I’m Back In The Chastity Saddle Again

As of Thursday, June 11, I’m back in the chastity saddle again, locked by my new keyholder who we’ll call Goddess Camille. This time we’ve agreed to a full one-month lock up. It feels good to be under the steady hand of GC once again after a few days of self-locking while wear testing the CB-6000.

Whoopi-ty-aye-yay

I go my way

Back in the saddle again

I’m also sporting a new chastity cage for the month, the Amicus from Male Chastity Now (MCN) that I recently purchased. I have to say I already love this cage, though I made errors when I ordered it.

An Amicus Experiment Gone Wrong

I’ve thought for a while now that I needed to try some new things—a 1/4-inch cage to base ring gap rather than my usual 3/8-inch gap, and an oval-shaped instead of a round base ring. Also, because my Mature Metal Watchful Mistress turned too much when I wore it with a plastic numbered lock for the first time, I thought I’d drop down to a 1-5/8 inch base ring in hopes of solving that problem. Since the MCN devices have an identical mechanism for mating the cage to the ring as MM, I decided to change all three variables when I ordered the Amicus. Mark at MCN delivered precisely what I asked for. Unfortunately, through no fault of his, it didn’t work at all.

I’ve worn a 1-5/8 inch base ring before without problems. But, I’ve never worn an oval-shaped ring, which I learned makes a significant difference. As soon as I put the ring on, I knew it was too tight. The middle of the ring behind my ball sack put a lot of compression on a spot where it didn’t feel good at all. I toughed it out for an hour, hoping it was only a new sensation I’d acclimate to, but it only got worse with time. So, immediately, I went back to the MCN site and ordered my usual 1-7/8 inch round base ring.

A Welcome Discovery

Since I’d hoped to get the Amicus in time for my first full month with GC and did, I was bummed about ordering a base ring that didn’t work. But, after taking off the ring, I noticed something. It looked very much like the base rings for my MM device. Would the rings interchange, I wondered? I grabbed my MM 1-7/8 inch round ring. Parts from different chastity devices NEVER interchange. But, to my surprise, the MM ring fit like a champ. Problem solved! I put on the MM base ring, put the cage back on, and it fit like a glove.

The Amicus Device

I’ll be doing a full review once I’ve worn the Amicus for a while, but I’ll share a few details here.

As noted on the MCN website, the Amicus is a semi-custom device meaning it is not fully customizable. MCN uses pre-made cages they get from a manufacturer in China. But, whoa Nelly! These cages are definitely nothing like the made in China cages I’ve seen in the past. They are high end, 316 surgical-grade stainless steel with smooth, symmetric welds. Similar to the Mature Metal cages, the Amicus cage is polished to a high gloss finish inside and out.

MCN uses the outsourced pre-made cages so they can offer a near custom-made product at a less expensive price point. The company does manufacture the stainless steel base rings to order. The only thing that keeps the Amicus from being a custom-made device is you can’t customize the internal diameter of the cage. They all come in the standard 1-1/4 inch size. For me, that wasn’t a problem. I usually wear devices with a 1-3/8 inch ID, but the 1-1/4 works fine. For someone new to the chastity lifestyle and on a budget, this is an ideal situation.

There are plenty of options available for the Amicus. You can get the base ring with a specific ID (1-5/8 – 2-1/4), a customized ring-to-cage gap (1/4, 3/8, or 1/2), And, there are three different cage lengths to choose from that will accommodate flaccid penis lengths from two to three inches. You also have a choice between a padlock or a security screw.

MCN Quality And Service

From an aesthetic point of view, I loved the looks of my Amicus right out of the box. The craftsmanship and quality, in my estimation, compares most favorably with that of my MM device.

Shipping was unbelievably fast! Four days after I placed my order, the Amicus was in my mailbox. I’m wearing the device for the third day, after sleeping in it the last two nights. I haven’t had a single problem with it since I worked out my base ring ordering error. The cage fits me perfectly. I absolutely would not hesitate to buy from MCN again. That’s great for me since I ordered the Amicus as a trial run before ordering MCN’s fully customizable Contender. I’m sure I’ll be doing that soon since I am delighted with my first MCN experience.

If you’re in the market for a quality stainless steel chastity cage with a price that won’t break the bank, have a look at the Amicus. Though it’s not fully custom, it’s a great semi-custom option at an excellent price.

Also, if you make a measurement mistake or want minor adjustments, no worries. Mark, the owner of MCN, is very responsive, knowledgeable, and will give you a quick turnaround, based on what some of my other chastity friends who buy from him have told me.

