hole in the nose of the device, and the usual connection on the other end designed for insertion into the urethral opening of your Johnson.

If you want the urethral tube, make sure you read the fine print on the site where you intend to purchase the device. Many of the places I’ve looked at didn’t include it. Where it is offered, it is generally included in the price.

The Bird Hook comes with one solid steel base ring available in the three usual sizes, and an integrated brass “magic lock” with two keys.

Meet the Bird Hook

a269-bird-hook-review
A269 Bird Hook Cage Device

The Bird Hook is another standard ball-trapping device. There is a female receiver welded to the top front of the base ring that accepts the male part of the locking mechanism. Once they have been joined together, the “magic lock” slides from left to right into the channel formed by the two parts. There are also steels pins welded to the cap on either side of the locking device that gets inserted into corresponding drilled holes on the front of the base ring. The purpose of these pins is to provide the necessary gap between the base ring and cage and maybe for some extra stability when the device is locked in place.

As a review, here is the parts list for this medical grade stainless steel device:

  1. Solid stainless steel base ring.
  1. Stainless steel (shower head style) cage with a center urethral opening.
  1. Integrated brass “magic lock” with two keys.
  1. Plastic urethral tube with end fittings (Optional)

Fit

Because it is a micro-cage, to join the cage, which is like a large, cupped stainless steel button, to the base ring, it requires your flaccid penis to “turtle” up inside the body. This is something I first experienced with my Cherry Keeper cage, which works similarly. I find it quite comfortable. Since the cage (or cap as I call it) does little more than cover the head of the penis, I think it’s realistically a one-size-fits-all proposition, and most any guy could wear this device without problems.

The Bird Hook Doing It’s Thing

micro-chastity-device

Comfort

This is seriously one of the most comfortable chastity devices I have ever worn. After three days, and two nights wearing it, I hardly realize I even have it on. It is a hefty piece of steel, yet given the small footprint, you get the satisfying feel of solid steel between your legs without any feeling of heaviness. I absolutely love the low profile, which doesn’t produce a noticeable chastity bump, no matter what you’re wearing.

As you can see in the image of me wearing the device, my urethral opening is perfectly aligned with the urination hole. I don’t know if it was pure luck that happened when I put it on a few days ago or not since I’ve not removed it and put it back on. But, as a result of the alignment, I can stand up and pee like a real boy without spraying the entire toilet. I get a predictable, steady stream whenever I need to urinate. There is a beveled edge on the interior side of the cage where it slips over the head of the penis, and that seems to hold the head in place. This is the reason I believe my urethral opening has remained perfectly aligned since I put the thing on. That begs the question about the usefulness of the urethral tube.

Personally, I’m not a fan of shoving things inside my urethra. Especially in this COVID-19 era, I don’t want to chance an infection right now. Having some experience with penis plugs, I know from experience that you can do everything right and still sometimes end up with an infection. Ordinarily, it’s no big deal, but right now isn’t a great time to make an unnecessary trip to the doctor.

The thing I dislike most about the urethral tube supplied with this device is it comes in separate parts—two detachable stainless steel fittings that you press into the ends of the short length of rubber tubing, and the tubing itself. This is not something that is ever going inside my urethra. However, remote the chance, in the worst-case scenario, the insertion bit could become detached from the hose. I’ve heard a few horror stories where that exact thing happened. In all but one of those stories, an embarrassing trip to the ER was required to have it professionally removed. If I ever get the urge to use a tube with a device, I’ll stick to a solid piece of stainless steel tubing. And, as mentioned earlier, if you get things lined up correctly, the tube seems completely unnecessary.

Security

The device seems as secure as you could reasonably expect from any ball-trapping device worn without a piercing. I suspect there is a Harry Houdini or two out there who could find a way to slip it off while locked. But for most of us who put on a chastity device for its intended purpose and not as an escape attempt challenge, the Bird Hook offers ample security.

