Badassworkroom BA-21 Chastity Device Review

It’s time for my promised Badassworkroom BA-21 chastity device review. This is my second stainless steel device from Badassworkroom and I found much to like about it.

After wearing the device for almost a full month, I’m ready to offer my opinions on the Badassworkroom BA-21 chastity device. I purchased my first Badassworkroom custom device, the BA-12, to satisfy my curiosity about what it felt like to wear a device with a 90-degree angled cage. It intrigued me from a purely aesthetic perspective after seeing and liking the looks of a 90-degree angled cage on another manufacturer’s website. But to my surprise, I found the device satisfyingly comfortable to wear. Also, the BA-12 gave me the chance to experience the high quality workmanship that the company puts into their custom-made steel devices. So, I felt no hesitation about ordering another custom device from them, but this time one I intended to wear regularly. And I chose the BA-21.

BA-21 Specifications

The above specifications are what I ordered based on my specific measurements. But the BA-21 is fully customizable, so you can order this device to fit your own unique measurements. I ordered mine with a “MagicLocker” integral lock, but you can also get this device with a common padlock or a proprietary locking security screw.

Components

The BA-21 is a standard ball-trap device and comes with three components:

  • Base Ring
  • Penis Cage
  • Locking Device

BA-21 Physical Details

I ordered the BA-12 in surgical stainless steel. But the device is also available in titanium for an additional cost of $100.00 for those seeking a lighter weight cage. This device, which I find quite comparable to my Mature Metal Jailbird, is marginally lighter than the Jailbird even with the integral lock, which requires they make the base ring from slightly larger diameter, heavier stock. All the welds are smooth and the device measurements are exactly what I ordered. In my opinion, the quality of workmanship is as good as you will find in the custom-made male steel chastity device industry. My device fits perfectly and the connection between the cage and base ring is tight with no play. Like the BA-12 I ordered previously, the integral lock is stainless steel instead of brass and the insert is slightly longer than the brass inserts, which means you won’t be able to switch out this MagicLocker with one of the brass ones you may have that came with some other device.

BA-21 Chastity Device Use

The BA-21 is another standard ball-trapping device. You insert your scrotum and testicles into the base ring, pull your flaccid penis through the ring to rest atop your testicles, and slide the cage on. Then you mate the two components together and lock up. The device feels quite secure, but as we know, standard ball-trapping device security is mostly an illusion unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. There are options available at an additional cost for guys with PA piercings to gain added security. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the 10mm default factory-set gap worked great for me and probably will for most guys. But the gap is customizable too.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the BA-21

The usual precautions apply as with any ball-trapping male chastity device. Choosing the proper size base ring is important. Choosing a base ring size that is too small can cause significant issues, including the risks associated with compromising your circulation. As a rule of thumb, skin discoloration or skin temperature of the scrotum that feels noticeably cooler than normal body temperature are indications of reduced circulation.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the BA-21

I find the BA-21 provides me the heft of stainless steel that I like without being uncomfortably weighty. As mentioned it weighs slightly less than my Mature Metal Jailbird. The interior of the cage feels satisfyingly smooth. It’s one of the most comfortable devices I’ve worn and required no adjustment period. It felt comfortable the first time I put it on and has remained that way. As far as standard ball-trap devices without the added security of a piercing go, it feels comfortably secure.

Hygiene Considerations When Wearing the BA-21

Thanks to the cage-type open architecture, the BA-21 gets high marks in the hygiene department. It has been simple to keep clean using my handheld shower head. I’m certain I could wear it indefinitely with no need to remove it periodically for cleaning. With four vertical and two horizontal bars on the nose of the cock cage, expect to sit to pee to avoid making a mess. I haven’t even experimented with trying to stand while urinating while wearing this device.

Final Thoughts

The Badassworkroom BA-21 is a well designed and well made device. It’s on the lighter end of the spectrum of stainless steel open-type cage devices, and super comfortable. It’s a device that deserves serious consideration by those seeking a steel cage-style device.

At $300.00 USD for the stainless steel model ($400.00 for titanium), this is outstanding quality at a reasonable and affordable price for a custom-made stainless-steel male chastity device. For comparison purposes, the Mature Metal Jailbird, a device I feel the BA-21 matches up well with, retailed at $330.00 when I published this review.

Something I and others raved about when Badassworkroom first came on the scene was the company’s unheard of fast delivery. Unfortunately, all good things come to an end and that amazingly fast delivery has ended at Badassworkroom. It took more than twice as long for me to receive this device than the first one I ordered. The owner told me it’s because they have become more well known and are getting far more orders. I suspect that China’s “zero COVID policy” with the frequent lock downs has also slowed deliveries. But of course I wouldn’t have expected the owner to confirm that for the obvious reasons and he didn’t. Still, Badassworkroom’s shipping times remain in line with most other custom chastity device manufacturers and is still better than some.

Upcoming Chastity Device Reviews

I’ve ordered two new devices, so get ready for more upcoming chastity device reviews.

Since I’m still many weeks away from receiving either of the new custom-made chastity devices I’ve recently ordered, I ordered two inexpensive devices that I’ll feature in upcoming chastity device reviews. I like to wear test and review both custom and less expensive off-the-shelf devices so that this blog covers the bases for everyone interested in exploring male chastity.

The A271 Stainless Steel Device

This isn’t a device that holds much personal appeal for me, but I’m always looking for a basic, inexpensive steel device that I might find worthy of recommending to beginners. A guy I’ve chatted with recently is having a difficult time finding a first device that works well for him. He’s already tried the Holy Trainer, but found it unsatisfactory and prefers steel, anyway. Also, he prefers something with a closed tube rather than a device with an open-style wire cage. So, I hope the A271 might fit the bill. It is mostly a closed tube with an open-style cap that should offer easier urination and cleaning.

The A271 tube or cage measures 42mm (1.65354 inches). That’s toward the shorter end of the scale for the guy I’ve spoken with who told me his average flaccid size is around 2.5 inches. But as I’ve said before, going a little shorter will never cause you problems. The inside diameter is 33mm (1.29921 inches), which is adequate for this guy’s flaccid diameter of 1.2 inches. The A271 comes with one ergonomic-shaped base ring, and the sizes available are 45mm, or 50mm. I ordered the 45mm ring since I’m wear-testing this device and that’s the closest to my ideal 43mm base ring size. The guy I’m trying to help shared he requires about a 48mm ring so would need to order the 50mm if he chose to try this device.

I got the A271, which I found available from many eBay sellers, for ten bucks, and it doesn’t get much cheaper than that. I only hope when it arrives that it really is stainless-steel, not chrome plated, which can cause rashes for some guys with sensitive skin.

Mamba Male Device

The second device I ordered is the Mamba Male Chastity device. This looks quite like the Cobra knock-off I recently reviewed, but with a shorter cage, 60mm (2.3622 inches) instead of 75mm (2.95276 inches). So, I’m hopeful it will work better than the longer Cobra cage I tried since I did order this device for personal use and for a specific purpose. 

Later this year, I’ll travel to Europe and then the Caribbean. Since I’ll be spending time on planes and passing through metal detectors, I wanted a device I could wear that hopefully would not end up putting me in a claustrophobic interview room showing my junk to a TSA officer. I heard about this device and checked it out.