I’ll be posting a full review of the Amicus soon, and I’ll be providing updates to my one-month lock up for GC.

CB-6000 Review

Having worn one, finally, I’m ready to offer a CB-6000 review on the first popular mass-manufactured chastity device ever made. The CB line of penis cages likely has persuaded many guys to give male chastity a try for the first time. Based on all the positive reviews I’ve read since I became interested in chastity, it is one of the devices I recommended in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Male Chastity to chastity beginners.

cb6000-review

Introduction

CB-X manufacturers two CB-6000 models, penis cages made of medical grade polycarbonate, a highly durable plastic material. The standard model, the CB-6000, has a 3-1/4 inch cage with a 1-3/8 inch inside diameter. I tried out the other model, the CB-6000S (The “S” denotes short). It has a 2-1/2 inch cage and the same internal diameter. As a grower, not a shower, I prefer shorter cages.

Meet The CB-6000

The CB-6000S is another ball-trapping device, but it comes with more than the usual three parts.

  • 5 base ring sizes—1-1/2″ ID, 1-5/8″ ID, 1-3/4″ ID, 1-7/8″ ID, 2″ ID.
  • 3 different locking pins
  • 3 different spacers
  • Brass padlock
  • 5 numbered plastic tamper-evident locks

The various base ring sizes, locking pins, and spacers are intended to give wearers options aimed at achieving something close to a customized fit. The different pins and spacers allow flexibility as far as the cage-to-ring gap, which I think is a useful feature. The only measurement needed to order a CB device is the flaccid penis length.

The CB-6000S base rings are a little different from those of other devices. They are round rings with a gap at the top. Two other crescent-shaped pieces are supplied that close the ring into a complete circle. One has two white plastic pegs that help support and stabilize the unit while worn. It is inserted from the back. The second piece goes on the front of the base ring and slides over the two white posts. The locking pin is also inserted from the back. It isn’t perfectly circular by design so that it won’t turn after insertion.

I suppose the three-piece design of the ring makes it easier to put on by someone unfamiliar with putting on a ring worn around the penis and behind the testicles. But I found it easier to assemble the entire ring first and then putting on as I do any other base ring. Instead of rounded edges inside, the plastic base rings have squared-edges.

Fit

With the flexibility of the selection of base rings, locking pins, and spacers, I was able to obtain a good overall fit with the CB-6000S. At 2-1/2 inches long, and with the 1-3/8 inch ID, the dimensions of the cage are the same as my custom-made Mature Metal device, giving me the perfectly fitted cage as expected. However, because of all the combinations available, it did take some experimentation to get the final fit that felt best.

Knowing that finding the best fit would be a trial and error exercise, I approached it systematically. I used the largest ring and the longest locking pin and spacer combination first. It felt reasonably secure even though the 2-inch ring was larger than what I usually wear with my steel devices. Because the plastic cage is so lightweight, I went for comfort using the larger ring because of the hard-edges inside it. I wore the device all day without any problems.

After going to bed, while rolling from one side to the other, my left testicle popped out of the base ring. Since I had to get up and remove the device to put it back on correctly, I changed to a 1-7/8 inch ring, and the middle-sized locking pin and spacer. That got me through the first night wearing the cage without further incident.

On the second day, I replaced the 1-7/8 inch ring with the 1-3/4 inch, my usual size, and tried the shortest locking pin and spacer. The ring was fine, but I found that combination less comfortable and went back to using the middle-sized pin and spacer. That turned out to be the best overall fit, and I kept it for the duration of my wear test. On the whole, I found the fit better than a lot of the off-the-shelf steel cages I’ve tried.

Comfort

Mostly because of the way the base ring is designed with the square edges inside, I didn’t find the CB-6000S to be as comfortable as my well-fitting stainless steel cages. I wouldn’t say I experienced any actual discomfort, and I didn’t suffer any abrasions or tender spots from the ring. It was more like uncomfortable in a sense I can’t imagine I’d ever not notice I was wearing the device. There was a spot in the middle of my scrotum where the ring made its presence continually felt. I think in time, I may have grown accustomed to it, but three days of wear was not long enough for that to happen.

One thing I did like was the device was so much lighter than steel cages. That was one favorable trade-off.

Except for the first night when my testicle escaped, and I had to get out of bed and fix the problem, I didn’t experience any difficulties sleeping while wearing the CB-6000S. Since the cage was the proper size for me, there were no issues with the spontaneous nocturnal erections discomfort.