Hygiene

In my opinion, this device will likely have to be removed periodically to perform effective cleaning if it is worn for extended periods. The cage (or cap) completely encases the head of the penis, and directing water at the tiny holes in the nose won’t likely come close to allowing for effective cleaning. On the other hand, the “turtled” shaft of the penis resides inside the wearer’s body so that part of things probably won’t require frequent cleaning. I’m picky about hygiene, and regardless of what kind of device I’m wearing, I always take it off weekly for a thorough cleaning, anyway. So, I don’t consider this a shortcoming of the device or any major inconvenience.

Recommendation

For someone who enjoys or would like to experience micro-chastity, I think the Bird Hook is an excellent choice. I really love how it simply makes my Johnson disappear, leaving behind only a shiny stainless steel cap pressed tightly against my testicles. I love the sleek profile, and as mentioned, I find this device exceptionally comfortable to wear, even while jogging.

As I said at the beginning, the device is available from just about every supplier of metal chastity devices, so they aren’t challenging to find. For a made in China chastity cage, I am very impressed with the quality, and they are very inexpensive. I think I got mine from the Wish website, but prices are pretty consistent across all the sites I’ve seen. I paid $10.95 for mine several months ago. Today they range from between $12.95 to $16.95. Amazon has them for $14.95 with free expedited shipping for Prime members.

As always, this review represents my own opinions. I purchased the item reviewed from my own funds. Prices provided were accurate at the time of publication, but may have changed. I hope you find the review useful, and comments are always welcome.

Cherry Keeper Chasity Device Review

While looking for a light-weight plastic or resin chastity device to wear during my long-distance training runs, I came across the Cherry Keeper chastity device by Josielynn’s Body Jewellery. I first heard of these devices while reading posts on a male chastity web forum I follow. There were plenty of positive reviews there on the Cherry Keeper from satisfied wearers.

I followed a link to a site called Shapeways, where the Cherry Keeper devices are sold, to do more research. I was very impressed with what I found on the site, a wide selection of 3D printed chastity devices in a wide variety of bright colors made of nylon plastic with a smooth finish. With LJ’s approval, I ordered one to take a test drive.

Intro

In only a little over a week, the Cherry Keeper arrived in my mailbox. I found the design familiar, much like that of other ball-trapping devices I’ve worn, so there was no learning curve necessary.

I ordered my Cherry Keeper in blue, but as mentioned, there are lots of colors to choose from, including basic white. The device seemed well made, and the nylon material felt satisfyingly strong. Before putting it on, I assembled the cage to the ring and found the device has a consistent gap all around, which I like.

The finish on my device is referred to by the manufacturer as “Processed plastic,” which is best described as something like the exterior texture of an eggshell. The company also offers “Premium plastic,” which they say still has a slight texture, but is glossier and slipperier, meaning the skin will glide across it with less resistance.

For the most part, I found the “Processed Plastic” smooth enough. I actually liked the “grippy” feel of the texture. Concerning the ring, no doubt, the texture helps prevent any ball slippage problems. But, after wearing the device while running the first time, I found the surface of the ring rough enough to produce some mild chaffing. I’d read about that in reviews by other wearers in the chastity forums, so I knew exactly what to do. About ten minutes of sanding with 600 grit wet sandpaper made a world of difference. I didn’t sand it until completely smooth, just smoother than it came out of the box. So, I still retained some of the “grip.”

Depending on a person’s personal preference, a little sanding might be in order or a lot. I expect some people will like the grip while others will prefer smooth.

Meet the Cherry Keeper

cherry-keeper-chastity-device
Small Cherry Keeper

As stated, the Cherry Keeper is a standard ball-trapping device that comes in two parts.

1. Base ring

2. Open-style nylon cage.

The base rings are literally available in any size. If you need a size that’s different from the many standard sizes offered, you can contact the designer, JosieLynn Jewell, and she promises to fix you up with whatever size you need.

I went with an ergonomically shaped, 50mm ring, which is larger than I typically wear with steel devices. I assumed because of the lighter weight, I could get by with a larger base ring to gain a little more comfort. Turned out I was right. The 50mm ring works great for me and keeps the device right up against my body. There is a wide selection of base rings to choose from, both with regard to shape and size. Double base rings are also available.

I went with the basic small cage design, but here also, multiple styles and sizes are available. I feel safe in saying that the Cherry Keeper is available in a size to fit almost anyone.