Besides the compact size, this plastic device also uses a plastic “Air Lock” and standard plastic numbered lock to secure the tube to the base ring. There is no metal at all with this device. So, it significantly reduces the chances of detection while passing through security. Of course, wearing a chastity device on an aircraft is not a violation of any law or TSA rule, but I’d rather not have that awkward discussion with a complete stranger at an airport that I’ve heard other guys have had to endure.

Besides the 60mm (2.3622 inches) cage length, the Mamba device cage has an internal diameter of 30mm (1.1811 inches). That’s a little tighter than I prefer, but will work without comprising my circulation. It comes with a four-size base ring selection including a 42mm size. A supply of plastic numbered locks comes with the “Air Lock.”

The Mamba only set me back $12, so I think it’s well worth a test spin. Sure, I could fly unlocked and put my device back on after arriving at my destination, but I’d rather be locked full time. Maybe this device will provide exactly what I’m looking for.

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Device Review

My much delayed Cobra Male Chastity Lock device review

I completed the wear test of the Cobra Male Chastity Lock device weeks ago, but had difficulty generating the enthusiasm to write and post the review. The reason for that is I wasn’t much impressed with this chastity device.

Just so we’re clear, this is NOT the KINK Cobra 3D-Printed chastity device, which I haven’t tried but have seen many positive reviews for. Instead, the Cobra Male Chastity Chasity Lock is a cheap copy of the KINK3D original and not in the same class.

I purchased and tested this device, hoping it might be a less expensive alternative for guys who may not have $155 to $185 to buy the KINK3D original. This device looks like the original, and the parts fit together the same. And it is a 3D-printed device.

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Specifications

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Device Physical Details

The manufacturer made this 3D-printed device from strong, lightweight plastic. It appears quite durable. The seller included a small square of high-grit sandpaper in the box, but I didn’t need it. Instead, I found the interior of the tube and all of the four different size base rings completely smooth to touch. The base rings are the standard circular type.

One thing I like about the device is the ring assortment; a 42mm, 45mm, 48mm, and 52mm base ring. My base ring size is 43mm, and I found the 42mm worked well enough for me. Usually, I must default to the 45mm base ring size with off-the-shelf devices, which is a little too big.

The seller offers this device in five different lengths:

  • Micro (50mm)
  • Tight (60mm)
  • Snug (75mm)
  • Comfort (85mm)
  • Max (100mm)

 

I prefer cages a little shorter than the actual average length of my flaccid penis, but I purchased the “Snug” model (75mm) because I thought the size might be more applicable to guys with average size penises. So, that is the model the specs provided above apply to. Ordinarily, if I was only purchasing this device for my use, I would have purchased the “Tight” model (60mm). And I had reason after trying out the device to regret not buying the shorter model.

The manufacturer provides a brass “MagicLocker” and two keys with the device.

Cobra Male Chastity Lock Device Use

The Cobra Male Chastity Lock is a standard ball-trapping device. You insert your scrotum and testicles into the base ring, pull your flaccid penis through the ring to rest atop your testicles, and slide the cage on. Then you mate the two components together and lock up. The device feels secure, but as we know, standard ball-trapping device security is mostly illusionary unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. Unfortunately, there is no option offered for PA wearers. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the standard factory-set gap worked great for me and probably will for ninety percent of the other guys.

The 37mm (1.45669 inches) inside diameter of the penis tube will also work for most men with average size penises. But it might not work for guys with larger peens. However, the variety of penis cage lengths available (50mm to 100mm) means finding a length that works wouldn’t be a problem for most.

There is one quirk to the design of the penis cages I haven’t seen before. The cage is wider than it is in height. So when you hold it out upright in front of your eye, the inside looks like an oval instead of a circle. I don’t know if the original KINK3D design is the same since I haven’t tried one, but at least in the images on the website, the KINK3D cages seem round, not oval-shaped.

The oval shape produced an interesting issue for me, which made me dissatisfied with this device. As all penis owners know, the penis naturally expands and contracts both in length and girth due to external factors, such as temperature. For example, cold weather can make a flaccid penis smaller temporarily. This happens automatically and is controlled by the central nervous system. When I woke after the first night I slept wearing this device, I noticed that my flaccid penis had withdrawn and “stuck” in the upper half of the cage. The cage wasn’t excessively tight, but the oval shape of the cage is why this occurred. I assume I had an attempted erection during the night, and my penis expanded. Then when it contracted, it stuck in the upper end of the cage and couldn’t, in a flaccid state, lengthen. It was actually turtled inside the cage. Using a Q-tip, I eliminated the entrapment and my penis expanded to fill the cage once again. But soon I learned, this would happen again and again over the course of the two weeks I wear tested this device.

I can only imagine the designer of this device thought “smushing” the cage into an oval shape might keep the penis properly positioned, but failed to take into account it would also result in the issue I experienced.

As the image illustrates, my flaccid penis (the usual average length) fills the cage to the tip. Except after a workout or cold weather, my average length when flaccid isn’t much different that the photo shows. So, there is no good reason for it to get stuck and turtled in the upper half of a penis cage. I’ve never had this happen with any other device.

I found this annoying enough that I won’t use this device again. But others might find enough to like about it that they could live with the issue I’ve described. And the device does have some positive features. It seems well-made and durable, is light weight, fits together tightly, and it’s inexpensive.

Wearing a base ring that interferes with circulation is asking for a serious medical issue. When wearing a male chastity device, you should always be able to insert a fingertip between the base ring and your skin. If you can’t, the ring is too small and may impair circulation.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the Cobra Male Chastity Lock

The Cobra Male Chastity Lock device is very comfortable to wear, and very light weight. Even when my flaccid peen got stuck in the top of the cage after normal contractions it never felt uncomfortable. I just didn’t care for the aesthetics or the time I had to spend manipulating my penis back into the proper position again and again. Comfort and quality are probably the two greatest strengths.

Hygiene Concerns When Wearing the Cobra Male Chasity Lock

Ease of maintaining good hygiene is another area where this device gets high marks. Because of the open design, I found it as easy to keep clean as any of my steel cock cages. And when I removed it the first time for a weekly deep cleaning, I didn’t detect the unpleasant odors I’ve come to expect from resin and plastic cages.

Final Thoughts

One final word on security. This device is secure in the sense it won’t fall off on its own if properly sized. But like most of the resin and plastic devices I’ve tried, I found it quite easy to escape this locked device. By pushing the top of the base ring away from the abdomen, the oval shape of the cage makes it easy to finger your soft penis out of the cage and base ring and then you can easily free your testicles. But I found it impossible to get it back on without unlocking it, which defeats the purpose of escaping if you’re under the watchful eye of a keyholder. And if you aren’t, you could simply unlock it whenever you wished to free yourself.