Hygiene

Hygiene, I think, is the biggest shortcoming of the CB-6000S. It’s a solid cage that encloses the penis. While there are side vents that are supposed to be there for hygienic reasons, I don’t think they serve any real purpose in that regard. Keeping the contents of the cage clean while wearing it without special supplies would be problematic at best during long-term wear. The only realistic option would be removing the cage periodically for a thorough cleaning.

Urination was another issue. I tried peeing while standing once just as an experiment—a bad idea. Expect to sit while peeing while wearing this device. That’s not unexpected with most any chastity device, but the CB-6000S was worse in the urination department than any other device I’ve worn.

Recommendation

The CB-6000S accomplishes what it is designed to do, though it isn’t the most comfortable device I’ve worn. That’s almost entirely because of the design of the base ring. If CB-X would only round the inside edges, I think it would be a huge comfort improvement. Also, from a purely aesthetic perspective, I wasn’t impressed. The CB-6000S is an ugly unit. Still, because of the price point and the customization options it offers, I stand by my past recommendations that it is an appropriate and serviceable device for those just getting started with chastity. Many knowledgeable people I know insist that The Holy Trainer is a better option for beginners than the CB-6000 devices. But since I haven’t yet tested The Holy Trainer, I can’t make that claim.

If you’re thinking of buying a CB-6000 device, avoid buying those offered on Amazon and eBay. The CB-X website states clearly neither is an authorized CB-X retailer. You won’t find the genuine CB-6000 on those sites. So, if you purchase a “CB-6000” from either place to save a few bucks, you will get a knockoff version.

Chaste’s Random Chastity Short Takes

The term “short takes” originated from the film industry. It refers to brief scene recordings. I decided to use it in the title of this post because I have three things I’ve promised to post about, but the topics are all too short to warrant separate posts. So, here are my random chastity short takes for June 2020.

Transitioned Into The CB-6000S Today

Last week I mentioned I’d be wear-testing and posting a review of the CB-6000 soon. If you check the “My Current Status” tab regularly, then you probably noticed I switched to wearing a CB-6000S today. I received it last week.

Since the CB-6000 is one of the devices I recommend to new guys (based on reviews I’ve read), I figured the least I could do was to spend the money to buy one and road test it myself.

I have to say, after the first eight hours of wear, I’m favorably impressed. I’ll be sleeping in it for the first time tonight. It is amazingly lightweight compared to the stainless steel devices I usually wear. So, expect a review in a few days.

Sitrep on New Keyholder Status

As mentioned in the June 1, “Breaking Up With Your Keyholder Is Hard To Do” post, I have a new keyholder. Today I completed the two-week trial with her. I must say our first interaction went spectacularly from my perspective. She devotes a satisfying amount of attention to me, but in deference to my experience wearing chastity devices, she doesn’t micromanage me. I appreciate that since I’m not a natural submissive type and don’t take to micromanagement well.

Along with the keyholding service, I bought up to get teasing and denial and am so glad I did. She gave me a task to do daily during the two weeks that was oh so effective at keeping my arousal ramped up. It was the same task, but it changed a little bit each day so that I never became bored with it. Her fees are very reasonable, and in my estimation, she is worth every penny.

On June 11, she will lock me for a full month. If that goes as well as the two-week trial, I plan to open the discussion with her about an open-ended agreement going forward. Until then, I’m self-locking for the CB-6000 wear test and review. That keeps my string of consecutive days locked since May 25 unbroken as I didn’t take a release.

I’ll stay locked in the CB-6000 until June 11 when I pick it back up with my keyholder. So far, so good, and steady as she goes. I still miss Lady Jayne, but I think I may have found a keeper in my present keyholder. I’ll continue to post updates on this as the situation warrants.

New Chasity Cage Ordered

male-chastity-now-amicusSo, I had some extra bucks this month and decided to pull the trigger on a new stainless-steel job I’ve had my eye on for a while. Mark, at Male Chastity Now (MCN), a custom-made chastity device fabricator, makes it. It’s called Amicus.

The Amicus is not technically a custom-made device since it has a pre-made cage. You must take it with the standard internal diameter of 1-1/4 inches. They do that (pre-made cage) to create a less expensive device. As a comparison, MCN’s fully customizable device, the Contender, sells for $320. That’s comparable to the cost of Mature Metal’s Jailbird. But the Amicus sells for only $165.

I own an off-the-shelf cage that has a cage with a 1-1/4 inches diameter, so I know it works for me even though I usually wear cages with a 1-3/8 inches diameter. There are three essential adjustments you can get with the Amicus—base ring diameter (not limited to just the usual three standard sizes), cage length, and ring to gap measurement.