The Cherry Keeper is sold a little differently than you may be accustomed to. Instead of ordering the device as a complete unit, you must purchase the cage and ring separately. Also, these devices do not come with locks, which must be purchased separately.

Still, once you’ve ordered a base ring, cage, and lock, you will find that the cost is very reasonable, especially when compared to custom-made chastity device prices. And, in my opinion, with all the sizing options available, the Cherry Keeper is virtually a custom device. Prices vary based on the size, color, and finish selected, but as an example of the prices, I paid $23.95 for the cage and $16.95 for the base ring. That’s around just forty bucks for a solid, well-made chastity device.

According to the designer, the Cherry Keeper was designed for and works best when using an integrated magic lock. I had a cheap one that came with another micro chastity device I already had, and that is what I used with mine when the device first arrived. But, the lock is cheap and gets a bit cranky at times, so I ordered a quality Burg Wachter ME/2 integrated magic lock from Steinlock.com for $25.00.

However, not everyone wants to lock up with an integrated magic lock. Thus, the designer also offers other multiple locking options. Add-on kits are available at an extra cost that gives the options of using a standard small padlock or an Abus padlock. There are also options available for locking up with single-use plastic locks in three different styles. For the hardcore chastity enthusiast, there is a “Permalocker” option also available for the Cherry Keeper, a lock that can only be removed by those daring enough to use a power drill in uncomfortably close proximity to their manhood.

Fit

I won’t take the time to regurgitate all the sizing options which can easily be referenced on the Cherry Keeper website. Instead, I’m only addressing fit using the measurements of the device I ordered.

My device has an inside diameter of 35 mm, a depth of 35.4mm, and a ring to cage gap of 8.0 mm. The cage length is 45.9 mm (1.81 inches), and the total assembled length is 59.7 mm. I get a comfortably tight fit inside the cage with the tip of my penis against the end of the cage, though there is a small “turtling” effect since the cage is a bit shorter than my flaccid length.

While the designer does provide some tips on measuring for a Cherry Keeper, I found using the measuring guide at Mature Metal worked great.

Comfort

Once I did the minor sanding mentioned previously, I have found the Cherry Keeper to be without a doubt, the most comfortable chastity device I have ever worn. That’s saying a lot since I’ve had the opportunity to wear quite a few different devices since I started with chastity, though all the others have been steel devices.

Once I have it locked on, I’m not even aware I’m wearing the Cherry Keeper. It’s that comfortable. In fact, if it was up to me, the Cherry Keeper would be my permanent chastity device. Unfortunately, it isn’t up to me. LJ insists on a stainless steel device for general 24/7 wear. She only allows me to wear the Cherry Keeper for running, which was the agreement we made when she allowed me to order it.

Security

Security may be the Achilles heel of the Cherry Keeper. While testing it, I found that if I pushed down on the top of the base ring with a thumb so that it was away from my body, roughly parallel to the floor, I could then use a finger of my other hand to work my flaccid penis out of the cage and the ring with only minimal effort.

Once my penis was out, it wasn’t very difficult to get my balls out of the ring and the locked device completely off. In fairness, I wasn’t able to get the device back on without unlocking it. So, without access to the key, had I been escaping to cheat, I would have been forced to confess it to my keyholder. The Cherry Keeper is the first chastity device I’ve tried that I was able to so easily escape from.

That said, male chastity is a powerful fantasy, and one of the biggest fantasies of all is the notion of finding the inescapable chastity cage. While it may sound simplistic, stereotypical, and maybe even a bit primal, the truth is the typical male is always looking for his next orgasm. That is part of the appeal many of us guys find in submitting to having our dicks locked in a chastity device and giving control of our orgasms to someone else. The fact that the male sex drive is so strong is why it is often so important that we perceive the chastity device as being impenetrable.

But, for anyone who has been in chastity for very long, we know that no device, especially, no ball-trapping device without incorporating a body piercing ring can be made impenetrable or escape-proof. Any guy who is determined enough and has little fear he will suffer an injury can inevitably find a way to escape from any chastity device. When you consider it, there is no chastity device that is one-hundred percent secure. So, we might say the Cherry Keeper provides a little less of the illusion of being escape-proof than many of the other devices I’ve tried. How much of a problem that is, depends on the individual.