This isn’t the worst chastity chastity device I’ve ever tried. Because of the fit, comfort, and light weight, I could imagine wearing this device to go for a run or to the gym. But I don’t it like well enough to wear for any extended period of time. The penis sticking issue I mentioned was annoying enough to put me off it. So, I wouldn’t be tempted to buy another of these devices. And since I’m not overly pleased with the device, I wouldn’t recommend it to others. Still, as the comparison below shows, it has more positives than negatives. And if you only want to spend a little on a chastity device, you could certainly do worse than the Cobra Male Chastity Lock. I bought mine right after I first started seeing them on eBay and paid a little more, but I noticed recently they are available from numerous eBay sellers for between $9.99 and $16.99.

BA-12 Custom-Made Stainless Steel Chastity Device Review

The BA-12 stainless steel chastity device from badassworkroom is bad ass.

After a thirty-day wear test of the BA-12 stainless steel chastity device from badassworkroom, I came away impressed with both the device and basassworkroom’s quality workmanship. After discovering the Red Chili Sissy Cage with its dramatic ninety-degree curve, I was dying to try one. But, after trying to order one three times and learning the company wasn’t taking orders because of their backlog, I gave up. Then I learned badassworkroom manufacturers a reasonable substitute in the BA-12.

No, the design isn’t as artistic as the Red Chili device. No surprise there as Red Chili alone stands at the pinnacle of the “chastity devices as art” niche. But when the BA-12 hit my mailbox, it immediately impressed me. Not only did the BA-12 mimic the dramatic downward angle I love so much about the Red Chili Sissy Cage, it is one beautiful, well-made chastity device.

While badassworkroom is a Chinese company, I’ve never seen this level of quality workmanship in a made in China chastity device. But, of course, badassworkroom is a maker of custom-made devices, not the one-size-fits-all mass-produced devices you find on Amazon, eBay, and other discount retailers. And the BA-12 is every bit as good as any custom-made device I own.

The image above reflects the specs of the BA-12 I ordered and the dimensions correspond with my personal measurements. And I’m happy to say, the device fits me like a glove. Of course, should you be interested in ordering one, badassworkroom can tailor all three dimensions to your specific needs. So you provide measurements for the chastity cage overall length, penis tube inner diameter, and base ring inner diameter when ordering to ensure the perfect fit.

The only measurement you must pay particular attention to is the chastity cage’s overall length. Since I have an average size peen, I planned to order a slightly shorter cage. But before placing the order, I chatted with a representative at badassworkroom and learned a thing or two about cages with a ninety-degree curve.

As he explained, if you want the full ninety-degree angle, there isn’t much flexibility in overall length. If you go too short on the length, they can’t build you a cage that has exactly a ninety-degree angle. That’s not something the manufacturer can control since it’s purely the product of a complicated mathematical formula. There is a minimum length required in order for them to fabricate a cage with a true right angle. So if you order a cage length shorter than the minimum, then the angle will be less than a full ninety degrees.

The rep calculated several length options for me, based on the cage length I had intended ordering and we agreed 82mm was as short as we could go and still get close to the right angle I wanted. That was acceptable since I’d planned to order a cage length of 80mm, anyway. And at 82mm, only 2mm longer, the company could deliver me a cage that has about an eighty-eight degree curve. So, as far as the look and feel, you can’t tell it isn’t a true right angle.

BA-12 Stainless Steel Chastity Device Physical Details

The manufacturer builds the device from Grade 316L surgical stainless steel. They buff the surface before shipping and the appearance of the BA-12 compares most favorably to that of the stainless steel devices I’ve ordered from other custom chastity device custom manufacturers.

The base ring is the standard circular type, though the stock they used to fabricate the base ring isn’t quite as thick as that used for most made in China devices. That is a plus since it reduces overall weight slightly and provides a comfortable fit.

The “MagicLock” supplied with the BA-12, that they refer to as a “stealth lock,” is unique. It’s different from those usually supplied with chastity devices. First, instead of brass, the lock is manufactured from the same stainless steel as the device. I don’t know if badassworkroom builds the locks or sources them elsewhere since I didn’t think to ask. Also, the lock is slightly longer than the “MagicLock” you usually see. So you can’t substitute an ordinary brass “MagicLock” you got with some other device for the one supplied with the BA-12 because it will be too short and won’t work.

The supplied stealth lock works smoothly and since it’s stainless steel, it has the similar anti-corrosion properties as a brass lock. The downside is if you ever need a replacement, you’ll have to go back to badassworkroom to source a new one. Or, when ordering a BA-12, you can opt for one of the other lock alternatives. Besides the concealed “MagicLock” I ordered, the company also offers a padlock, proprietary security screw, or either of those, plus a “permanent lock” option. If you chose that option, you will have to destroy the device to remove it if you ever decide you don’t wish to wear it permanently after all.

BA-12 Stainless Steel Chastity Device Use

The BA-12 is a standard ball-trapping device. You insert your testicles and scrotum into the base ring, slide the penis cage on, mate the two components, and lock up. The BA-12 feels very secure, but by now I’m sure you’ve already heard my standard ball-trapping device disclaimer. Complete security with any of these devices is only illusionary unless you combine a PA piercing with the device to eliminate the possibility of escape. That brings me to the next point.

Like similarly designed open-cage type chastity devices, there is no option offered for PA wearers. I’ve known pierced guys who had come up with some ingenious do-it-yourself ways to incorporate their PA for added security. But the fact remains, this device isn’t designed with any PA option in mind. Still, with the appropriate degree of suspension of belief, I rate the BA-12 as secure as any other stainless steel device I’ve tried. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the standard factory set gap works great for me and probably will for ninety percent of the other guys out there.

Oh my God, I love, love, love the look and feel of this ninety-degree device. It’s everything I had imagined when I first set my heart on getting a right angle cage. Here are a two images of the device doing its thing, one a side view where you can see the dramatic downward curve.

The device is very comfortable to wear, which might seem counterintuitive since it puts your peen at such a dramatic downward angle. But I haven’t found it feels any different from any other device I’ve worn as far as comfort goes. And my flaccid peen stays in the proper position. It doesn’t, for example, get stuck higher in the cage when it contracts. Once it expands again, the tip returns right back to the bottom of the cage. I’m more than satisfied with my purchase and feel the device is worth every penny.

Hygiene Concerns When Wearing the BA-12

Hygiene concerns when wearing the BA-12? There are none. The open-style design makes keeping the cage and contents clean a snap with a handheld shower head. It isn’t necessary to remove the device for cleaning unless you wish to do so. I wore it for thirty straight days, noticing no unpleasant odors or any skin issues the day I removed it. Ease in maintaining good hygiene is why I prefer open-style cage devices over those that have closed tubes.

Because of the right angle, I didn’t even experiment with trying to urinate while standing. To avoid the chance of a mess, I sat on the toilet to do my business with this device.

Final Thoughts

I can’t say enough about the quality of the workmanship badassworkroom puts into its devices. The quality is every bit as good as that of the two Mature Metal devices I currently own. The company has many interesting designs and I know already this will not be my last chastity device purchase from badassworkroom. Also, their customer service is second to none. I received several emails with updates on my order, and I received the device within three weeks’ time, even though the national Chinese New Year celebration when all businesses in the country shut down for the holiday took place while the company was filling my order.

I paid $230 for my BA-12, but noticed the price has since increased to $250. But even with the increase, compare that with the base cost of a Mature Metal Bird, currently $330 at the time I published this review, and I think you’ll agree that’s quite reasonable for a custom-fitted, high-quality chastity device.