I ordered my custom-made Mature Metal cage with a 3/8 inches ring to gap measurement. I’ve started feeling I should have gone with 1/4 inch instead, so I ordered the Amicus with that gap. If it seems to work better for me, I’ll ship my Watchful Mistress back to Mature Metal to have the gap adjusted.

I’m looking forward to trying out the MCN Amicus. I’ve seen great reviews on the quality of workmanship and the fit. Also, the company claims to make the lightest weight stainless steel devices available. Expect a review soon.

CB-6000 Review Coming Soon

Note from Chaste: The following post has been updated with a link to the CB-6000 review.

So, CB-X has this inventory clearance sale going. I ordered a device. In the next week or so, I’ll be sharing a CB-6000 review.

My very first chastity device was a CB-6000 knock-off that some foreign manufacturer had made from stainless steel. I bought it because I liked the look and wanted a steel device. But it never worked for me since it didn’t come with the multiple spacers and base rings CB-X provides with the genuine polycarbonate article.

The thing came with only one base ring and one spacer. One of the other of my balls would pop after I wore the thing for an hour or two, then it would fall off. Being totally new to chastity devices at the time, I didn’t realize it, but the problem was the gap between the base ring and tube was too wide for me. I’ve always thought it might have worked if I’d only had the extra ring and spacer options.

Having read Thumper’s CB-6000 review, I’m not expecting much. Though I’ve never met him, I have tremendous respect for Thumper. I’ve always found his insightful blog such a valuable resource. I think he did an excellent job with pointing out the CB-6000’s significant flaws—”a hard-edged A-ring that is uncomfortable, unnecessary side vents that lead to flesh bulging through, lack of an ergonomic shape.” In Thumper’s opinion, the CB-6000 is “a relic from another era.”

I don’t doubt the accuracy of anything Thumper wrote in his review of the device. But, for a couple of reasons, I wanted to try the CB-6000 and review it. First, despite its shortcomings, the CB devices were the first popular mass-produced chastity devices. And, a lot of guys still choose the CB-6000 as their first device, though it seems The Holy Trainer has since eclipsed it in popularity as a trainer. And, frankly, I’m a curious sort of fellow who will try anything once. Getting a CB-6000 at a time when I could save thirty bucks on the genuine device seemed as good a time as any to buy one and give it a test drive.

Hopefully, the device will show up sometime this upcoming week. I’ve already worked it out with my keyholder to switch over to it for a few days to review it. So, for anyone thinking about getting a CB-6000, soon you will have another review to consider.

Until now, all but one of my reviews have been on steel chastity devices, so it seems time to do a few on the plastic ones. I’ll probably review The Holy Trainer next. After that, I have my eye on another custom-made steel device I want to try.

Man Trap Chastity Device Review

While the A086 cage worked pretty well for me once I got a larger base ring, there was one thing I didn’t like. The cage was a little over an inch too long for me. Also, the gap was a little too wide and as a result I had ball slippage a couple of times. Since it will still be several more weeks before I can expect to receive my Mature Metal Watchful Mistress cage, with LJ’s approval I ordered another cage to use during the interim. About a week later, I received the Man Trap (MT4889) from California vendor Koalaswim.

Intro

I was impressed with the Man Trap right out of the box. It seemed a quality build, constructed of surgical grade stainless steel. All cage interior and exterior surfaces were completely smooth. The gap was much narrower than that of the A086 I’d been wearing. And the gap was uniform all the way around. This was accomplished by setting the center locking pin about five degrees below horizontal. I was confident this device would not allow for slippage and I couldn’t wait to try it on.

However, after putting it on I immediately discovered that the narrow gap was too narrow for my high and tight scrotum. Things soon became unbearably uncomfortable. But, the cage itself fit so well I wasn’t about to give up on it so quickly. I took the base ring down to my shop, put it into a vice, and heated it with a torch. I then carefully bent the center locking post upwards to remove the five degree downward attitude. That opened up the gap, but still left it narrower than that of the A086. I put the base ring and cage back on after the adjustment and the fit was perfect.

I feel the adjustment I made would be necessary for guys with high and tight scrotum like mine to wear this device comfortably. But, for those with a longer scrotum and lower hanging balls the gap would probably be fine as it comes from the manufacturer. Fortunately, because of its high-quality construction, the adjustment is easily and safely made.

Meet the Man Trap

The Man Trap is another simple ball-trapping device is comprised of three parts.

1. Base ring.

2. Open-style vented stainless steel cage.

3. Brass padlock with two keys.

Base rings are available in the three standard off the shelf sizes – 2 in. (50mm), 1.75 in. (45mm), or 1.50 in. (40mm).