As I’ve said many times on this blog, I’m not the escape and cheat type. I want to be kept in chastity, and I honor my commitment to my keyholder and to myself. When in place, the Cherry Keeper does the job when it comes to preventing me from easily touching my penis for pleasure and stops me from masturbating. That meets my expectations and requirements.

But, for a guy who can’t trust himself not to cheat, the Cherry Keeper might not be a good option. That is unless a body piercing is incorporated into the mix. Given the open design of the Cherry Keeper cage, I think that could be easily accomplished with the use of an external Prince Albert piercing ring lock. But, in the final analysis, without a piercing, the Cherry Keeper isn’t very secure on its own. That’s the opinion of a guy who has found the steel devices I’ve tried quite secure with a properly sized ring and gap.

Hygiene

Hygiene, something I won’t compromise on, is where the Cherry Keeper truly shines for two reasons. First, the open design makes keeping things clean a snap. Using a handle-held showerhead, I’m able to give the cage contents a very thorough cleaning. The other thing is the spacing of the bars at the end of the cage means urination isn’t a problem. I can easily stand and pee normally while wearing this device. I’ve even used it standing at a public urinal without any errant spraying or dripping issues. Still, the crossbars are close enough together to prevent the tip from slipping through. Thus, I give the Cherry Keeper top marks in the hygiene category.

Recommendations

Overall, the Cherry Keeper is a quality-made device that does adequately perform the function it was designed for. I just can’t give it my unreserved recommendation because of the ease of escaping from it while locked.

Still, it performs like a champ for the purpose I wanted it for, something light-weight and comfortable for long-distance running. For me, the easy escape issue isn’t a real problem since I’m only allowed to wear the device for running and am then required to switch back to my permanent, more secure stainless steel device.

I have no affiliation with Josielynn’s Body Jewellery or Shapeways. I purchased the reviewed device using my own funds, and this review represents my own honest opinions.

Watchful Mistress Chastity Device Arrived

My Watchful Mistress chastity device from Mature Metal arrived, and I’ve been wearing it for almost a week. I love it so far, but in fairness haven’t had it long enough to do a full review just yet. Still, it’s been a while since I’ve posted, so I thought I’d talk about it a little.

watchful-mistress
Watchful Mistress by Mature Metal

I’ve been busy working on Females of Vulvar, the fantasy science fiction novel I mentioned in the previous post, which is why I haven’t gotten around to posting lately. Also, I think that as I approach the second full month of being locked and denied, chastity is no longer consuming my every waking thought as it did at the beginning. Not that I find it less appealing, it has just become such a normal part of life for me. I don’t constantly think about as I once did.

I have found it super easy to forget I’m wearing a chastity device since I put on the Watchful Mistress. It fits perfectly, it’s light-weight for a stainless steel device, and I’ve found it amazingly comfortable. The craftsmanship is rather breathtaking in comparison to the lower end devices I’ve worn previously. Yes, a custom-crafted chastity device is a big investment. But, in my opinion, this thing of beauty from Mature Metal seems worth every penny.

While Mature Metal offers a security screw option for the Watchful Mistress, I opted to go with the Abus padlock option. The center pin on the base ring and the receiver on the cage are drilled precisely to achieve a tight fit with the shackle of the lock.

This takes some getting used to. You have to get all three holes (the one in the center pin and those on either side of the receiver) perfectly aligned to get the shackle inserted. If things are even a little bit off, the tip of the shackle won’t slide through the three holes.

Another thing the very precise tolerance means when going with the padlock option is you really have to go with the Abus padlock. The way the device is designed, the tight fit with the specific diameter of the Abus shackle, helps keep the cage properly aligned with the base ring.

I experimented with a couple of other padlocks I had on hand, both of which had slightly smaller diameter shackles. Both allowed the cage to twist slightly, which opened the gap between the cage and base ring on the side, which could allow for ball slippage. But, sticking with the Abus padlock, the device comes with (for a small additional charge) makes the device fit perfectly. I’ve even been able to move up to a slightly larger and more comfortable base ring with this device. That’s because it has been built with such tight tolerances.