This book, a quick start guide to male chastity training, will be a helpful resource both for guys who want to try male chastity and for inexperienced first-time keyholders looking to learn how to safely and effectively supervise their man’s chastity.

Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device Review

The Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device, a made in China imitation of Rigid Chastity’s Modular Chastity Device – model 01, may perform about as well as the original at a fraction of the cost.

After a fifteen-day wear test of the Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device, I came away impressed with both the quality and fit. It also looks darn close to the genuine article. It isn’t custom-fitted like the device Rigid offers for $315. The overall quality isn’t quite up to Rigid’s standards and the finish isn’t nearly as shiny. But a guy with a PA piercing looking for a comfortable, inexpensive device, could do a lot worse than the Bridge-01.

The inside diameter of the spacer ring that the PA s-hook is attached to is 35mm (1.37795 inches), the same as the cage opening. The diameter of the s-hook is your choice of 6mm or 8mm. That’s the only sizing option offered besides your choice of base ring size – 40mm, 45mm, or 50mm. The overall length of the device measured from the back of of the base ring to the tip of the nose is 63mm ( 2.48031 inches). This device should work for most men with average size penises.

Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device Physical Details

The Bridge-01 manufacturer claims they fabricate the device from Grade 316L stainless steel, considered surgical or medical-grade stainless that is resistant to general corrosion and pitting. And it does look like 316L stainless to me. When I received it, the fabricator had buffed the device to a shiny luster, but nowhere near the bright luster depicted in the images on the eBay sales page. That makes me believe those images are actual Rigid devices scraped from the Rigid Chastity website. Still the luster is brighter than the usual dull nickel finishes I’ve seen on other made in China stainless steel devices.

Rigid refers to their Model 01, the model the Bridge-01 imitates, as a “modular chastity device” because it includes the s-hook component used to secure a PA piercing ring for better security. The Rigid custom-made device can be ordered without the PA attachment component, but that isn’t an option with the Bridge-01. I didn’t find that presented any problems even though I don’t have a PA piercing and didn’t need the component. Because of the design of the device, the PA attachment component must be used whether needed or not because otherwise the cage and base ring cannot be mated together.

The base ring is the standard circular type, though the stock used to fabricate the base ring isn’t quite as thick as that used for most made in China devices. That is a plus for me since it reduces overall weight slightly. The eBay seller offers the device with three choices of base ring inside diameters—40mm, 45mm, or 50mm. My exact base ring size, the size I order with custom-made devices is 42mm, so I chose the 45mm ring and it worked well enough.

Bridge-01 Stainless Steel Male PA Lock Chastity Device Use

The Bridge-01, like the Rigid device it imitates, is a standard ball-trapping device with the addition of a PA piercing accommodation. The wearer first inserts his scrotum and testicles into the base ring. It’s then easiest, at least for guys without a piercing, to mate the PA component to the cage and then to slide the two components over the flaccid penis as a single unit. That’s because first mating the PA component to the base ring and then trying to put the cage on makes it more difficult to line up the s-hook. By design, the tip of the hook passes all the way through the cage and slightly out the hole drilled in the center of the cage cap. Once the wearer’s flaccid penis is inside the cage, he mates the the two primary components together and then secures the device with the provided MagicLocker that comes with two keys.

Even without a PA, I found the device felt secure. But as with all ball-trapping devices, I’m sure someone motivated to escape the locked device could find a way out of it. Still, I rate it as secure as any other stainless steel device I’ve tried. I had no ball slippage issues with the device, which means the gap worked for me.

I think guys with a PA piercing locked in this device would find it extremely difficult to escape from. There seems no easy way to access and disconnect a PA ring from the s-hook once the device is locked on.

Precautions to Consider While Wearing the Bridge-01

As with any ball-trapping male chastity device, choosing the proper size base ring is important. The worst that can happen if you choose a ring that’s too large is the locked device might come off or be too easily escaped. However, choosing a ring that is too small can cause significant problems, including compromising your circulation. As a rule of thumb, skin discoloration or skin temperature of the scrotum that feels cooler than normal body temperature are indications of reduced circulation. Wearing a base ring that interferes with circulation is asking for a serious medical issue. When wearing a male chastity device, you should always be able to insert a fingertip between the base ring and your skin. If you can’t, the ring is too small.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the Bridge-01

After wearing the Bridge-01 for fifteen days, I felt pleased with the fit and how comfortable it is. It’s a little heavier than my other stainless steel devices, which is understandable since it has the extra PA component. But the weight isn’t onerous. It feels solid and secure, even though I don’t have a PA. The PA attachment and s-hook weren’t a factor in my experience. I was barely aware the hook was there.

I like the looks of this device when wearing it, and it satisfied my curiosity about whether a modular chastity device works for those of us who don’t have a PA.

The Bridge-01 isn’t exactly stealthy since there is only a slight downward curve from the base ring to the cage tip. So, it does produce a noticeable bump. This isn’t something I’m self-conscious about and I had no problem with wearing it out and about.

The device is about one half-inch longer than I need, but the internal diameter is just about perfect.

Hygiene Concerns When Wearing the Bridge-01

The open-style of the Bridge-01 makes it a snap to keep the inside of the cage and the contents clean with a handheld shower head. It isn’t necessary to remove it unless you wish to do so. I wore it for fifteen straight days without noticing any unpleasant odors the day I removed it. Ease in maintaining good hygiene is why I prefer open-style cage devices over those that have closed tubes.

Because of the drilled-cap design of the nose, I didn’t even bother trying to urinate while standing. I have other devices with a similar type nose design and I know trying to pee while standing when wearing a device with that design invariably results in huge mess. So, my recommendation is to sit on the toilet to do your business with this one. The s-hook protruding slightly through the center hole in the nose means there is no way you can line your urethral opening with a urine outlet.

Final Thoughts

I will say that this is probably the highest quality made in China knock-off I’ve worn. No, the quality is not on par with Rigid’s original, but it is still very good. The manufacturer did a good job copying the Rigid design. While I haven’t tried Rigid’s device, I think this device probably performs just as well as the original. I paid the eBay seller (alpskimini) I bought the device from $34, and received free shipping. That’s a $280 savings over the Rigid original, although this less expensive imitation isn’t custom-made. I did a quick search on eBay and found there are several sellers offering this device at prices ranging from $34 to $42. The search term “pa-6mm chastity device” will show results for most of the sellers. The devices look identical so I assume they are all made by the same manufacturer.

Anyone considering buying the Rigid Chastity Model 01, especially those looking for a device with a PA attachment, would probably find this to be a great bargain alternative that performs just as well.

I have an average size penis that I expect hits right about the center of the bell curve and that is a little on the chubby side when flaccid. The Bridge-01 fits me almost perfectly. But the internal diameter of the cage and the length might not work for guys who are on the larger end of the scale. Like all mass-produced chastity devices, it’s obvious this one is aimed at average-size penis owners.