Fit

Man Trap doing it’s thing

This cage is 2-inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide. The length is perfect for me, exactly the same length I ordered for my custom-made Mature Metal cage. This eliminates any extra room for attempted erections to get started and also makes peeing a much less risky proposition. I still sit to pee to err on the side of caution, but with my urethral opening properly aligned with the urination hole at the end of the cage, I have been able to pee normally while standing with little or no mess. With an average size penis, I find the cage snug, but not tight. I’m easily able to insert my flaccid penis fully into the cage without use of the stocking method. Once the cage is mated with the base ring and locked, it feels very secure.

Comfort

This is by far the most comfortable device I’ve worn since beginning with chastity. While steel, it is surprisingly lightweight. That means the base ring stays close to my body. Initially, I was a bit concerned the opening to the cage might cause chafing where it presses tightly against the scrotum. The reason is that the opening is not an actual ring, but a ring formed of flat steel and therefore has a thinner edge than other devices I’ve tried. But, happily I have had no chafing problems at all. It’s been a non-issue.

Security

As mentioned, I find the device very secure. I’m confident It would be very difficult, not to mention painful if I tried to pull out of it while locked. Of course, we accept that no ball-trapping device is one-hundred percent secure unless combined with a piercing. Where there is a will, there is almost always a way. Still, for someone serious about experiencing chastity who has no intention of attempting to defeat the device, I think this device is about as secure as it gets.

Hygiene

Thanks to the open-design, I’ve found the Man Trap simple to keep clean. Since urination is less problematic, I’ve not experienced any funky smells between cleanings. LJ generally requires me to go a week between unlocking for cleaning and maintenance so hygiene is always an important consideration for me.

Other impressions

Beyond the adjustment I found necessary to accommodate my high and tight scrotum, I can’t find anything to dislike about this device. It’s well made and comfortable to wear. Koalaswim describes the Man Trap as part of its exclusive “Handmade” collection. I’m unsure what that means exactly, whether it means they manufacture it in the U.S. or not. All, I can say it doesn’t look like any made in China device I’m familiar with. The standard of quality suggests it isn’t made in China. I’ll be happily wearing this device until my permanent custom-made device is delivered. It’s also great to know I have a well made, great fitting device to use should I ever need to send my Mature Metal device back for any adjustments.

Recommendation

For a guy looking for a well made, mid-range chastity device and for whom a 2-inch cage length is appropriate, I see no reason not to recommend this cage. Just remember if you have a high and tight scrotum you will probably have to make the minor adjustment I’ve described. At the time I published this review, it was available from Koalaswim for $69.00 plus shipping. It’s far superior to any of the cheap, made in China devices I’ve tried personally and I’ve had great experiences with Koalaswim both times I’ve made purchases from them.

Only my own opinions are expressed in this review. I purchased the Man Trap using my own funds, and I have no affiliation with Koalaswim.

New chastity cages on the way

I can’t believe I haven’t posted about this already since I’m really pumped about it. But, my first custom-fitted, custom made chastity device has been ordered from Mature Metal. Hopefully, it will be showing up in my mailbox within a month or so.

After discussing it with Lady Jayne, we decided on the Watchful Mistress. Mature metal recommends this model for long-distance relationships as it has an open design which makes it easy to clean without removing the device. It’s also advertised to be discreet under clothing and so lightweight and comfortable you forget you’re wearing it. All the reviews I read from those who own the device were super positive.

watchful-mistress

Mature Metal Watchful Mistress

If left up only to me, I probably would have gone with the Jail Bird, which I like just as much. But, Lady Jayne considered it far too plain for her tastes. At any rate, I’m stoked to get my hands on one of the quality crafted cages from Mature Metal. Not to mention, Watchful Mistress was on my top three list.

I’ve also placed an order for another lower-end device with Lady Jayne’s blessing, which we intend to try out while waiting for the Watchful Mistress to arrive. It’s coming from Koalaswim.com Chastity Store, a company I’ve ordered from before.

Lady Jayne is definitely not a fan of low-end cages but allowed me to order the Man Trap to try until my permanent custom cage arrives. It too is an open design stainless steel cage which I hope will have a gap that fits me better. It is also the exact same length as the cage I ordered from Mature Metal so it will give me a chance to check my measurements.

man-trap chastity device

Man Trap

The cage I’ve worn for most of the thirty-day chastity introduction with Lady Jayne has worked well enough for the most part. But, it is about an inch too long, and I’ve always hated the solid end cap with its “shower-head” effect when I need to pee. The fact that the cage is too long makes that issue even worse. Also, since going to the larger 45mm (1.75 inches) base ring, I’ve had ball slippage twice now which is a real pain. Hopefully, the Man Trap will solve those issues until the permanent device is built and delivered.