Overall, using the Mature Metal measurement guide when I ordered the device has provided me with a permanent chastity device I’m confident I’m going to be happy with for years to come. The inside diameter is perfect, as is the base ring size I ordered.

I do wish I’d ordered the cage about a half-inch shorter. While I did my best to get accurate measurements before ordering, the cage is usually about a half-inch too long when my penis is at its flaccid smallest. Of course, there is a possibility that I’ve experienced a bit fo shrinkage since I ordered the device.

At some point, I may return the device to Mature Metal and pay them to have it shortened. That’s another advantage of going with a custom-made device. You can send it in to have anything but the diameter of the cage adjusted. You must get that right the first time.

The slight extra length isn’t a real problem other than from an aesthetic point of view. LJ likes the look of a full cage and immediately said the cage was too long when I put it on the first time.

In conclusion, I’m really happy with my new Mature Metal chastity device so far. In another week or two, look for a complete wear-tested review.

The Jailhouse Review

While I only wore The Jailhouse for a few days, I decided to go ahead with this review since I probably won’t be wearing it again. Since I am now wearing another device to compare with it, I think I am able to offer a fair review.

Intro

I ordered The Jailhouse with a 45mm (1.75 inch) base ring which turned out to be too big for me. My right nut kept slipping out of the base ring as a result. But, in spite of the problems, a few days was long enough for me to realize I didn’t like the device enough to put money into another one with a smaller base ring. At least as far as I know, it isn’t possible to buy a replacement base ring only. That to me is one of the biggest problems with low quality, inexpensive chastity devices.

Note that this review covers only the version of The Jailhouse I purchased from a company in California. After ordering it, I learned similar (if not the same) device is available from many different vendors, though it may be called something other than The Jailhouse.

Regardless, all of the devices are steel knock off versions of the CB-6000. They are all made in China, maybe by multiple manufacturers. We all know what that means when we’re talking about male chastity devices. Cheap, low quality, but maybe okay for guys only curious about trying out male chastity, or someone who only wants a device for short-term bedroom play. In other words, China makes devices useful to experiment with for those unwilling or not yet ready to make the required substantial investment in a quality, custom-made male chastity device.

Here are just a few other vendors I found that sell similar (if not the same) metal versions of the CB-6000, including Amazon, like the one I ordered.

Lock the Cock

Chasity Cages Co.

Amazon

Obviously, I should have done more research before ordering mine. It seems I could have got an identical device for half the price I paid.

Meet The Jailhouse

The Jailhouse is comprised of six parts

1. Multi-part steel base ring with an open top.
2. A half-moon piece with two outside posts attached to it. The piece goes on the back (body side) of the ring. It closes the gap at the top to make the ring a complete circle.
3. A smaller half-moon piece that goes on the front over the three front posts. It also acts as a spacer.
4. Removable center pin with a hole drilled at the front to accept a lock.
5. A small spacer (about 1/2 inch in length) that slides over the center post before you mate up the cage.
6. Full solid cage with side vent holes and urine outlet.

If you’re familiar with the CB-6000, you probably see some familiar looking parts in the above image. If you want a side-by-side comparison view of the CB-6000 and this device, there is an image you can look at in this post.

Fit

Unlike the actual CB-6000, there are no multiple fitting combinations with this steel knock off version. The only option you get is the base ring size which is offered in 40mm (1.5 inch), 45mm (1.75 inch), or 50mm (2 inch). Only one ring comes with the device, so you need to know the correct size when ordering. Beyond the base ring, what you see is what you get.

I ordered a 45mm base ring, mostly because I’d previously ordered another cheap, Chinese made device with a 40mm base ring and hadn’t been able to get the ring on. I assumed I needed the next larger size. But, once I received The Jailbird and wore it for a day it became obvious that the 45mm ring was too big for me. Another problem I noticed is since the base ring is made up of three parts there is some play in it which exacerbated the fact the ring was already too big. After wearing The Jailhouse for a second full day, things had stretched just enough that my right ball kept slipping out of the base ring. Not a good look when trying to impress your first keyholder.