Based on my travels around the web this past year, it seems that micro chastity may very well be the most popular segment of the male chastity device market. There are lots of models available in almost any material you might imagine. I own several micro chastity devices myself, including the Holy Trainer Nub V4 version, which is the focus of today’s male chastity device review. I’ve actually had this device since late March 2021 and finally made the time to wear test and review it. So, if you haven’t had the chance to try the Nub, here is your chance to see what all this device offers.

Holy Trainer Nub V4 Chastity Device Physical Details

Holy Trainer manufacturers the Nub V4 model from a bio-based resin that the company claims is one hundred percent natural and resistant to all detergents and solvents. The ergonomic design aims to offer wearers a device that provides both security and comfortable long-term wear. As shown in the specifications above, with five distinct ring sizes available, all Holy Trainer male chastity devices, including the Nub, suit the unique morphologies of most chastity device wearers right off the shelf. The rings are wide and designed to fit the male anatomy perfectly. If you purchase an original Nub directly from Holy Trainer, the device comes with only one ring, so you must select the proper size. You can find Holy Trainer’s sizing guide here. Like all Holy Trainer male chastity device models, they offer the Nub in three standard colors—black, pink and clear. For an additional charge of $20 USD, Holy Trainer offers all their models in over forty-five custom colors. Choosing a custom color adds twelve days of manufacturing time before Holy Trainer ships the device. The company also offers some additional customization options here, including an accommodation for those with a PA piercing.

Holy Trainer Nub V4 Chastity Device Use

The Holy Trainer Nub V4, like all the company’s device models, is a standard ball-trapping device. The wearer first inserts his scrotum and testicles into the ring and once he has positioned the receiver at the top above the base of the penis, he slides the tube into the channel to mate the two primary components together and then secures the device with the provided MagicLocker that comes with two keys. It’s a simple, innovative design that works effectively. I also own a Nano model, which I find secure. If anything, the Nub’s shorter tube (only one-inch), makes it even more secure. I think it would be extremely difficult if not impossible to remove the penis from the backside of the cage. At least I wasn’t able to accomplish it using a reasonable amount of effort. So, like the Nano, the Nub seems a reasonably secure device. I had no ball slippage issues with either Holy Trainer device. But, as always, I’ll give my standard disclaimer here. No ball-trapping male chastity device (without a PA piercing) is one-hundred percent secure. Someone motivated enough to escape one usually does.

Precautions to Be Taken While Wearing the Nub V4 Male Chastity Device

As with any ball-trapping male chastity device, choosing the proper size base ring is important. The worst that can happen if you choose a ring that’s too large is the locked device might come off or be too easily escaped. However, choosing a ring that is too small can cause significant problems, including compromising your circulation. As a rule of thumb, skin discoloration or skin temperature of the scrotum that feels cooler than normal body temperature are indications of reduced circulation. I don’t know how many images I’ve seen of men wearing chastity devices where their scrotums have turned dark blue or even purple. That’s no bueno. Wearing a base ring that interferes with circulation is asking for a serious medical issue. When you first put on a chastity device, your skin may turn a little red from the manipulation, but it should soon return to the normal color and your scrotum should never feel cold to the touch. When wearing a male chastity device, you should always be able to insert a fingertip between the base ring and your skin. If you can’t, the ring is too small. Also, if you are unaccustomed to wearing a chastity device, it’s a good practice to apply a little personal lubricant between the inner ring and your skin to avoid chaffing and tender spots that can make it uncomfortable to continue wearing the device.

Comfort and Feel of Wearing the Nub Male Chastity Device

Do I like the Nub? That’s really what most people want to know when they read a review. So, I won’t leave you in suspense. The Holy Trainer Nub V4 model is one of the most comfortable male chastity devices I’ve ever worn. It fits me like a glove. It’s so comfortable and light-weight, I forgot I was even wearing it in only a few minutes. Since I’ve been wearing chastity devices for a while, I know a two-inch base ring usually fits me best. So, I chose the 50 mm ring (1.95 inch) and it fit perfectly.

I also found the Nub aesthetically pleasing once I had locked it on and looked at it in a mirror. My penis disappeared completely, and all I had between my legs was tightly captured testicles and a piece of pink plastic. That makes the Nub supremely stealthy. Wearing only a pair of briefs, I had no chastity bump showing at all. Because it is so small, light-weight, and comfortable, the Nub is now my go-to chastity device for running and other exercise activities.

Hygiene Concerns When Wearing the Holy Trainer Nub

I always feel compelled to try urinating while standing when trying out a new male chastity device, even the micro chastity models. The Nub has a generously sized urination outlet, and I was careful to center my urethral opening with the urination outlet while putting on the device. But the design of the device means your urethral opening in pointed straight ahead. It might work okay with a urinal since the stream was unobstructed, but it didn’t work so well with a toilet. So, my advice is just sit to do your business the way it works best with other micro chastity devices.

Since the one-inch tube forces the penis to turtle back into the body, the one drawback with the Nub is it isn’t possible really to keep things as clean as you would like. The urination outlet is about the only place to introduce water and soap into the interior of the device. Since I’m something of a clean freak, I prefer to remove the device once a week for showering and cleaning the Nub itself properly. That isn’t a knock on the device, since every micro chastity device I’ve ever tried requires the same. The steel devices I generally wear are open type cages that make it snap to keep everything clean using my handheld shower head, and I rarely remove them for cleaning.

A Word About Nub Knockoffs

Since all the Holy Trainer models are so popular among male chastity enthusiasts, knockoffs abound all over the internet. There is even a steel model I saw available. I bought an authentic Nub that I wear tested for this review from the manufacturer. So, I have no knowledge or experience with the knockoff versions. I know they are considerably cheaper to buy and often come with up to four different size base rings. The one issue I’ve read on the internet about the knockoffs, and I’ve read it several places from different reviewers, is that at least some knockoffs have sharp edges on the receiver attached to the base ring that will actually cut your skin. Other than that, the usual considerations apply when buying a cheap copy. First, the material used by those making copies of the nub probably won’t be the all natural bio-resin that Holy Trainer uses. Next, the quality isn’t likely comparable. Finally, my device came with an authentic MagicLocker. Cheaper quality copies of the locking device will be supplied with knockoffs. I’ve had a few problems with those in the past and prefer the original MagicLocker. The $165 USD price Holy Trainer charges seemed reasonable to me, and I found it worth paying that price for the real deal. But I understand the temptation to grab a copy that may perform similarly for over a hundred dollars less.

Holy Trainer Nub V4 Final Thoughts

All in all, the Holy Trainer Nub is one impressive male chastity device. I really like the way things look when I have it locked on, and it has felt super comfortable from the first time I put it on. The one-inch tube, most of which slips inside the base ring, makes it impossible to cheat by accessing and stimulating the penis shaft. And as far as ball-trapping devices go, I find it quite secure. The available add-on for those with a PA piercing would make it even more secure. Having done several daily runs wearing the nub, I’ve retired the light-weight, 3D printed cage I was using for exercise before and will wear the Nub for running and other exercising from now on. If I wasn’t so sold on steel devices, I could easily imagine making the Nub my every day device.

After wearing the Holy Trainer Nano V4 male chastity device for four days, I’m ready to render my verdict.