Once I get the Man Trap and have had a chance to wear it, I’ll be posting a review.

Size matters

Size matters when it comes to choosing a male chastity device. It’s crucial. When choosing a standard two-piece device made up of a tube or cage, and a base ring, the size of both components are important.

If a base ring is too large, it could actually fall off, or at least you could fall out of it without trying. Too tight and it will be uncomfortable, it might chafe and cause raw, irritated skin, or even compromise circulation. Similar issues can crop up with an improperly sized tube.

Given the variances in the human male body, the importance of proper sizing suggests a custom made device built to exact specifications is always going to be the best option. Unfortunately, it is also a pricey option and not every guy interested in experiencing male chastity is going to be able to fit a custom device into his budget.

Like me, I’m sure a lot of guys have gone with the off-the-shelf option, at least for a first device. If it doesn’t fit well, it becomes a matter of either biting the bullet and investing in a custom made device or buying a different mass-produced model that may provide a better fit.

As I mentioned in the “Male chastity expectations versus reality” post, proper sizing was certainly a major concern of mine when getting started. Since then, I found an attention-grabbing article on Medium about sizing written by a female key holder, Chastity Perkins. She enforces chastity for her husband. Here is what she wrote that I found so interesting.

“…finding the right device and, more importantly, the right size which will be far smaller than the one you think is “too tight.” It’s best to choose a male chastity device that you think is the right size and then also get two sizes smaller in the various parts available.

The main option is the length (short is good actually buy one way shorter than you think you should as well) the other critical size is the “base ring” buy that in the size you think is right and also the next two smaller sizes. Sure go ahead, start with the one that’s easy to get on. There’s a good chance it will eventually fall off even without trying. Go smaller, go a lot smaller, then go even smaller.

After a week or so of this routine, it’s not only dulling that awareness but also conditioning the body to not constantly fight the chastity device. During this period, there’s a good chance that you’ll need to use a smaller device, smaller ring, smaller. Not sure? Go smaller. Go as small as can possibly be MADE to fit as long as nothing is turning colors.”1

The idea a guy will acclimate to smaller and smaller sizes over time than he started with is something I haven’t come across before. Not only that, the rest of Perkins’ article indicates this occurs relatively quickly.

Here is my biggest takeaway from this. Buying a custom-fitted chastity device sooner rather than later might actually be the less expensive way to go. Most mass-produced steel devices come with only one base ring. While moderately priced, if you have to keep buying a new one frequently, it seems it may not take long to spend more than the cost of a custom device.

Also, with custom made devices, in most cases, I have found you can purchase a new ring of a different size from the manufacturer if needed without having to buy a whole new device. This isn’t usually an option with cheaper off-the-shelf models.

It seems there is always more to learn once you get started with male chastity. One thing for sure is I now have even more of an appreciation for how much size matters when choosing a properly fitted device.

Male chastity expectations versus reality

Expectations versus reality. Things don’t always go like you think they will. Like, pretty much never.

This is what I’m thinking about today after receiving an update from the postal service advising me the package containing my chastity device arrived at my local post office at 5:43 a.m. this morning. That means if all goes according to plan, it should be delivered tomorrow in the afternoon mail. Shit is about to get real.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m still eager to experience this. But, given the whole expectations versus reality thing, I admit to feeling a little anxious. It’s not only a matter of what it will be like to be locked up for the first time, and all that entails, but also a matter of interacting with Lady Jayne, my soon to be key holder. I’m sure she has expectations too, though at least up until now, she has only outlined them in the broadest of terms. Did I mention I’m feeling a bit anxious?

There are plenty of things that could go wrong, you know. Like Murphy said. “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.” For one thing, I’m obsessing a little over the base ring size I selected. I tried measuring first, using the instructions from one of the custom manufacturer’s websites. But, I kept coming up with different results. Finally, I decided to try the Goldilocks method. I ordered a really cheap (made in China) device off Amazon that came with three different sized base rings—1.50 inches, 1.75 inches, 2.00 inches.

I tried the 1.50 inch ring first, but it was too small. With a lot of effort, I did manage to get both testicles inside, but no matter how hard I huffed and puffed, I couldn’t get my flaccid penis inside with them. It was just as well since before I gave up my balls were already taking on an unfamiliar hue.