The cage length is 7cm (2.76 inches) and the diameter is 35mm (1.38 inches). Having never owned an actual CB-6000, I can’t say how those measurements compare between the two devices. I am pretty sure the cage with this device is meant to imitate the shorter CB-6000 cage. I have an average size penis. No, seriously, it’s average. The length of the cage was a little more than I needed. The tip of my penis never bottomed out. The diameter seemed about right. I had to use the stocking method to draw my penis into the cage. But, once inside it didn’t feel too tight while at the same time there wasn’t much extra room. So, for guys like me with an average size dick, the cage dimensions are probably going to be acceptable.

Comfort

With a solid steel cage, this is a heavy device. It didn’t feel like a burden to wear it exactly, but it was heavier than I had expected. I ordered it because it sort of has a draconian look to it, sort of like a Spartan helmet which appeals to me. But, as soon as I put it on the first time I was already concerned it was too heavy to comfortably be locked in during my daily fitness runs.

Honestly, I think if I’d bought this device with a 40mm base ring, it would have probably mostly worked for what I had in mind. I wanted a ball-trapping male chastity device to use for a thirty-day introduction to enforced male chastity to see whether it was something I wanted long-term. I already knew if I decided I did, I’d replace it with a high-quality, custom-fitted device.

The Jailhouse was generally comfortable enough. I didn’t experience any kind of chafing issues or pinching. I did really like the feel of the base ring which is wider than the more common basic steel base rings. The edges are smooth and beveled.

Security

Obviously, no ball-trapping device without a PA ring is completely secure. If you’re determined to take it off while locked, you can find a way to do it. But, with the right size base ring I feel it is as secure as other devices of similar quality. But, as my experiences showed, if you get a base ring that is too big, your balls can pop out of it.

Hygiene

The Jailhouse has side vents and a big slot opening at the end for urination. Both of these features I expect would allow you to get plenty of clean, soapy water into it while it’s being worn. I didn’t wear it long enough to try showering with it on, so I’m only speculating here.

Since the tip of my penis didn’t reach the end, my urethral opening didn’t often line up with the slot. That meant I couldn’t pee while standing, and peeing while sitting still resulted in more of a spray effect than a stream. Even doing the best I could to clean up after peeing, after the third or fourth time I had to go while wearing it I started to smell the odor of urine on me. That’s definitely not something I like. I expect if your flaccid dick doesn’t reach near the end of the tube where the slot is, the interior gets exposed to enough urine it gets dirty no matter what you do. The odor soon follows.

Other impressions

The quality of The Jailhouse wasn’t exceptional, but I find it generally well designed and built considering it is a cheap, mass-produced, China produced knock off product. But I have a few issues with it quality-wise.

First, it was advertised as stainless steel at the site I ordered it from. If it truly is, it’s low grade, certainly not surgical grade. The exterior of mine is highly polished which makes me suspect it might be chrome plated steel, not stainless steel at all. But, I’m no metallurgical expert by any stretch.

The interior of the tube is not polished, but it’s smooth and I did not find any burrs or rough spots. Still that screams low quality.

Everything fit together as designed, but as noted there was a little play in the multi-part base ring. That happens with any assembled machined metal product without tight tolerances. Again, it shows lack of quality.

Recommendation

Even though choosing the wrong size base ring was my error, I don’t think I’d have liked The Jailhouse much even with the right size ring. I certainly won’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality male chastity device.

I’d rather have a complete base ring than one made of three parts because of the play in the one that comes with The Jailhouse. I think that is real weakness of this device. Maybe it works with plastic as with the CB-6000, but it doesn’t work well with metal.

Overall, in my opinion this device is meant more as a novelty or sex toy than for serious, long-term male chastity. On the other hand, if you’re only looking for an inexpensive option for short-term play or exploration, it’s probably about as good as any of the other China produced metal chastity devices. You can lock up your cock in it, so it serves the purpose it’s designed for. It’s reasonably secure as long as you get the right size base ring.

Note this review contains my own opinions. I have not received any form of consideration for providing it, and I purchased the reviewed device using my own funds.