I’ve been eager to test and review the Holy Trainer Nano ever since I read Thumper’s review of the Nano V3 some time ago. He has declared, in his opinion, the Holy Trainer is the best off the shelf device available for guys first trying male chastity.

Also, since I’ve seen around the web how often the Holy Trainer and CB-6000 are touted as the best first devices for guys new to chastity, I was curious to see how the Holy Trainer stacked up against the CB-6000S, which I’ve already wear-tested and reviewed.

First Impressions

When the Holy Trainer Nano V4 arrived in my mailbox, I was impressed with it right out of the box. Unlike the CB-6000 with all its variable spacers and posts, the Holy Trainer device comes in only three pieces—the base ring, tube, and MagicLocker. Immediately I saw that the Nano was more ergonomic and futuristic looking than the CB-6000. The material the device is manufactured from is of great quality and has a nice smooth finish.

The Nano is the first Holy Trainer chastity device I’ve tried, but you can find images of the earlier models on the web, from the V1 through the V3. In comparison to the previous models, the V4 appears more sleek and ergonomic. It is evident that with each new iteration, Holy Trainer continues to find ways to make slight improvements to their basic design.

The V4 ring is wider and flatter than that of previous models, and the ergonomic design prevents it from sliding around. I haven’t liked the wider base rings I’ve tried before, like those that come with the CB-6000, but I loved the feel and fit of the Nano V4 ring as soon as I put it on.

Here are the specifications of the Nano I ordered.

Ring Size Options

I ordered my device with the 50mm (1.95 in.) base ring. Having the “high and tight” type scrotum, I find a 2-inch ring works best for me with most of the devices I’ve tried. I can get into smaller rings, but they tend to be uncomfortable. But for guys who need a different size, Holy Trainer offers five different base ring size options.

  • 36mm (1.41 inches)
  • 40mm (1.55 inches)
  • 45mm (1.75 inches)
  • 50mm (1.95 inches)
  • 55mm (2.14 inches)

 

Color Options

Besides black, which I ordered, the Nano standard color options include clear and “baby pink.” For an extra $20 charge, you can select from forty-two other custom colors.

How comfortable is the Nano?

With the possible exception of the Cherry Keeper chastity device I own, without a doubt, the Holy Trainer Nano V4 is the most comfortable chastity device I’ve ever worn. The device is feather-light in weight, but it feels solid and well made.

I believe the ring design is the biggest reason the device feels so comfortable. It is wider at the top and narrows toward the bottom. The ring is designed to be more compatible with men’s bodies and is wider and narrower at the right places, instead of being a perfect circle. The ergonomic design fit my scrotum perfectly.

The inside of the ring is extremely smooth and polished. I didn’t even have a hint of friction chafing from the moment I first put it on. As a precaution, I did apply a little lubricant inside the base ring when I first put it on, as I do with all new devices. But since I never had reason to reapply it, I’m confident it wasn’t needed.

The internal diameter of the Nano at 1.3 inches fit my penis flawlessly. The tube felt snug without being overly tight. The length at 1.41 inches was a little short for my average-sized penis and caused a slight turtling effect, but I found that comfortable and liked how the tip of my penis reached the end of the tube.

Frankly, I believe even a guy who has never worn a chastity device before could put on a Holy Trainer chastity device and wear it right out of the box for an extended time without any significant issues.

How Discrete is the Nano?

Once I tried it on for the first time, I found the Holy Trainer Nano left no real chastity bump footprint at all under jeans or athletic shorts. The small size and downward sloping attitude of the tube make it virtually unnoticeable.

Is the Nano Inescapable?

Here’s the deal. I’m very realistic when it comes to the inevitable escapability question concerning chastity devices. If you try hard enough, you can escape from any ball-trapping chastity device worn without a body piercing. The real question is how secure it is and how hard it would be to remove without unlocking. My answer is very. Of all the ball trapping cages I’ve tried, this one is up there with the best of them. There is only a small gap between the tube and ring.

The way the opening of the tube slides beneath the ring when the two parts are mated together makes it quite difficult to withdraw your flaccid penis from the tube when the device is locked.

I’ve found it easy to push the base ring away from my body a little and use my fingers to pull my soft peen out of the tube or cage with other devices. I attempted this with the Nano and was unable to do it. The chances of pulling out of this chastity device are slim unless you are determined to remove it.

I’d recommend going with the smallest base ring that feels comfortable for you for the best security. Selecting a ring size that’s too big with any device always affords the biggest opportunity to escape.

How Hygienic is the Nano?

By its nature, as an enclosed tube device, it is very difficult to keep your penis properly cleaned while you wear the Nano. The urination opening at the end of the tube is the only real option for getting soap and water inside the tube.

Hygiene is very important to me. If I were going to wear the Holy Trainer Nano for an extended period, I’d remove it at least every four or five days to do a proper cleaning. That’s why for extended periods of chastity, I prefer open cage-type chastity devices that allow me to keep clean using only my handheld shower head.

Urination

Holy Trainer device tubes offer a generously sized urination outlet. That made me hopeful I might be able to pee normally while standing. The first couple of times I tried it, it worked like a champ. But flaccid penises are always in a constant state of flux, expanding and contracting.

At one point, when mine contracted and had pulled back a little from the end of the tube when I urinated, the stream caught the edge of the inside of the tube just enough to make a real splash mess. So, as with most chastity devices, expect to sit while peeing if you wish to err on the side of caution.

The point here is that the Nano, like most devices, will retain some urine dribbles inside. That will necessitate proper and regular cleaning beyond the shower if you don’t want to walk around smelling of stale pee.

As far as keeping the Nano clean, the design and materials used make it easy to clean when you’re not wearing it. To wash it, you can use soap under the tap or put the chastity device in the dishwasher. According to the manufacturer, the bio-resin material is very strong and will withstand exposure to alcohol or any other solvent.

Conclusion and Recommendation

The Holy Trainer Nano V4 is super comfortable to wear, lightweight but robust, and should last a long time. The size should fit most guys with average-sized penises well. If you need something longer, you always have the option of going to one of the other Holy Trainer models—the Small (1.73 inches), the Standard (2.14 inches), or the Maxi (2.75 inches). If you want to go smaller, there is the micro-chastity Nub (1 inch), which I’m even more eager to try now.

The ergonomic base ring is comfortable and sits well against my body. The device feels solid and secure despite the welcome light weight. I slept comfortably wearing the Nano from the first night. According to Holy Trainer, the tube is designed to discourage nighttime erections. It isn’t something I have a problem with anyway, but I didn’t awake with any nocturnal erections while wearing the device.

But for those who want to be careful and want only the best quality stuff to contain the most sensitive part of their anatomies, I think the Holy Trainer devices represent a good value for the money.

You can buy the Holy Trainer tubes ($96) and rings ($48) separately if you don’t want to buy the set at $165. That’s great because you don’t have to buy a whole new device if something happened to the tube or you find you need a ring of a different size. Also, like me, if you plan to try a different Holy Trainer device, you can just buy a different tube for $96 instead of a new complete device. That’s how I’ll acquire my Holy Trainer Nub for review. Replacement MagicLockers are also available from Holy Trainer for $23. These are quality locks, unlike the knockoffs you get with cheaper chastity devices. The keys are stamped with HT, but the lock looks and feels like a Burg Wachter.