Next, I tried the 2.00 inch ring even though I expected it would prove too large. Sure enough, it was. It was comfortable and easy to get on, but all the advice I’d read on choosing base ring size adamantly suggests choosing the smallest you can get on and wear comfortably without any circulation issues.

Finally, I tried the 1.75. “Ahhh, just right,” I sighed. At least I hope so. It felt a bit on the tight side and did take some work to get on, but I wore it for an hour and my junk retained its normal color. I didn’t try wearing the device itself because it’s ugly and weighs a ton. I only ordered it because it provided a way to get a variety of base ring sizes on the cheap to experiment with. So, that is how I determined the ring size to order for the device I’m expecting in the post tomorrow. But, what if 1.75 inches isn’t the right size? Maybe it felt fine after wearing it for an hour. How will it feel after 24 hours, 72 hours, or longer?

After reading first-timer accounts by other guys on the web, I suppose the thing I’m most worried about is the dreaded nocturnal erections. How will I deal with that? Some described them as incredibly painful. Will my sleep suffer while caged? Not to mention all the other things that could go wrong.

What if the tube chafes the skin of my penis? What if the chafing creates patches of raw, irritated, sensitive skin, which then becomes a breeding ground for infection? I have a fairly high pain threshold. I am confident I can handle whatever minor discomfort the cage throws at me. But, a raw, irritated, infected Johnson? Wait. Obviously, I’m not gonna want to fucking deal with that.

It’s a lot to think about, to worry about, to obsess about when you’re facing something new and for which you have no frame of reference. Sure, in his first inaugural address, Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “There is nothing to fear but fear itself.” But, I kind of doubt he ever had a chastity cage locked on his penis. Chastity devices weren’t really a thing back then. Were they?

At this point, I can only hope I chose my first device wisely, that the fit will at least be satisfactory, and that I’m able to observe proper hygiene so I don’t run into any unforeseen problems due to bacteria and/or small, unnoticed injuries.

One can only hope. In this instance of expectations versus reality, maybe things will go the way I hope they will.

Chastity devices I like and why

This post was updated on 02.15.2021

Back in December 2019 when I wrote this post, “Chastity devices I like and why,” I was just getting started with male chastity. I made my selections almost purely based on aesthetics since I really knew very little about choosing a good male chastity device back then. Also, I hadn’t worn any of the devices I included in the post, but now I’ve worn and reviewed all but one of them. Here you can read all my reviews. But below you will find links to the specific devices.

Interestingly, even though I knew little about chastity cages back when I wrote the post, as it turns out I actually made some very good choices.

While I didn’t remove any of the three original devices I listed on this post back in 2019, I have made one addition because I have since acquired a new favorite.

The Original Post

While I’ve already chosen my device for my introduction to male chastity, I suppose it is never too early to start thinking about what I’d like to get down the road should I decide to take a deeper dive into enforced male chastity.

In this post, I’m sharing the three four devices I like best right now, and why. Assuming my thirty-day introduction goes well and I find chastity to be something I am truly passionate about, as long as my key holder gives me permission to change, I’ll definitely be looking to acquire one of these devices.

Please note, I have no affiliation with the  companies mentioned in this post, and have not been paid to recommend any of the devices mentioned. All opinions expressed are my own. Prices were current at the time of publication.

Watchful Mistress

The first device I find truly impressive is the Watchful Mistress by Mature Metal. It isn’t cheap at $370.00, but I could fit it into my budget. It is constructed of surgical grade stainless steel. Best of all, like all Mature Metal devices, it is custom-built to your specifications.

With this particular model, you can choose cage inside diameter, base ring inside diameter, length, the width of the gap between the cage, and the shape (oval or round). It can be designed to be secured with a padlock or security set screw.

Jail Bird

The Jail Bird is Mature Metal’s most popular design, and I do like it too. It’s also $50.00 less than the Watchful Mistress at $320.00, and offers all the same customization options. But, what draws me to the Watchful Mistress is Mature Metal’s claim that it is their most lightweight and compact model, which makes it perfect for 24/7/365 wear. Still, the Jail Bird stays on my shortlist for my next device.

Holy Trainer Nub

While I’m most attracted to steel devices at the moment, there is one resin device that I find very intriguing, the Holy Trainer Nub. What I like most about this device is the super small size. So small in fact, once it’s locked on the penis virtually disappears.

You can’t truly appreciate how small this device is from the above Holy Trainer website image. But, by clicking on this link to the Denying Thumper website, you can appreciate the tiny size of it by taking a look at the device while it’s being worn by Thumper. I can only provide a link since the image belongs to Thumper, and I don’t have permission to post it here.