As a final note on Holy Trainer components, while you can interchange V4 rings and tubes, if you have one of the earlier Holy Trainer models, those parts will NOT work with the V4.

Recommendation

The Nano is a durable, good-looking device that shouldn’t cause most guys any trouble at all, even those entirely new to wearing chastity devices. If I weren’t so sold on the look and feel of stainless steel devices, I could easily make the Holy Trainer Nano my regular device without a second thought.

I find I must agree with the Holy Trainer claim that they may have designed the CB killer. Sold at a comparable price to the CB-6000, the Holy Trainer chastity devices passes all the tests.

After wear-testing both devices, I recommend the Holy Trainer over the CB-6000 hands down to any guy looking to dip a toe into male chastity for the first time. Light and very discrete compared to many stainless steel devices, the Holy Trainer Nano provides superior comfort while offering the same level of security and the impossibility of stimulating the penis.

The past few days, I’ve been working on the website and tidying things up. I noticed that Chastity Devices I Like and Why is one of the most popular posts. The problem is, when I wrote that post last December, I was still relatively new to male chastity and chose those devices mostly because they appealed to me aesthetically.

A year later, I have yet to try two of the devices I featured in the post, the Jail Bird by Mature Metal and the Holy Trainer Nub (V4 version). So, I intend to correct that in 2020.

I’ll buy both of those devices to wear-test and review during the coming year. Also, I will buy and review the Red Chili Sissy Cage I mentioned in this recent previous post, and lastly, I’ll be buying and reviewing a cage I’ve had my eye on for a while, the Male Chastity Now you coulda been a Contender.

Still Awaiting the Holy Trainer Nano

The Holy Trainer Nano I ordered for a wear review has still not arrived, a week after placing the order. I hope to see it hit my mailbox sometime in the next few days.

I had planned to remain unlocked until the Nano arrived. Then after giving it a proper wear test, I intended to move right into my trial of Mistress Sabine St. Jack’s keyholding service. But I’ve been unlocked for nine days now, and I’m ready to get back into a cage.

I’ll be locking up in my trusty Amicus sometime after midnight, once No Nut November ends, and the calendar rolls over to December 1 and after I’ve savored my much-anticipated release.

Male Chastity Now Amicus Review

My Male Chastity Now Amicus Review

Having worn my device for a full month, I’m ready to post my Male Chastity Now Amicus review.

Though it is billed as a semi-custom device because it is not fully customizable, the Amicus has become my favorite chastity device.

If you read the post, I’m Back In The Chastity Saddle Again, then you know I created a small problem for myself when starting with the Amicus because I decided to try an oval 1-5/8 inch base ring. It didn’t work at all. I got by for a few days using a base ring from my Mature Metal device, but Mark at MCN came through like a champ by delivering a round 1-7/8 inch base ring just four days after I ordered it. So, I’ve worn the device with the correct-sized ring now for most of the past thirty days.

Introduction

The MCN Amicus is a semi-custom cage since it is not “fully” customizable. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t lots of options available.

You can get the base ring with a specific ID (1-5/8 – 2-1/4), a customized ring-to-cage gap (1/4, 3/8, or 1/2), and, there are three different cage lengths to choose from that will accommodate flaccid penis lengths from two to three inches. You also have a choice between a padlock or a security screw.

The only measurement you can’t alter is the ID of the cage itself. All three available cage lengths come standard with a 1-1/4 inch inside diameter. The reason is because MCN doesn’t manufacture the cages. The company uses outsourced pre-made cages so they can offer a near custom-made product at a less expensive price point. While the cages are manufactured in China, trust me these are high-end, not the type of often substandard workmanship you find with cheap chastity devices sold on Amazon or eBay. MCN does custom manufacturer the base rings which are available in round or oval.

Meet The Amicus

The Amicus is a high end, 316 surgical-grade stainless steel open cage device with smooth, symmetric welds. Similar to the Mature Metal cages, the Amicus cage is polished to a high gloss finish inside and out. In my opinion, the quality workmanship comparison between my Amicus and my Mature Metal custom device is dead even. The Amicus is that good.

The Amicus is comprised of three parts—

  • Open-style cage
  • Base ring
  • Lock (padlock or security screw)

 

If you’re familiar with Mature Metal devices, the Amicus cage and base ring mates together in exactly the same way. That’s why I was able to use a Mature Metal base ring with the Amicus when I originally ordered the device with a base ring that didn’t work for me.

Since I use a long-distance keyholder, I ordered my device with the padlock option since my keyholder requires me to use numbered plastic locks.

Fit

I can’t say enough about how satisfied I am with the fit of the Amicus. Although I usually wear cages with a 1-3/8 inch ID which my measurement calls for, I’ve had no problems at all stepping down to the 1-1/4 inch ID that’s standard with the Amicus. Since I prefer slightly shorter cages than the length of my flaccid penis, I’ve had no problems working my soft dick fully into the cage without having to resort to the stocking method. The cage feels snug, but not overly so.

The measurements for my Amicus are—

  • 1-1/4 inch ID cage
  • 2 inch cage length
  • 1/4-inch cage to base ring gap
  • 1-7/8 inch round base ring

 

I rate the fit of my Amicus device as perfect. I don’t believe it could possibly be improved. When I get around to ordering MCN’s fully customizable Contender, which I plan to do, I will use the exact same measurements.

Comfort

Comfort is another aspect of the Amicus I could not be more pleased with. When Mark at MCN says he manufacturers the lightest stainless steel chastity devices available, he is telling the truth. This is the lightest weight chastity device I’ve ever worn. It’s so light, I’m rarely aware I’m wearing it.

I used to switch to a light-weight nylon cage for running, but no more. The Amicus works just fine for that, even on my long runs. I’ve experienced zero issues with chafing or pinching while wearing the device.

Security

As I always say, no ball-trapping device without a PA ring is one-hundred percent secure. Someone determined to take one off while locked will find a way to do it. But, with the right size base ring I feel the Amicus is as secure as any other device of similar style and quality.

Hygiene

Since the Amicus is an open-style cage device, keeping things clean while caged is a snap. I soap up and use a hand-held shower-head which does a great job. I think I could literally wear the thing without ever removing it with no ill effects in the hygiene department.

Unlike my other cage-style devices, the Amicus has no horizontal bars at the end of the cage, only the two rounded vertical ones. Personally, I love the design because it means I have less issues when I need to pee. In fact, I usually can pee while standing without all the problems you often have trying that with most male chastity devices. For some guys, the lack of horizontal bars, might be an issue.

While I’ve never experienced it, I had one guy tell me that while becoming erect while wearing a cage without horizontal bars at the tip (like the Amicus) the head of his penis pushed between the vertical bars and things got painful as the erection continued. For that reason, he won’t wear a cage without horizontal bars. In fact, my previous keyholder wouldn’t allow me to wear a cage designed like the Amicus because she feared the same thing might happen. The good news is there is an easy fix, if you simply must have horizontal bars.

For an additional charge, Mark at MCN will add two horizontal bars between the vertical bars. I know someone who has had an Amicus cage modified by Mark who told me the result was excellent.