I find the compact size truly amazing, and in Thumper’s detailed review of the Nub, he swears it is very comfortable to wear even though it may not look like it is. This would be a great option for air travel since the Nub is made of resin instead of metal. I also think it would be a great device to wear when running or at the gym. The Nub is available from Holy Trainer for $165.00 and comes in a variety of colors.

Amicus

The Amicus by Male Chastity Now is the new addition to my male chastity device line up. I didn’t even know about the Male Chastity Now Company back in 2019 when I published the original post. When I did discover the company, I bought an Amicus and from the moment I put it on, it became one of my most favorite stainless steel devices.

Amicus is a “near” custom chastity device since MCN offers several sizing options with it. You can’t customize it to the extent of a Mature Metal device, but you do get a lot of options with this very reasonably priced device. For that reason, the Amicus is vastly superior to any of the off the shelf, mass-produced cock cages available and it doesn’t cost much more.

If you’re into male chastity, what device do you wear? What are you’re likes and dislikes about it? I’d really appreciate it if you left a comment and shared your experiences with your favorite device.

The Jailhouse

After reading a ton of reviews on male chastity devices, I came away with two major things. First, a stainless steel device seemed more appealing to me than those made of other material like resin, silicone, or plastic. Steel seems more appealing due to its greater strength, aesthetics, and heft.

The other thing I learned, based on what I’d read, was steel chastity devices are best purchased from one of a handful of manufacturers who custom build them. Steelwerks and Mature Metal were two companies I saw recommended again and again. However, for a couple of reasons I chose not to go this route.

While a custom built device is no doubt optimal, it is a relatively expensive option. At Mature Metal for example, device prices range from $320 up to $480 depending on the model you’re interested in. The other thing is there is a lengthy wait of 6-8 weeks after you order before the device is shipped since it is custom built.

Given this is my first experience with enforced chastity, it didn’t seem to make sense to spend around $400 for a chastity device until I’ve learned whether enforced chastity is something I want to submit to on a more or less permanent basis. The other thing is after making the decision to explore enforced chastity, I didn’t want to wait 6-8 weeks or more before getting started. So, for those reasons I decided to go with a cheaper and faster option.

For my first experience, I chose to go with a more moderately priced device from a California manufacturer called the Jailhouse. It is the common two-piece device composed of a stainless steel tube, or cage and a stainless steel ring which connects with the cage using a series of three pins. There is a hole drilled in the center pin where either a small padlock or a numbered plastic lock can be used to secure the device.

The Jailhouse isn’t the cheapest way to go. I saw many similar style devices on Amazon for example which looked almost identical that were half its price. But, having researched this all quite exhaustively I was convinced getting the cheapest thing was not the way to go. So, a little more research led me to the device I ordered.

While I haven’t received the Jailhouse yet, I feel confident it will meet my expectations for a first device. Something I only learned after ordering it was it is basically a knockoff version in stainless steel of a very well known chastity device called the CB-6000. The CB-6000 has been the entry level device of choice for a great many men trying enforced chastity for the first time, but it is only available in poly-carbonate. Since I wanted steel, it wasn’t an option. Here is a side by side comparison of the Jailhouse and the CB-6000 to illustrate the similarities.

Notice that both devices use the three pin system, have similar looking vent holes, and the same style slit at the end of the tube for urination. Actually, as I’ve learned, the CB-6000 due to its popularity is likely the most copied chastity device in the world. You can even buy similar plastic models manufactured in China from Amazon, though the quality is no where near the same as you get with the authentic device.

For the gear heads, here are the specifications of the Jailhouse.

  • Stainless steel construction
  • Length 7cm (2.76 in.)
  • Tube inside diameter 35mm (1.38 in.)
  • Ring diameter 4.5cm (1.77 in.)

I’ve read both positive and negative reviews about steel CB-6000 knockoffs. The most troubling comment I read was from a very experienced guy I’ve developed a lot of respect for that found one he tried (not from the same manufacturer) to have a poorly finished interior that abraded the corona of his penis’ glans when he wore it while taking a long walk. Since I run almost every day, I have to have a device that accommodates physical activity without causing abrasions on one of the most sensitive parts of my anatomy. So, I’m trying to remain cautiously optimistic. Hopefully the device will meet my expectations.

Once I receive the Jailhouse and have had a chance to wear it a while, I will post a review for the benefit of others who may be interested in test driving a metal CB-6000 knockoff.

I hope you will visit again to read my next post when I’ll be sharing a little about the key holding agreement I’ve just signed with Lady Jayne.