Other Impressions

From a purely aesthetic point of view, I loved the looks of my Amicus right out of the box. The craftsmanship and quality, in my estimation, is second to none. Shipping was unbelievably fast! Four days after I placed my order, the Amicus was in my mailbox. I had the same experience when I ordered the replacement base ring.

Another thing is I haven’t had nearly the problem with rotation while wearing the Amicus as I have with my Mature Metal device when locking with a numbered plastic lock. The locking pin tends to stay exactly on top where it is supposed to. This may be due to the reduced weight or because the 1-1/4 inch ID cage grips things a little tighter. But it is yet another thing I really love about this device.

Recommendation

For any guy with a flaccid penis length from two to three inches and who can fit a 1-1/4 inch ID cage, I enthusiastically recommend the MCN Amicus. Given the quality and craftsanship of the device, I think it is a steal at the current price point. If you’re ready to step up to a high-quality stainless steel chastity cage with a price that won’t break the bank, have a look at the Amicus. Though it’s not fully custom, it’s as close as it gets and available at an excellent price.

Mature Metal’s Watchful Mistress Review

While updating the chastity device reviews page, it dawned on me that I’ve never written a Watchful Mistress review for my workhorse Mature Metal chastity device. Since this is the only custom-made device I own at present, that’s inexcusable. So, I’m going to remedy that right now.

I’ve worn the device for almost five months now, so I feel well-positioned to give my opinion.

Intro

At the start, I can tell you unequivocally that there is no comparison to wearing a custom-made device and wearing a mass-manufactured, off-the-the-shelf one. It’s like comparing a Cadillac to a Chevrolet Spark. The Spark may get you from point A to point B, but the ride will not be nearly as enjoyable.

My Watchful Mistress, one of the five models currently offered by Mature Metal, looks like a work of art. It’s impossible to exaggerate the fine craftsmanship and quality that Mature Metal puts into their products. It’s lightweight, and it has a consistent gap all around, which I love.

Meet The Watchful Mistress

The Watchful Mistress is another standard ball-trapping device that comes in three parts.

  1. Base ring
  2. Open-style stainless-steel cage
  3. Lock (Abus padlock or security screw)

 

Mature Metal offers base rings in fifteen sizes, from 1-1/4 inches up to 3-inches. You have a choice between round and the more ergonomic oval-shaped base rings.

I went with the round base rings. Besides ordering the size my measurements called for, I also invested in two extra base rings in 1/4-inches increments smaller. It turns out it was a good decision. While I can wear any of the rings with the device, the smallest ring I ordered fits me best. Double base rings are also available at an additional cost.

I really love how the Watchful Mistress fits me perfectly, both concerning length and cage inside diameter. The tip of my penis sits flush against the tip of the cage, making urination a less iffy proposition. I went with the 1-3/8 inches inside diameter, which feels perfect for me. My flaccid penis fills the cage with no extra space, but without any sensations of the cage feeling overly tight. With this cage, I have not once had a problem with overnight, spontaneous attempted erections.

You can select from fourteen different cage inside diameter measurements when ordering the Watchful Mistress—from 1-inch to 2-inch at 1/8-inch increments. You can order the cage in lengths from 1-1/2 inches up to 5-inches, with fifteen options offered at 1/4-inch increments.

Mature Metal offers two locking options—Abus padlock or security screw. Be aware that the Abus padlock has a larger diameter hasp than most comparable small padlocks. If you choose the padlock option, Mature Metal drills the hole in the connecting pin just a tiny bit larger than the lock’s hasp. As a result, it’s a tight fit. That means using another padlock you may have lying around won’t give you the same fit, and that can cause problems.

Frankly, I didn’t understand why they made the fit between the lock hasp and pinhole so tight. I first assumed it was to minimize the lock rattling around and the resultant noise you get with some steel devices. That may be part of the reason, but not all.

The way the lock fits tightly in the pinhole also helps keep the device in the proper position when worn by limiting the normal rotation to the left and right you get with most every ball trapping device with a round base ring. When you move or walk, sit or stand up, the base ring, and consequently, the entire device tends to turn a bit from on center. When I substituted a lock with a smaller hasp for the Abus, the device rotated far more readily than any other steel device I’ve worn. It turns so much it can actually get your scrotum in such a bind it can be majorly uncomfortable.

At the moment, I’m wearing the device with a plastic numbered lock since I have a long-distance keyholder and am experiencing the same problem I just described. It gets annoying because it can wake you at night when your scrotum gets all twisted up in the device. Also, every time you have the urge to urinate, you must first adjust the device to its proper position.

I don’t consider the excessive rotation problem a defect. It’s more that the device is designed for use with a particular lock. I expect the security screw provides the same function as the Abus lock though I’ve not tried that locking option. At any rate, the device simply doesn’t stay in the correct alignment if you try substituting some other padlock or a plastic lock for the Abus.

Fit

The fit of the Watchful Mistress is phenomenal, and the measurements are exactly what I ordered. My device has an inside diameter of 1-3/8 inches, a length of 2-1/4 inches, and a 3/8-inch ring to cage gap. You can order the device with a 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, or 1/2-inch gap. Since there is no good way to measure yourself for the gap, Mature Metal recommends the 3/8-inch gap for most guys. But, if that turns out too tight, or not tight enough, you can send it back for an adjustment.

There is an excellent measuring guide at Mature Metal for all aspects that worked perfectly for me.

Comfort

When worn with the Abus lock, I find the Watchful Mistress satisfyingly comfortable. It is a stainless steel device, so you feel the weight, but this is the lightest weight steel device I’ve ever worn. It has a low profile and doesn’t produce a noticeable “chastity bump” with anything I’ve worn with it. It’s perfect for long-term wear. I expect I could wear the device indefinitely with no problems.

Security

The Watchful Mistress is as secure as any well-made ball trapping device. I haven’t tried to escape from mine while locked, but it feels plenty secure to satisfy me. It certainly won’t ever fall off of its own accord as long as you’ve got a correctly sized base ring and gap.

Hygiene

Hygiene, something I won’t compromise on, is another place the Watchful Mistress truly shines. The open design makes keeping things clean a snap. Using a handle-held shower head, I’m able to give the cage contents a very thorough cleaning. The other thing is the spacing of the bars at the end of the cage means urination isn’t a problem. As long as the device is aligned correctly, I can easily stand and pee normally while wearing this device. I give the device top ratings in the hygiene category.

Recommendations

Overall, the Watchful Mistress is a quality-made, hand-crafted device that won’t disappoint. I can give it my unreserved recommendation to those looking for a quality stainless steel chastity device. It performs its intended purpose like a champ and looks good while doing it. While I’ve always liked Mature Metal’s flagship model, the Jail Bird, I think the looks of the Watchful Mistress are a little more aesthetically pleasing, and it retails for only $50 more than the Jail Bird.

In the realm of custom-made, steel chastity devices, Mature Metal is one of the most affordable options. I also like the fact that I can send my device back anytime I want any modifications done. They can adjust every aspect of the device except for the internal diameter of the cage. So, make sure you get that measurement correct before ordering.
